Egnyte is seeking a Sales Engineer in the US Pacific or Mountain time zones. The Solutions Engineer is a creative thinker that acts as the "Liaison” between Sales, Product, Marketing and the Customer by identifying and removing any potential roadblocks early in the sales process while creating detailed specifications agreed upon by both Egnyte and the client. You’ll manage customer pilots, prospect demonstrations and POCs, including hands-on installation and configuration of Egnyte and third-party products. You’ll develop deep knowledge of the Egnyte platform, competition, integrations and our customer industries.

Your Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Understand our customers’ businesses and challenge their ideas of the status quo
  • Be the technical lead in customer engagements in partnership with the sales team to gain technical fit through a consultative sales approach
  • Proactively identify and address customer's technical needs and objections to drive sales
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and solution proposals by matching specific client business requirements into effective technical solutions, with a focus on Egnyte’s products and services.
  • Maintain high level knowledge of technical strengths and weaknesses of the competitor's products and what strategy Egnyte should develop to counter.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of all Egnyte products/services, competitive product lines and platform integrations through self-education and Egnyte’s enablement resources.
  • Perform technical benefits assessment for customers by gaining detailed understanding of their environment. 
  • Lead RFI, RFP and Security Questionnaire response completions.
  • Travel to customer sites, Egnyte internal meetings and trade show/conferences, if needed

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industry experience working with BIM products and platforms (e.g. Revit, BIM360), Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc, and interfacing with digital construction during design, construction and handover activities.
  • Curiosity about technology, and passion to both learn and share with peers and customers
  • Ability to work with all levels of customer roles up to and including the CIO, CTO and BIM/VDC Manager
  • Strong people orientation with the ability to listen, work, resolve and prioritize issues to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to sell effectively in front of a mixed technical and non-technical audience
  • Ability to quickly assess the critical elements of a situation and decide and execute appropriate action
  • Broad knowledge of SaaS, infrastructure, network, authentication, security and associated collaboration and governance technologies.
  • Strong experience with process-centric solution selling (aka consultative- or value-selling)
  • Appreciation of and experience with the entire sales cycle including pre-sales, deployment, customer success and retention is preferred

  • Develop course curriculums that scale to the learner’s requirements/position, weaving in a separate track for sales management
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of onboarding programs by identifying and tracking key metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive rep productivity
  • Work with cross-functional teams to align on initiatives, product updates, and business priorities and continuously update programs accordingly
  • Identify performance gaps within the sales organization and design onboarding content to improve and influence results, working closely with sales leaders
  • This position reports to the Sr Director of Sales Enablement

Your Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years experience in sales enablement or sales (SaaS preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized and skilled in project management

What You’ll Do (but is not limited to)

  • Design and develop highly-scalable elastic cloud architecture that seamlessly integrates with on-premises systems
  • Challenge and redefine existing architectural fundamentals in order to provide next level of performance and scalability; ability to foresee post-deployment design challenges, performance and scale bottlenecks
  • Work with multicultural, geographically distributed teams and closely coordinate with cross-functional teams in multiple time zones.
  • Deliver enterprise-grade products to customers and continuously work with engineering team to refine products in the field
  • Mentor interns and junior engineers, collaborate with Operations, and work closely with CTO on roadmap items
  • Extensive penetration testing to ensure security across a hybrid deployment between public/private cloud
  • Monitor and manage 3,000+ nodes using modern DevOps tools and APM solutions
  • Proactive performance and exception analysis

  • Demonstrated success designing and developing complex systems
  • Expertise with multi-tenant, highly complex, cloud solutions
  • Experience owning all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, QA and maintenance.
  • Experience with the following technologies: Java, SQL, Linux, Python, HBase/BigTable
  • Data driven decision process
  • Relies on unit testing instead of manual QA
  • Knowledge of DevOps techniques
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field

What You’ll Do (but is not limited to):

  • Work with fast-paced development team in designing and implementing our next generation, hybrid-cloud file sharing solution.
  • Research and leverage latest cloud and distributed systems technologies to develop features, performance improvements and scalability for file sharing in cloud-to-on-premise and cloud-to-cloud settings.
  • Own end-to-end feature development, from design through hands-on implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring in production and troubleshooting.
  • Leverage big data analytics to drive product design, usage and adoption.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of complex problems that may involve third party software, network configurations and software relating to scaling and performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers, collaborate with Operations team, and work closely with Products team on roadmap items.

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of industry experience in design and development of highly-scalable enterprise level software products.
  • Solid knowledge data structures and algorithms and hands-on work experience with one or more programming languages GoLang, Python, C.
  • Experience with designing and developing micro service based software solutions running Linux operating environment.
  • Ability to challenge and redefine existing architectural fundamentals in order to provide next level of performance and scalability; ability to foresee post-deployment challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with design and troubleshooting of scalable web services, REST APIs, advanced file systems, geographic replication, distributed databases and modern operating systems.
  • Experience with modern DevOps technologies such as Docker and container orchestration, service deployment, monitoring and scaling
  • Ability to work with multi-cultural, global teams and closely coordinate with cross-functional teams in different time-zones.
  • Passion to deliver enterprise-grade products to customers and to continuously work with engineering team to refine the product in the field.
  • Bonus points for candidates with cloud storage experience, experience with running and maintaining applications on public clouds like GCP, AWS etc, familiarity with protocols like S3, SMB, NFS etc and experience with SQL and NOSQL databases.
