CES is seeking a Lead Consultant of Emerging Technologies with a track record of managing client engagement in the energy markets. As a Lead Consultant, your primary responsibilities will include identifying and cultivating business opportunities, managing complex projects with a remote team, and positioning our company as a leader in the industry.

Responsibilities:

The role is 55% project management and delivery, 25% mentoring analysts’ team, 10% establishing market expertise and 10% business development.

  1. Project Management
    1. Lead the delivery of customer work through modeling, developing presentations, writing, and preparing reports, and owning customer requests.
    2. Track and manage actual performance of project teams against the established plan, with ongoing communication to project team members.
  2. Establish Market Expertise to Interface with Clients
    1. Establish our company as a thought leader in the industry by engaging with key decision-makers, presenting at industry events and conferences, and showcasing our expertise.
    2. Assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations. Translate technical concepts to a broader audience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of power industry experience.
  • Proven track record in project management and client management.
  • In-depth understanding of energy, ancillary services, and capacity frameworks within the US ISO/RTO markets.
  • In-depth understanding of price forecasting methods, project merchant revenues, and our role as independent market consultant.
  • In-depth understanding of state and utility programs for renewable energy technologies.
  • Excellent verbal, writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical/quantitative skills. Understanding of energy modeling system and methods.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with both US and remote teams.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem-solve with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth understanding of distribution energy resources (DERs) pairing with renewables.
  • In-depth understanding in energy storage dispatch modeling.
  • Knowledge of Vehicle-to-Anything (V2X) applications.

We are looking for a talented and hard-working individual with a minimum of three (3) years experience in the deregulated electric industry to support the electricity market analysis consulting work of Customized Energy Solutions. This position will be largely focused on assisting with the management of Customized Energy Solutions’ wholesale market load and generation clients, including settlement, scheduling, and other back office processes, specifically focusing on activity in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) region. In order to support these functions, the candidate will need to become familiar with operational processes required to support our client’s business.  Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Being detail oriented and a person of integrity are essential qualities, as is an ability to handle new tasks and manage multiple projects and competing priorities. The position will also involve performing analytical project work geared towards evaluations of aspects of the electricity markets.

Examples of specific responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination of generation scheduling activities / reporting for wholesale generation clients

In order to support these functions, the candidate will need to become familiar with operational processes required to support our client’s business.  Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Being detail oriented and a person of integrity are essential qualities, as is an ability to handle new tasks and manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordination of scheduling activities & reporting for wholesale generation and load clients
