Job Description

The Product Manager will manage the product backlog, prioritising stories and tasks with stakeholders , possessing excellent product knowledge of the websites and titles within the Automotive portfolio.

You will lead and promote a data driven approach to development and conduct competitor and industry research to find new opportunities and run workshops to find current pain points.

Working closely with designers and engineers to deliver incredible end to end user journeys and products and implementing a test and learn workflow, constantly striving to improve products.

You will establish goals and meaningful KPIs to measure success and work with wider teams to roll out new features and products.

 

Qualifications

As Product Manager you will have a proven track record in product in a growth environment. Experience in the ecommerce and media space is essential, including building reader revenue through demand generation, ad tech and pay walls with a solid grasp of CMS's, online content and SEO. Experience of working within the car market is desirable, but not essential.

To achieve this, we are creating a Data & Insights team to work with internal and external stakeholders to build understanding of audiences, get clients closer to their consumers, and measure programme effectiveness. Key to this is bringing in a Research Manager to oversee our qualitative and quantitative research projects and initiatives.  

Job Description

As Research Manager you’ll be working closely with commercial and marketing teams across the Autovia portfolio to ensure that we’re surfacing and reporting key insights to internal stakeholders, clients/partners and the wider automotive ecosystem as a whole.

This role requires a commercial mind-set in the application of insight. You will create compelling data-driven narratives from multiple sources, to support the overall Autovia proposition and go-to-market, as well as those of our individual brands.

Key tasks/Day to day responsibilities

  • Champion and support the customer centric research and insights function internally and externally.
  • Support the strategic delivery of research and insights to enhance our customer identification, customer experience and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • End-to-end delivery of survey-led insight initiatives, including liaising with stakeholders on brief, questionnaire design and scripting, sample creation, survey activation, and ultimate delivery.  This includes 3rd party supplier liaison and management.
  • Deliver clear and actionable outputs for our marketing and commercial teams, clients and partners.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the sales teams, working together to maximise use and application of insight for pitches and projects
  • Deliver commercially actionable insight to stakeholders, utilising all relevant insight resources and channels.
  • Present research findings internally (sales, publishing and editorial teams) & externally (advertisers, agencies and industry events), as required.
  • Contribute to the entire cycle research projects, as required – both quantitative and qualitative.  In particular, assist with:
  • Advising on the most appropriate research techniques/solutions when required
  • Employing and managing external agencies
  • Project planning and timings
  • Project implementation – including writing research brief and designing questionnaires etc.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of internal teams, from brand owners, marketing, commercial, digital, and editorial, providing timely day-to-day research support.
  • Keep up with media research trends advising on best practice and areas for optimisation/improvement.
  • Ensure that all insight methodologies and techniques are working as efficiently as possible, and are meeting the strategic needs of the business, and suggest improvements as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Experienced research professional, either in a client side or research agency side role.
  • Automotive experience preferred, ideally with an awareness of digital media research.
  • Experience of writing research briefs and commissioning research with agencies.
  • Strong questionnaire design skills and seeing a quant project from start to finish.
  • Using an online survey tool to script surveys.
  • Proven track record of delivering actionable research to internal teams.
  • SPSS or similar, an excellent understanding of interpreting quant research data.
  • Familiarity with research tools such as Telmar/Choices (NRS/PAMCo, TGI, ComScore, Nielsen, Google Analytics) would be an advantage but full training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Presentation skills, creating your own outputs in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Understanding of qualitative and quantitative methods and selecting the best approach to fulfil our business objectives.
  • Comfortable in an agile, fast paced, commercial environment.
  • Good external research contacts, research agency knowledge is desirable.

Collaboration & communication

Technical innovation

Building rich media creatives requires the use of cutting edge tools. As part of this role you’ll take ownership of our creative build stack ensuring that it is robust, flexible and feature rich. This includes the maintenance and enhancement of our library of Native and Rich Media templates in order to offer out of the box products to our clients.

Working as part of the development team we will look to you to facilitate discussion and provide solutions for commercial integrations without our in house web platform both in the short and long term.
