What You'll Need:

  • Experience working through the software development life cycle on software development teams and the associated tools (git, Jira, confluence, etc.)
  • Successfully deployed code/features, multiple times, while working in an Agile environment
  • Knowledge of browser versions, their quirks and the solution to said quirks
  • Experience using Node and related build automation tools
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with other engineers and cross functional team members
  • Willingness to take ownership of project priorities, deadlines and deliverables
  • Experience owning a project and coaching engineers through a project’s lifecycle
  • Understanding of how design systems and component libraries work

Ideally:

  • Keen grasp of the functional programming paradigm 
  • Use of virtualization and/or container technology (i.e. Docker)
  • Experience with visualization tools (d3, three.js, raphael.js) and Node.js is preferred, but not required

Your Role:

As a product manager at Tenable, you’ll help shape our products and services as well as collaborate closely with multiple teams of architects, engineers, program managers, and UX designers to address market needs as well as design and deliver enterprise- and government-grade vulnerability scanning capabilities.

For this Principal Product Manager role at Tenable, you will be responsible for two important missions:

  • Managing the roadmap for hybrid- and cloud-based vulnerability scanning and sensor and agent management capabilities in Tenable Vulnerability Management across the product life cycle – from ideation to roadmapping to planning to development to delivery, launch, and beyond.
  • Managing the discovery, roadmap, prioritization and delivery of public sector vertical requirements and authorizations for the Tenable Cloud Platform, especially FedRAMP.

Your Opportunity:

  • Partner closely with Architecture, Engineering, SRE, Program Management, and Public Sector Sales to develop an impactful roadmap for the Tenable Cloud Platform aligned with the needs of public sector customers, especially US Government agencies

    • Deeply understand and synthesize the requirements of state, local/regional, and national government agencies as well as the emerging landscape of regulatory mandates and government directives that are applicable to the Tenable Cloud Platform
    • Own the FedRAMP/StateRAMP authorization roadmap for the Tenable Cloud Platform and partner cross-functionally with Architecture, Engineering, SRE, and Program Management to ensure alignment and timely delivery
    • Collaborate with Public Sector Sales and/or government agencies directly to understand solution gaps, emerging requirements, mandates, and other changes on the regulatory landscape that may affect the Tenable Cloud Platform and its applications
    • Work cross-functionality across multiple product engineering and delivery teams to ensure their roadmaps and delivery plans are coordinated and aligned with your public sector roadmap
  • Manage the hybrid- and cloud-based vulnerability scanning and sensor and agent management capabilities in Tenable Vulnerability Management across the entire product life cycle -  from ideation to roadmapping to planning through development to delivery, launch, maintenance, and end of life.

    • Own and maintain the roadmap for the hybrid- and cloud-based vulnerability scanning in Tenable Vulnerability Management
    • Own and maintain the roadmap for sensor and agent management for Tenable Vulnerability Management
    • Develop effective product requirements and impactful roadmaps for current and future offerings and integrations; effectively communicate across multiple audiences.
    • Partner with Product Marketing, Sales/SE, and other teams to take enhancements and new releases to market effectively
    • Set and track KPIs for usage, adoption, and growth
    • Continuously collect feedback from all stakeholders to iteratively improve product experience and capability to generate user delight
    • Analyze and drive EOL for non-performing capabilities
  • Collaborate closely and build effective relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, especially Sales/SE, Support, Product Marketing, and more
  • Partner closely with Architecture, Engineering, and UX counterparts to deliver elegant, usable, and highly functional solutions

    • Deeply understand complex technologies as well as vulnerability scanning and sensor and agent deployment use cases to drive delivery of exceptional customer outcomes
    • In partnership with UX, champion the needs of Tenable’s users, ranging from SMB security practitioners to cybersecurity specialists with responsibility for scanning some of the largest and most complex networks in the world
    • Work cross-functionally to identify gaps and align development and delivery efforts - coordinate roadmaps with other Tenable product managers and product delivery teams
    • Identify problems in a timely manner and exercise good business judgment when making trade-offs
    • Make data-driven decisions and strive to find multiple solutions to problems 
    • Engage closely with Engineering and Architecture to help drive the right technology solution whilst balancing functionality, schedule and cost
  • Discover, analyze, and prioritize unmet customer needs using primary research, gap analysis, and other industry best practice methodologies
  • Analyze market trends as well as customer behavior and user preferences whilst keeping a keen eye on the competitive and threat landscapes
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication; effective presentation skills are a must

What You’ll Need:

  • BS/BE/B. Sc/B-Tech in computer science, software engineering or related discipline; MBA is a plus
  • US citizenship and residency in the United States
  • Strong technical background with experience in cybersecurity; experience in endpoint security or vulnerability management and/or working knowledge of Tenable products is a plus
  • Experience working with at least 2 of the following technologies: vulnerability scanning/assessment, enterprise endpoint security, enterprise-scale agent management, privileged access management, Zero Trust, and enterprise encryption and key management
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a cybersecurity product manager; background in vulnerability management or enterprise endpoint security is a plus
  • Experience with creating roadmaps and product requirements, launching products, and product lifecycle management
  • Experience achieving and/or maintaining FedRAMP/StateRAMP authorization for cybersecurity cloud services; experience achieving or maintaining compliance with other cybersecurity guidelines and certification regimes including HIPAA, FIPS 140-2, Common Criteria, NIAP, NIST SP, GDPR, IRAP, etc. is a plus
  • Ability to present technical information and plans to diverse audiences, especially audiences within government agencies
  • Highly analytical, data-driven mindset
  • Collaborative, team player with proven ability to lead cross-functional efforts

What You'll Need:
