About the Role:
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team. At ALICE, DevOps is responsible for our cloud-based product infrastructure, deployment pipeline, DR capability, automation and self-service developer tooling.
Our infrastructure is built on AWS and Kubernetes. Much of ALICE’s future development will take place using a distributed approach.
We expect to scale our infrastructure significantly in the next few years. If you have experience working with a growing Kubernetes environment, we want to hear from you!
ALICE is a remote-first company and we have colleagues around the globe. This position requires alignment with Eastern U.S. (UTC+4) business hours, but there is some flexibility.
As a DevOps Engineer, expect to leverage your knowledge and experience to help us level up our DevOps game. This will be in the form of assisting our Dev teams with infrastructure creation and monitoring/alerting. You will also design and build automation and self-service capabilities to accelerate Dev teams. You’ll work with infrastructure-as-code technologies like Terraform, and monitoring/alerting tools such as New Relic, ELK, Cloudwatch, Grafana and Prometheus. You’ll also help improve our Continuous Integration/Delivery pipeline in Jenkins.
We share the operations/on-call components of infrastructure and production support within the DevOps team. Expect to participate in an on-call rotation, and take turns handling day-to-day requests from our Dev teams.
Our stack is Java / Groovy on Grails, Tomcat, Aurora MySQL DB, ElasticSearch, and Redis.

About the role:

As a senior product manager, key traits we seek are accountability, communicability, ownership, tenacity, and flexibility. It’s crucial that a senior product manager can stay organized and set priorities while managing the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. They must know their product and serve as the voice of the customer, while being an SME to the company, as well. They need to also think strategically, and develop a keen sense of appropriate prioritization and opportunity costs. When there are impediments, they must quickly own them and communicate them to stakeholders to ensure the company is well aware of any delays or changes so they’re not caught off guard. With respect to flexibility, a senior product manager must work with the team to “right size” projects, negotiate on costs against requirements, and find the solutions to the problems. With this role comes the expectation of mentorship, as well. Senior product managers are the go-to product leaders for our up-and-coming product team. They must lead by example and via coaching, and that elevated role not only helps our teammates but the senior product manager, as well.
Lastly, a senior product manager atALICEmust truly enjoy learning. With this role, the expectation is that it’s the first step in the progression to become a director of product management.
