About the Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer Backup, you will maintain storage, backup and associated systems infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with like-minded engineers with hand-picked key skillsets to deliver the team’s core objectives. You will care about continuous improvement, constant learning and be challenged on new technologies.

You’ll become fully immersed in our client’s technical environment, so you can make the best recommendations to assist the team and customers to ensure that they have a robust and fit for purpose solution.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Systems Engineer Backup, you will build on the existing team’s capabilities by:

  • Providing operational support for backup systems and associated systems.
  • Proactively managing backup systems with respect to capacity, performance and availability.
  • Implementing all changes with regard to best practice for storage systems and backup systems, as provided by the relevant vendor.
  • Sound documenting of procedures, solutions, and recommendations.
  • Mentor and assist team members on continual improvement and best practices.
  • After hours and weekend work may be required as well as Onsite and Remote work on occasions.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge across multiple backup software and solutions in particular Commvault, Veeam, NetBackup and Azure. There are other platforms such as Backup Exec, EMC Networker and other applications that are a nice to have.

You will possess excellent communication and relationship building skills, and pride yourself in doing the right thing for the end user. The ability to document and present roadmaps, solutions, and best practices to internal teams as well as the customer to assist in assuring that their data is secured and recoverable.

Knowledge on Cloud, Storage and Tape Libraries would be advantages along with sound knowledge of how external services such as SQL, Oracle and Virtualization are developed and deployed.

About the role (your why)

The Assurance and Compliance Specialist (ANZ) role will support the delivery of a comprehensive Risk, Assurance and Compliance (RAC) program. Informed by an understanding of industry standards and controls, government legislation and regulations and internal Datacom policies will translate that knowledge into a practical program with the line of business to improve service delivery to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and addressing compliance risks with proactive assessment of processes, controls, and data to identify potential weaknesses and ensure compliance.  
  • Work with service line leaders to conduct gap analyses and develop mitigation plan/actions analysing situations to pinpoint potential issues before they escalate and recommending and implement corrective plans/actions. 
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews inline with the line of business’s Risk and Assurance Program to determine and track progress of plans/actions ensuring quality processes interface effectively with other processes  
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Government standards and controls (e.g. NZISM, AU Essential Eight) to develop and adhere to the respective Security assurance activities by conduct regular reviews to ensure all service lines effectively execute according to those process and standards. 
  • Monitor and track delivery of services against relevant quality standards, develop corrective action planning to address non-conformance to quality standards 
  • Escalate issues as required to management for risk management purposes 
  • Delivery of all relevant contracted articles to Government Lead Agency’s on an ongoing basis as outlined in any All of Government common capability Supplier/Partnership Agreements. 
  • Drive ongoing improvement and innovation through an ongoing program with the customer and delivery teams to identify and implement quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Responsible for implementing a principle driven health and safety culture that cares for employees and ensures their safety in line with Datacom policy

  • Assist to prepare periodic reporting for Datacom’s Group Leadership detailing progress toward optimal risk posture, including escalation of any impediments/roadblocks to achieving optimal risk posture.

The Senior Android Developer role is responsible for the core coded business logic for the developed application or platform. They should be intimately familiar with the languages and design patterns used in the application and strive to deliver code that is well structured and maintainable.

  • Basic / Intermediate Python Development skills. Must be able to construct basic applications / scripts using Python to perform a variety of tasks, such as Automation, data/text manipulation. Ideally exposure / knowledge of frameworks such as Django and Flask
  • Basic Database skills. Must be able to articulate database concepts (tables, roles, queries – eg: Differentiate between DDL, DML and a query)

About the Role

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, supporting and customizing developed systems software and firmware for customers. This role will involve operating Datacom’s technical infrastructure including corporate hardware and software as well as providing corporate systems for the Datacom Business. Role Responsibilities

What you’ll bring  

 

  • Previous experience working with WFM systems (Verint, Calabrio & Genesys preferred)
  • Previous experience working in Workforce planning within a large complex IT Consultancy
  • Strong financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation, and project revenue
  • Ability to work on complex assignments that requiring your analytical skills and judgment for resolving complex issues or in making recommendations
  • Experience with balancing budgets, work schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
