Per Scholas is seeking a multi-talented Instructor and Technology professional to deliver high-quality instruction to a diverse alumni population who are seeking to upskill and acquire new credentials that will prepare them for the next step in their careers. Technical training competencies include, but are not limited to: Identify, analyze and respond to security events and incidents, networking, security, server, mobility, virtualization, and project management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Deliver classroom training in a highly interactive style to prepare adult students for entry-level to mid-level careers in Information Technology
  • Provide daily instruction, assessment administration, attendance, evaluation, and monitoring of individual student progress
  • Manage student behavior, monitor and enforce student class attendance, dress code, and other program policies in a consistent manner as a partner with your peers in the professional development of all adult learners
  • Work in collaboration with the Senior Director, Program Development and Design to identify and continually evaluate and evolve the curriculum as new technologies become available 
  • Maintain and update Salesforce and Canvas with student grades, certification, scores, and progress notes

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Professional Qualifications

  • At least 2 year of teaching experience
  • At least 2  year of IT Work experience
  • Experience with curriculum, syllabus development and lesson planning a plus
  • Experience with methods and strategies to explain and clarify complex topics to students with diverse experiences and educational backgrounds
  • Ability to connect real-life work scenarios to the teaching environment
  • Ability to help students apply professional skills to their delivery and participation in the classroom
  • Experience with student assessment; and a talent to continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum Ability to analyze and synthesize technical information

What You’ll Do:

  • Primary point of contact for Per Scholas Account Managers and clients for implementation, management, delivery, and service recovery of client-defined programs.
  • Partner with Account Management on client communications, reporting, quarterly business reviews, contract negotiations, and issue escalation and resolution. 
  • Evaluate, identify and develop functional business requirements and specifications for clients. Translate business requirements into well-written use cases and business requirements.
  • Works with Account Managers and clients, when necessary, to obtain requirements through interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, workflow analysis, and use cases.
  • Evaluate the information from those multiple sources to develop an understanding of the clients' business requests and needs and translate them into applicable operational requirements.

Per Scholas is launching an exciting new program focused on providing post-graduate, post-placement support to alumni in their two-year journey to reach a thriving wage and economic sustainability.  We are seeking to hire our first Advancement Coach that will test, learn, and iterate a new coaching concept focused specifically on alumni who are within two years of their graduation and will add to our comprehensive coaching model.  

The Advancement Coach will report to the VP, Innovation, and will conduct regular one-on-one post-graduate, post-placement coaching sessions with individuals who have been hired with our employer partners, as well as individual career coaching sessions with alumni who are within two years of graduation.  You will be responsible for ensuring graduates have an action plan to be “ready for work”,  as well as, attain and maintain employment.  In this role, you will work closely with employer partnerships (internally known as business solutions) to stay informed of occupations/careers suitable for your alumni accounts.  

 

What You’ll Do

  • Meet individually with participants to provide career and job retention coaching using and testing a new curriculum
  • Assist with developing resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles as well as identify readiness for employment and assist with the application and interview process
  • Drive alumni to the Alumni Portal to increase overall utilization
  • Ensure timely reporting of candidate progress through the pipeline within the database
  • Meet regularly with coaching and business solutions teams to check in on candidates and participate in training
  • Meet, as needed, with employer supervisors to support the ongoing success, development, and growth of alumni
  • Coordinate with sales and business solutions teams on any alumni in need of support
  • Meet organizational key performance indicators (KPIs) regarding alumni retention and thriving wage
  • Determining the personal and professional goals of individual clients and identifying potential challenges.  
  • Developing realistic and effective strategies toward realizing goals.  
  • Providing goal-oriented guidance and steps to success, as well as encouraging active participation.  
  • Facilitating follow-up sessions and integrating feedback.

Data Operations 

  • Deliver on all data tracking requirements for alumni engagement in Salesforce, with an eye to data integrity, real-time data updates and successful delivery on all reporting requirements and dashboard tracking against KPIs 
  • Provide comprehensive data capture, entry and analysis for all alumni engagement activity, managing day to day data operations and data entry 
  • Capture outcomes from alumni placement & training in Salesforce 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field or equivalent practical experience may be considered 
  • Experience working in a mentoring, advising, counseling, or coaching role
  • Communication skills, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, problem-solving skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and trust-building skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Suite preferred
  • Experience with marginalized (in poverty, justice-involved, etc.) folks a plus
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing skills are a plus

Overview

Per Scholas is seeking an experienced Director, Government Grants to join the national development team.This individual will be responsible for identifying, securing and managing financial resources from government agencies, including federal, state, and local government sources. Primary responsibilities include researching, identifying and writing grant applications for government funding opportunities and managing (in collaboration with program staff) the post-award process. You will partner witha team of experienced and talented Development professionals, and increase the share of revenue from government sources across Per Scholas markets in accordance with Per Scholas’ growth plan. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Identify and research new government funding sources, monitoring all pertinent government opportunities. 
  • Analyze all relevant RFPs, and prepare summary memos for Program and Development staff. Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to plan for all government grant opportunities. 
  • Lead the preparation and development of government grant proposals, including all external and internal outreach and planning required and the drafting of the narrative, budget, and all attachments; ensure that all internal and final deadlines are met and proposal components are being addressed by relevant staff, including development, fiscal and program staff.
  • Analyze program data to articulate goals, activities, anticipated outcomes, successes, challenges, etc. to funders.
  • Partner with the fiscal, program and development teams to ensure that reports are completed accurately and on time, as needed, including identifying new data or reporting needs to our Salesforce team in a timely manner. 
  • Develop testimony, support memos or program summaries for government agencies or legislative bodies as requested, in partnership with program team and development leads.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project officers and program managers at funder agencies to facilitate quality and timely reporting and continued funding.
  • Ensure all renewals and reports are accurately recorded in Salesforce for calendar management.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US:

 

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) required, Master’s degree or Law degree preferred.
  • At least five years of successful government grant-writing experience, preferably with state and local grants in key Per Scholas markets.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and copy editing skills; demonstrated grant writing success with state/federal funding opportunities preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a proactive communication style.
  • Proven research abilities, including gathering and interpreting data; government prospecting experience desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Google Apps for Business (Docs, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Chat, etc.).

Per Scholas Inc. is hiring a Remote QA Automation Instructional Assistant (IA)

Position start date: January 4, 2022
Class start date:January 18, 2022
Class end date:June 1, 2022
Location: (remote, but Denver-based preferred)

Overview 

As a QA Automation instructional assistant, you will support the lead instructor both in- and out-of-class in the teaching and administration of the class. Tasks may range from tutoring to monitoring learners over our Zoom conferencing software to overseeing our grade reporting efforts. 

Required Skill-Sets

  • Proficiency with Git
  • Proficiency with Java programming
  • Proficiency with JavasScript programming
  • Knowledge of UI Testing
  • Knowledge of API Testing
  • Ability to learn and communicate new tools Selenium, Postman, Jenkins and API test automation tools to generate integration tests. 
  • Knowledge or proficiency in CI/CD pipeline and test design in SDLC

In Class Tasks and Responsibilities
Required

  • Reinforce, or provide additional clarity for, the training or logistical items the instructor is introducing during class
  • Monitor learners during test-taking and break-out groups’ activities
  • Note challenges presented during class, including (but not limited to) learners who:
    • Seem disengaged or uninvolved with class activities
    • Are speaking more than other learners (dominating) or are typically quiet
  • Monitor use of learner and instructor video and audio. Check that instructor and learners:  
    • Are adequately lit
    • Fill the screen (camera needs to capture learners from the waist up, with minimal space above the head) 
    • Are on mute until it is time to speak
    • Can be adequately heard

Out-of-Class Tasks and Responsibilities
Required

  • Assist and/or collaborate with instructor to: 
    • Enter learner grades into Canvas and grading templates 
    • Prepare daily class agenda to learners 
    • Schedule time with learners to discuss class challenges
    • Coordinate with Curriculum Development Team or other staff to address learner challenges 
    • Update Salesforce data, as needed (requires Salesforce access)
    • Grade and/or review assessments, class projects, and other materials*
    • Review curriculum materials and assessments weekly and report to instructor and curriculum development team any proofreading or subject-matter errors*

Suggested:

  • Serve as class time-keeper, announce breaks and other scheduling information
  • Lead roll-call/learner-welcome activities: take attendance, pose warm-up questions, and greet learners. (This activity, combined with roll call, can vary.) 
  • Lead warm-up activities during other times in class (after lunch, @3pm, etc.)
  • Present and review lesson agenda and objectives 
  • Present class announcements on behalf of instructor
  • Tutor learners
  • Lead a unit with the supervision of the lead instructor*

*Activity requires subject-matter expertise and needs to be approved by the lead instructor
