ROLE BRIEF

We at Spectrum.Life are starting a new function called Commercial Finance, reporting into our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and this role will be the first hire and the lead of this team.

The Commercial Finance Lead will act as the link between the business and finance in ensuring the smooth reporting of actuals and budget performance, collaborating with the core finance team and growth/sales operations in the review and support their delivery of the financials. A key tenet of the role will be communication of P&L performance and positive / negative trends versus expectations.

This person will become a trusted member of the business and an extension of their teams, someone whose input is proactively sought by the business and support delivery of re-engineered financials that provide headline trends and key areas of improvement in the business. The Commercial Finance Lead will be an excellent communicator and can deal effectively with financial and non-financial people and is focused on building and maintaining excellent working relationships across the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the CFO to make a strong strategic, commercial and operational contribution to the success of Spectrum.Life
  • Ownership and responsibility for financial planning and analysis, delivering Spectrum.Life annual budget, longer term financial projections and delivery of cost effectiveness to the Exec team
  • Development and joint ownership of best-in-class financial models with CFO and Exec team for budgeting and performance management purposes (Market size / share / PVE variance analysis capability)
  • Support in the development of a mechanism for more efficient decision making / accountability in the business, in terms of investment and cost choices
  • Assist in the creation of a more rounded balanced scorecard Operations Reviews with functional leaders/Exec team that reflect key financials, commercial narrative and commentary, LTV:CAC analysis, impacts of product roadmap and key future challenges in the numbers
  • Delivering proactive ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision making in areas such as pricing, business casing customer acquisition, and other significant areas of expenditure
  • Assess need to redesign the “chart of accounts”, once built in a way that allows ready identification of key trends and detailed drill down capability simultaneously
  • Working with the Exec team and functional budget owners to ensure that plans, budgets and forecasts are kept up to date and both challenging and achievable
  • Delivery of best-in-class finance partnering to all sector pod leads, commercial leadership and special projects
  • Tight focus on Spectrum.Life position versus peers across a number of metrics, where available, Revenues, margins, customer acquisition etc. and have a detailed knowledge on our competitor intelligence when relevant, particularly when setting budgets

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-4 years commercial finance or finance business partnering experience

ROLE BRIEF

We at Spectrum.Life are seeking to hire a Revenue Accounting Lead, reporting into our Head of Finance and this role will have two direct reports.

The Revenue Accounting Leadwill act as the ‘go-to’ person for finance in ensuring the accurate, timely and relevant accounting of revenue from all our customer invoices, commercial contracts and agreements, collaborating with the finance team, account management, sales and growth/sales operations in the review and support their delivery of the financials. This accounting should align with the relevant accounting standards and companywide definitions around commercial contracts.

This person will become a trusted member of the finance team, a key lieutenant for the Head of Finance and a subject matter expert on the treatment of revenue from our commercial contracts and billing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that revenue is properly calculated and recorded in compliance with the relevant accounting standards and Sarbanes-Oxley guidelines in each of our legal entities’ financials
  • Create and update unbilled revenue and deferred revenue schedules for all customer billing, client projects and reconcile respective balances to the general ledger
  • Lead the revenue accounting in monthly financial close
  • Support in performing sensitivity analysis as to how new developments may impact the current business, cash flow, and financial results
  • Assist commercial and legal supports to ensure Spectrum.Life’s compliance with client specific MSAs, SOWs and booking forms
  • Review and become knowledgeable of all customer agreements, understanding staff deployment on projects and defined deliverables
  • Ensure proper intake and set-up of new customers and/or projects
  • Prepare contract summaries for material completed transactions, where necessary
  • Streamline and improve existing finance systems and processes to enable the business and finance function to scale, while also evaluating new tooling that may be implemented to accelerate efficiencies
  • Coordinate with customer operations and implementations teams to ensure accurate and timely data
  • Oversee, and assist where necessary, with accurate and timely invoicing of customers and invoice collections
  • Support annual audit process
  • Work on enhancing and implementing best in practice internal controls
  • Provide data & support for commercial finance/FP&A for use in executive reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist with any sales & use tax filings and lead of the tax treatment of business lines in our customer invoicing

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Detailed knowledge of software and SaaS revenue recognition
  • 2+ years’ experience in similar role

  • Work with clients delivering 1 to 1 wellbeing coaching, and group coaching (where needed), digitally delivered.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation around coaching work.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a proactive, reliable, and fully qualified Psychotherapist/Counsellor to help us provide access to professional services while also overseeing other individuals engaging in the service.

What is the role, and what are your responsibilities?

The role of Digital Client Care Counsellor is suited to fully qualified Psychotherapists / Counsellors. The Digital Client Care Counsellor is a key part of both the Spectrum Therapy team and the Employee Assistance Programme which provides access to professional services including psychoeducation and brief therapeutic support to employees experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The Digital Client Care Counsellor conducts screening assessments, makes recommendations based on screening assessments, delivers evidence informed brief interventions and oversees case management of individuals engaging with the service. They also participate in the evaluation and reporting of participation with the EAP service.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out screening assessments over the phone with individuals wishing to engage with EAP services, focusing on strengths as well as difficulties.
  • To conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as appropriate, with the support of our Psychological Triage team.
  • To identify current supports available to individuals contacting the service and develop goal focused, collaborative action plans.
  • To provide brief goal focused therapeutic support to individuals contacting the service.
  • Answering calls and maintaining a busy shared mail inbox
  • Scheduling appointments, liaising with clients and clinicians
  • To liaise and consult with other professionals working across the service as appropriate.
  • To contribute to research and evaluation of the EAP service as required.
  • To operate within all policies, procedures and guidelines of the SH and EAP service.
  • To participate in team meetings and attend other meetings as deemed necessary.
  • To be flexible regarding working hours in line with the needs of the project (incorporating occasional late evening and weekend work)
  • Reviewing and handling of cases/queries that need to be investigated/escalated either from individual service user perspective or client organisational level
  • Liaising with clinical governance around complex, high risk case
  • Working on specific tasks required relating to service development, expansion of service.
  • To work as scheduled on an on-call basis approximately once per month for overflow calls requiring urgent attention for a 24 hr period at a time 9 AM to 9 AM.

Essential Skills

  • A recognized qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy at Bachelor's level or higher, with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience.
  • Full accredited membership of a recognised professional body or organisation which is governed by a recognised code of ethics and disciplinary process (i.e. IACP, BACP, BPC, UKCP, BABCP, COSCA, ICP, APPI, PSI etc
  • Experience working with a variety of clients reflecting a wide range of clinical presentations.
  • Experience of screening clients & carrying out initial screening appointments.
  • Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computing skills: word processing, email, internet, ability to use a CSM software package.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with clients using short terms models of therapeutic intervention, particularly CBT
  • Experience working within an EAP service
  • Experience working on phone lines
  • Ability to work therapeutically in a language other than English.
  • Open to working a non-standard schedule (i.e., outside 9am to 5pm).

The EAP service offers employees and their family’s access to a team of qualified and experienced mental health professionals, who work with the presenting individual using short term models of therapeutic intervention to help alleviate distress.   • Be fully accredited with a recognised counselling/psychotherapy association/body which is governed by a recognised code of ethics and disciplinary process
  • At least 2 years post-accreditation clinical experience
  • Have appropriate insurance in place

  • To operate within all policies, procedures and guidelines of the EAP service.
  • To participate in team meetings and attend other meetings as deemed necessary.

Essential Skills andcore qualifications and skills:

  • Hold a recognized qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy at Level 5 or higher relevant qualification in Counselling
  • Minimum of 100 accrued counselling hours.
  • Individual membership and registration with a professional association or organisation which is governed by a recognised code of ethics and disciplinary process (i.e. IACP, BACP, BPC, NCPS, UKCP, BABCP, COSCA, ICP, APPI, PSI is an essential requirement
  • Strong computer skills and mastering current software and applications (such as Microsoft Office) Ability to work at a fast paced envioroment and to meet key objectives around call volume and quality.
  • Ability to adapt to both the ever changing client and organizational needs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multi-task, when needed
  • Strong empathy and listening skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, evenings, holidays etc. as per business needs
  • Experience working with a variety of clients reflecting a wide range of clinical presentations.
  • Experience of screening clients & carrying out initial screening appointments.
  • Strong risk assessment skills with regards to Child Welfare/Safety concerns, Suicide/Self-Harm, Substance Abuse etc.
  • Good clinical judgement and understanding of your responsibilities regarding confidentiality
