  • Lead and oversee the preparation of all jurisdictional income tax provisions including ensuring accurate and timely ASC 740 tax accounting and financial reporting disclosures
  • Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that may impact tax positions, including tax accounting implications
  • Provide forecasts and guidance regarding future effective tax rates and cash taxes
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls related to tax matters are in place and operating correctly.

Checkr is looking forSummer 2022 Internsto work on high impact engineering projects that help build a fairer future for all. When you join our team, you'll gain real world experience with web APIs and see how we build microservices to scale. You'll learn how we use ML/NLP to optimize our name matching algorithm, and get a chance to play with our Kubernetes continuous deployment pipeline. You'll also be a core part of our mission to help second chance citizens re-enter the job marketplace. Our intern program is meant for students who are seeking to enrich their experience with understanding how a feature is conceptualized, built and shipped to production.

Checkr’s internship program is an amazing opportunity for anyone who is pursuing a career in software development and wishes to learn from a diverse cultural perspective. We are looking for candidates who have a strong understanding of engineering principles and who are interested in learning about open source technologies. Our interns will exude curiosity tempered with a #getshitdone mentality. 

This role is open torising juniors or seniors, PhD students and bootcamp grads!!!

What we value in an intern:

  • Engineering awareness in Backend, Full-Stack, Data Engineering or DevOps
  • Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and pride in your work
  • Self-awareness and a desire to better yourself
  • Curiosity about how and why things work
  • Must be graduating in Summer/Fall 2022 OR have graduated from a bootcamp
