CropX is hiring a Remote Territory Sales Manager - Texas and Southern Great Plains

CropX is looking for a highly motivated agricultural sales professional to serve as Territory Manager for its dealer network in the key growth area of Texas and the Southern Great Plains region. The position reports to the VP of North America Sales.

CropX is an innovative agricultural technology company enabling farm operational efficiencies, crop input cost savings, and improved yields.  The company offers a user-friendly precision farming system for irrigation management and other agronomic decisions. The CropX platform includes connected hardware devices and cloud-based software, integrating measurements of soil moisture, ET, weather, crop imaging, farm machinery data and more. Our solutions are provided to farmers through a network of trained dealers and agronomic service providers.  

Responsibilities

·         Develop and maintain a strong dealer network in the region through new dealer recruiting, ongoing dealer development, and overall relationship-building within the ag industry in the region.

·         Partner with CropX dealers to enable their success and growth. Work closely with CropX’s Customer Success team to deliver effective training activities including new dealer onboarding and ongoing training of existing dealers. Support dealers with ongoing training and coaching on technology, sales, marketing and agronomic support.

·         Develop and expand the market for CropX by identifying new opportunities and enhanced solutions that technology can bring.

·         Effectively manage schedule and travel while working independently. 

·         A track record of excellence in past employment or other activities.

·         5+ years of sales experience within the Ag Industry.

·         Self-motivator who takes ownership of their territory and takes personal responsibility to uncover all opportunities to exceed territory goals.

·         Ability to thrive in a dynamic sales culture where teammates motivate and support one another to reach team goals.

·         Experienced with developing and executing dealer strategy – including establishing, training and managing dealer partners in hardware and subscription sales.

·         Independent thinker with good judgement skills and a record of problem-solving.

·         Farming knowledge and / or agronomic experience.

·         Superior communication skills in both 1-1 and group settings.

·         Ability to understand the customer, and to help dealers understand customer needs from both business and technical perspectives.

·         Comfort with technology: Ability to demonstrate software products virtually and in person; working knowledge of CRM tools is a plus.

·         Comfort with necessary travel: Ability to travel about 30-50%+ on average, with seasonal spikes

Responsibilities

·        Lead and manage all CropX B2B sales efforts across North America.

·        Build and develop a significant sales pipeline for CropX B2B in North America to achieve year-on-year revenue growth in our North America B2B segment.

·        Serve as primary point of contact and account manager for multiple national accounts.

·         Grow the B2B market by independently discovering and closing business while also simultaneously working together to close leads from our team of territory managers.

·        Work closely with CropX’s commercial, product and technology leadership to help the company quickly respond and adapt to new market opportunities and client requirements.

·        Work as a true team player with our current sales, customer experience, technical support and operations teams to provide outstanding service and deliver a partnering culture with our agribusiness clients.

·        Provide a positive presence and representation for CropX across North America and across the industry, for example via major events and trade shows, participation in industry groups, etc.

·        5+ years of previous experience with enterprise-level sales in agriculture (or a closely related area). You are equally comfortable in the boardroom or in the field.

·        Established network and domain knowledge in one or more of our target market segments. Examples could include machinery OEMs, seed and/or chemical input providers, ag retail, food processors, and/or CPGs.

·        Very strong written communication and presentation skills that can influence the decision to partner with CropX.

·        Highly responsive and detail-oriented, in order to discover and address the needs of larger client organizations with multiple stakeholders.

Customer Experience Rep - West Coast

As a Customer Experience Representative for CropX, you will play a central role in ensuring the success and satisfaction of our customers using our precision sensor devices and data on farms and vineyards. This role will focus mainly on our West Coast customers, working closely with CropX sales and field operation teams. Your primary duties will be in two areas: (1) direct support of our customers, and (2) logistical coordination of our West Coast field technician’s day-to-day operations in the field.

Responsibilities: 

  • Support our customers in the farming sector via phone, email and chat. Build rapport and respond to incoming queries or issues and outbound communication in a professional, compassionate manner. 
  • Provide remote coordination and dispatch for our field agents visiting orchards and vineyards for installations and repairs to help ensure timely and satisfactory field service. Seek to maintain and improve our metrics for overall timeliness and quality of field service.  
  • Establish regular and proactive communication with customers both during and outside their crop management season. Touchpoints include onboarding, in-season support, and subscription renewals. 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure seamless and proactive account management and identification of growth opportunities.  
  • Assist with order and returns processing, providing invoices and up-to-date balances. 
  • Coach customers on how to leverage the CropX platform for the best use on their farming operation, whether in one-on-one calls or webinars. 
  • Find creative and resourceful solutions and think outside the box when faced with new issues. 
  • Advocate for customer needs to help drive product and service improvements, ensuring that our business is developing with our customers as a top priority. 
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the CropX product suite. 
  • Agricultural or viticultural background strongly preferred. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service setting. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (specifically Outlook, Excel and Word). Experience with CRMs is a plus. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment with remote members, building trust quickly because you are authentic, direct, and have strong empathy for customers. 
  • Excel in a fast-paced and changing environment. Ability to prioritize and manage a variety of tasks which can be different every day.

As an Account Manager reporting to the VP of North America Sales, you will be responsible for growing CropX’s customer base, generating sales leads and closing deals with new customers. You will be an important customer-facing part of our Tule dealership, which is the premier dealership for CropX in California.

Responsibilities:

1.       Develop expertise on CropX and Tule products and technology

4.       Maintain a very high revenue renewal rate.

5.       Understand the unique use cases and value that each customer derives from our products, and help them maximize the impact of these use cases within their organization.

●        Prior sales experience within the Ag Industry.

●        Practical knowledge in viticulture and/or agronomic experience.

●        Comfort with technology: Ability to demonstrate software products virtually and in person; working knowledge of Salesforce.com or other CRM tools is a plus.

●        Comfort with travel: Ability to travel about 30-50%+ on average, with seasonal spikes (primarily day travel)

●     Live in  Napa County or Sonoma County, and work from home with minimal supervision.

●        A valid US Driver’s License with a good driving record, and the ability to drive long distances to industry events and customer offices, staying overnight near these locations as necessary.

●        Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; CropX will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

 

Physical Requirements:

●        Ability to lift objects up to 35 pounds.

●        Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach and sit for up to 8 hours per day.
