Companies including Dollar Shave Club (acq. ~$1B by Unilever), Warby Parker (valued >$3B), Ro (valued at >$4B), and Allbirds (valued at $1.7B) highlight how brands can create more meaningful connections with customers while also retaining higher margins. At the same time, consumer expectations with shipping and logistics continue to increase, making it challenging for D2C brands to meet customer expectations.

ShipBob created a world class shipping and logistics platform that enables D2C brands to offer leading edge experiences (e.g., two-day shipping). ShipBob integrates seamlessly with other pieces of the eCommerce value chain (e.g., marketplaces like Shopify, FedEx for shipping, HappyReturns for returns, etc), enabling brands to focus on their core competency (i.e., product & branding) without sacrificing on shipping experience.ShipBob has raised over $330m in funding to fuel growth as the Company’s order volume doubled in 2020 and and again in 2021. ShipBob currently partners with over 20 3PL partners in the US, 1 in the UK, and 1 in Australia with plans for many more. With these strategically located partner warehouses, combined with ShipBob’s proprietary software, allow clients to optimize their inventory to be closest to customers, and as ShipBob expands its network, services such as next day and same day delivery will become a reality.

We pride ourselves on our inclusive and richly diverse company culture. All voices are heard regardless of tenure or job title.  We are looking for creative problem solvers with a strong work ethic and ability to persevere.

As the Director Of Engineering for B2B at Shipbob you will be building out our ShipBob B2B commerce experience.  ShipBob is the only global fulfillment provider that provides D2TC and B2B fulfillment under one roof.  You will build tools that allow our partners to fulfill B2B seamlessly alongside D2TC order fulfillment.  You and your teams will build integrations with B2B partners that allow our merchants to work with retailers both large and small worldwide.  You start with a single team and grow and multiply it as the B2B business grows.

Some of their responsibilities also include aligning engineering activities and projects with company goals and objectives, providing expert guidance and support, approving newly-developed policies from various departments, and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful as a Director of engineering, you should have exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills, years of successful people management experience, and a belief in developing the skills and talents of others. Ideal candidates will have experience in identifying and navigating organizational changes, a keen interest in international trends in engineering and leadership, and above-average emotional intelligence.
