The Lead Product Manager role extends the Senior Product Manager role expectations, and is the first career step in our senior Individual Contributor product management career path.


Lead Product Managers work in squads like other IC PMs, but possess a unique level of expertise, and often own specific topics within the product that extend across Domain boundaries. For Payroll, Lead Product Managers will lead work of a highly complex nature like Payroll Corrections and Payroll Configurations, and will be accountable for the intersections that naturally arise in other Domains such as Core HR.


Lead Product Managers are expected to coach and mentor other Product Managers, as well as assist with their career development. This includes being an official mentor with regular check-ins on larger initiatives with a focus on elevating the Product Manager's Career Development Framework skills development. Under certain circumstances there may also be the requirement for limited direct people management.


Lead Product Managers are expected to drive outsized business results via their direct contributions. This can include shaping product prioritisation, representing Product in GTM motions, driving efficiency with CX, unblocking future facing strategy via a heavy focus on iteration or the generation and utilisation of data to inform where we direct our investment. Lead PMs will ensure the successful execution of the initiatives they lead, either by identifying and establishing the operational modes necessary for collaboration, and/or by marshaling the Program resources required for success.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop a deep understanding of the market as well as our customers, their pains and jobs-to-be-done.

  • Systematically analyze user feedback and usage data  gathered qualitatively through Customer interaction and from quantitative sources

  • Create and align teams around strategic goals, relevant KPIs and a respective product roadmap often across Domain boundaries

  • Plan, enable, and execute against a product roadmap based on an objectively prioritized backlog that spans multiple teams

What you need to succeed
  • At least 8 years experience in SaaS or a relevant technical area of Product Management, preferably in a regulated environment

We are looking for a (Senior) Product Manager (f/m/d) who can help us push the boundaries of growth and innovation in a fast-paced environment while leading a mission-based squad as part of the Payroll Domain. You’d be leading a cross-functional squad of people determined to power up our sophisticated international payroll solution. 

How will you do this? 
By building highly customizable, state-of-the-art workflows, as well as a reliable, scalable, single source of truth for all the data we need to process payroll. Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the market as well as our customers, their pains, and jobs-to-be-done

The Role
At Personio, customer success is more than a specific role. Rather, it is an integral part of our corporate culture and defines the way our customer teams work. As part of the Customer Success Team, you will help our customers to understand the product, collect feedback, drive customer growth and help bring HR processes to a new level! The long-term satisfaction of our customers is your success! 

In our Customer Growth Team, you are a fundamental part of our growth strategy and responsible for maximizing our recurring revenue. You actively promote customer loyalty through close interaction with our existing customers throughout Europe. Join one of our beautiful offices around Europe in Amsterdam, Munich, Berlin, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona, London or work remotely. 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You own a portfolio of customers and are responsible for all commercial topics with the goal of increasing the net retention of your customer base
  • You qualify customers for upselling potential, independently conduct product demos and continuously build business relationships
  • You identify customer challenges, conduct escalation discussions, and communicate solution options to minimize risk prior to churn
  • You renew customers' contracts, prepare offers and negotiate prices
  • You are the first point of contact for customer billing issues, and you remind them to pay unpaid bills
  • You analyse behaviour and needs of customers (e.g. Health Score, NPS) and suggest specific actions to make them successful
  • You work with clear targets to be able to measure the success of your work
What you need to succeed
  • You are a strong communicator with excellent English & Italian Skills, both written and spoken
  • You have successfully completed your studies in economics, technical business administration, or a comparable course of study
  • You have been able to successfully prove yourself in sales, account or partnership management in the last 3-5 years, and you have ideally gained first experiences in the software environment
  • You are proactive, able to work independently, good at prioritizing your tasks, and you are a team player
  • You have ideally already worked with ticketing or project management software (e.g. Zendesk, JIRA, Gainsight, Confluence)
  • You have an affinity for software and your solution-oriented approach makes you a competent contact person for our existing customers
  • You are interested in HR and organizational topics and enjoy dealing with customers
