The Opportunity: 

Culture Biosciences is looking for an Associate Director of Product. You will own our portfolio of upstream bioprocessing equipment including hardware, software, and single use consumables. You will be responsible for launching products, driving accelerated adoption of our products & services, increasing revenue, market share, and profitability through effective product development, life cycle management, and coordinating marketing & training for the product portfolio.

What you'll do:

Product Planning and New Product Introductions

  • Lead product launches to ensure successful product commercialization.
  • Serve as product champion with internal teams and engage directly with customers as the product SME.
  • Lead / support cross-functional teams: R&D, operations, marketing, commercial and external partners to execute programs following a stage gate process.
  • Create / evaluate various product offerings and pricing scenarios to enable fast adoption upon launch. This can include Hardware-as-a-service, Software-as-a-Service, Hardware/Software/Consumables bundles, and Service offerings.
  • Develop a 2 to 4-year product roadmap through market research and voice of customer (VOC) data.

Product Life Cycle Management

  • Develop the positioning strategy of all products and services considering price, volume, share and profitability.
  • Provide input for regional promotional tools, sales strategy, and product pricing to meet revenue/margin goals.
  • Drive continuous improvements to maintain and/or improve market penetration and share position.
  • Implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line’s competitive edge.

Product Line Performance

  • Lead and prioritize cross-functional activities to improve overall product line performance including market adoption, revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality and delivery.
  • Develop & present quarterly and annual report to leadership on product sales activity to budget, market and channel trends, key customers, and competition.

Marketing and Training

  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team to develop appropriate collateral support including catalogs, launch kits, sales communications, instruction sheets, etc., for driving sales (web enabled).
  • Develop materials for the assigned products and lead or support training programs.
  • Specify, plan, and participate in industry conferences and exhibitions.

About you:

  • BS degree in Science or Engineering is required; MBA or MS or PhD degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years, product management, R&D or market development experience preferred.
  • Experience in one or more upstream process development operations for protein therapeutics and/or viral vector production is preferred.
  • Experience with single use bioprocessing equipment including hardware, software, consumables will be valued.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including strong active listening skills.
  • Understands how the business operates and confident in working with diverse data to develop strategic recommendations.
  • Requires excellent organization, project management, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis, develop financial models and interpret P&L statements as they relate to the product portfolio.
  • Ability to gain in depth technical understanding of product portfolio including the customer workflow, and quality and regulatory requirements.

Location & Schedule: 

  • This may be a hybrid or remote role. There will be about 25% to 35% travel depending on the location of the candidate. 

Base Salary Range:

Culture Biosciences's compensation package includes market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, and great benefits. Our expected salary range for this role is $220,000 - $245,000. We are hiring for multiple levels and backgrounds so final offers may vary within the range provided based on experience, expertise, and other factors.

The Role

You will be responsible for creating and revising hardware manufacturing procedures and forms. This is a contract role, expected to last for approximately 6 months and work approximately 15-20 hours per week. 

What you'll do

  • Critique and improve accuracy and flow of technical documentation through interaction with manufacturing.
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
  • Ensure that the documents are clear, concise, and technically accurate. Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts to increase users’ understanding.
  • Collaborate and provide documentation support to New Product teams, including developing/refining manufacturing instructions.
  • Observe manufacturing processes on occasion to understand manufacturing processes or opportunities for documentation improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders.

What we're seeking

Must have

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience as a writer and/or process documentation specialist. Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably a startup environment.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills with proven experience in developing/implementing training content for manufacturing processes.
  • Work independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience executing technical writing for hardware manufacturing processes and procedures including acceptance activities and process controls, identification and traceability, quality auditing, etc. preferred.
  • Effective analytical problem solving, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while successfully managing several projects in parallel.
  • Working knowledge of quality system requirements (QSR) and good manufacturing practices (GMP) is highly preferred.

Nice to have

  • BS or MS in a technical discipline is preferred, but not necessarily required for a candidate who has relevant years’ experience technical writing experience.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced full stack software engineer and technical leader who wants to build the software platform that will transform biomanufacturing. You will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, biological, and chemical engineers to build our core technology. Your work will quickly impact cutting edge biotechnology companies by helping them get their products to market faster and more efficiently.

Our software challenges are more than scaling a web platform: we model biological processes and operate mission-critical software within bioreactors.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Culture Biosciences, you will be at the heart of our engineering process, building software that empowers our company to deliver best-in-class products and services. Your role will be pivotal in steering the technical direction of our team and laying down the foundation of our products. Here's how you'll contribute:

  • Design, plan and lead complex technical projects that require collaboration across various teams within the company.
  • Own the initiative to recognize and shape cross-team plans for addressing and reducing critical technical debt.

Our expected cash compensation for this role is $180,000 - $205,000.
