  • Apply modeling (advanced statistical methods, machine learning) to improve the accuracy of our experimental results (e.g. variance reduction techniques such as CUPED)
  • Be responsible for platform-wide Data Science process & analyses, defining company-wide experiment processes (delegation of authority when certain metrics are impacted, etc.), communicating good experimentation best practices and setting the standard for experiment design for the entire organization
  • Ensure high-quality and trustworthy experiment results and ensure that experimental designs lead to action
  • Collaborate with multiple engineers/product teams across the whole company to find technical solutions to complex experiment design challenges
  • Develop and adopt statistical methods that help Reddit teams better measure their feature areas

Who You Might Be:

Apps Platform works as a platform team for all other mobile engineers at Reddit to build on top of. Our customers are primarily other engineers. We set the direction in which the codebase builds towards by defining which design patterns and technologies to employ at Reddit.   • Work collaboratively with a team of software engineers and systems engineers to create and maintain the foundational platform for running Reddit’s infrastructure.
  • Design, write, and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit’s products.
  • Contribute feedback to the technical and strategic direction of the compute platform.
  • Automate critical aspects of the development process such as service creation and management, as well as critical infrastructure operations.

Who You Might Be:

  • 3+ years of experience developing internet-scale software, preferably in infrastructure roles.
  • Prior experience with cloud infrastructure systems is a plus (Kuberrnetes, AWS / GCE ecosystems).
  • Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages; Python, Go, Rust, Java, C++.
