Who We Are

The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see things not ordinarily possible and the ability to collect insights from a multitude of vantage points. As the world continues its digital transformation and relies more on cloud services and the Internet, the “network,” which is now both public and private, has become a black box our customers cannot see or understand.

Our Internet and cloud intelligence platform delivers the only collectively powered real-time view of the Internet and private networks, cloud, and SaaS platforms, helping enterprises and service providers identify problems before they impact revenue, damage brand reputation, or halt employee productivity.

In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within the Cisco Networking Business Group and is the Network Assurance solution for Cisco across the Cisco Networking Cloud and Cisco Security Cloud. Your work will focus on monitoring the performance and reliability of a wide range of technologies including applications, networks, cloud providers, and CDNs. Collaborating closely with top-tier engineering and product teams, you will take your pioneering ideas from prototypes to full-scale production. This will empower some of the world’s largest networks to efficiently monitor and analyze the root causes of various events.

As a member of our research team, you'll work with an extensive and unparalleled dataset gathered from some of the world's most extensive enterprise and public networks.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MS in Computer Science

  • Existing portfolio of network measurement research projects

  • Expert knowledge in Internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, HTTP, etc.)

  • Experience with networking tools (e.g. tcpdump, ping, etc)

  • Expert in Python

  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL (e.g., Mongo, Hadoop)

  • Superb written, verbal, and persuasive communication skills

A plus if you have

  • Industry research and development experience

  • BGP experience

Cisco values the perspectives and skills that emerge from employees with diverse backgrounds. That's why Cisco is expanding the boundaries of discovering top talent by not only focusing on candidates with educational degrees and experience but also placing more emphasis on unlocking potential. We believe that everyone has something to offer and that diverse teams are better equipped to solve problems, innovate, and create a positive impact.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification. Research shows that people from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy. We urge you not to prematurely exclude yourself and to apply if you're interested in this work.

ThousandEyes is hiring a Remote Senior Product Designer

Who We Are

The name ThousandEyes was born from two big ideas: the power to see things not ordinarily possible and the ability to collect insights from many vantage points. As organizations rely more on cloud services and the Internet, the network has become a "black box" outside their control. ThousandEyes gives organizations visibility and insight into the now borderless network. It gives them an accurate understanding of how the network impacts their applications, users, and customers. Today, ThousandEyes is central to the global operations of the world's largest and fastest-growing brands.

At ThousandEyes, we are fanatical about design. Our product is built to visualize the Internet and the services that flow across it. The Internet is a massively distributed system with thousands of networks at its core, serving half of the human population. As a Sr. Product Designer, you are going to solve data visualization problems at the Internet scale. We believe in innovation, simplicity, and elegance. Empowering organizations to see, understand and improve digital experiences everywhere.

About the Role

ThousandEyes is looking for a London or EMEA Remote Senior Product Designer who is excited to design and deliver best-in-class user experiences for our Intelligence and Endpoints Business’. Intelligence and Endpoints are built upon a large multi-domain dataset collected within the ThousandEyes platform. Providing advanced cross-layer correlation, intelligent event detection, forecasting, recommendations, and endpoint monitoring.

You will work with our customers, engineers, product management, and customer success to determine design requirements, create mockups, and user workflows, do user research, and provide feedback to constantly improve our product. You will be part of the full product development cycle, from strategic user decisions to pixel-perfect design delivery.

We are looking for someone who can collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to make complex, technical concepts intuitive and be responsible for designing broad areas of our product.

Reporting to the Director of Product Design, you’ll be responsible for chartering the design direction for some of the most important capabilities within our platform. As a product designer, you can expect to operate as an end-to-end product designer:

  • Design, conduct, and synthesize user research activities to help build a deep understanding of our users and address usability issues
  • Create user journeys, wireframes, detailed UX flows, prototypes, UI mockups, sketches, visuals, decks, and explanations that promote understanding and alignment with cross-functional teams
  • Simplify complexities around data visualization, helping our users get actionable insights seamlessly
  • Iterate based on feedback from various team members, users, and subject matter experts
  • Drive design decisions based on data from user metrics and qualitative interviews

What We're Looking For

  • Design Acumen: You will work closely with our team of product managers and engineers to understand the customer problems and apply design thinking approaches to build simple, cohesive product experiences
  • Product Sense: Our favorite product designers bring together insights from every corner to design and build the best product experience.
  • Curiosity: The best candidates understand that creativity and growth start with a curious, humble mindset and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Ownership: The best product designers take the responsibility of delivering a successful product to heart, and step in wherever needed, even if crossing typical role boundaries; they never shy away from the details nor lose sight of the bigger picture.
  • Communication: Effective communication with any audience (company leadership, engineering, customers, and more) is key to success in this role
  • Attitude & Ambition: The best candidates are smart, hard-working, competitive, and unafraid to fail. They are a team first but willing to take the lead with minimal guidance and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Have 5+ years of Product Design experience, ideally with demonstrated success in enterprise/SaaS software products
  • Experience and/or a passion for working with data visualization
  • Have a portfolio that showcases a proven track record of shipping user-centric design work

As organisations rely more on cloud services and the Internet, the network has become a black box they can't understand. Our Internet and cloud intelligence platform delivers the only collectively powered view of the Internet, cloud and SaaS platforms, helping enterprises and service providers work together to identify problems before it impacts revenue, damages brand reputation, or halts employee productivity.

In August 2020, Cisco Systems completed the acquisition of ThousandEyes, which now forms the ThousandEyes Business Unit within Cisco’s Network Services Business Group, and is a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Observability business.

What You’ll Do

This is a rare opportunity to work with one eye on the future, while staying closely rooted in delivering exciting new innovations. You will partner with leaders across ThousandEyes to determine how best to map technology solutions to new market opportunities, and be a role model for the Engineering team in delivery and teamwork. Read on if you like the idea of rolling up your sleeves and shipping code as well as thinking through the more strategic side of product development.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a product-focused engineering leader to help accelerate our market-leading End User Monitoring business. We are shipping new features and scaling rapidly as we look to dominate this emerging segment. This is an opportunity for you to join a team and product in an early stage of development and help lead it to greater things.

Here are some of the main things we are looking for:

  • Deep knowledge of Internet technology. You’ll be happy talking TCP, IP, ICMP, UDP and HTTP, and be able to understand deeply how these play together with our technology. You’ll have a strong sense of how customers configure their networks, and of the challenges and opportunities this brings.
  • Strong technical vision. You can collaborate with and beyond the team to formulate a compelling vision for the product and technology. You have the communication skills to sell it internally and to customers, and to make sure it is represented in the team’s strategy and roadmap.
  • Expert in software development. This is a hands-on role, so you will be excited by the opportunity to build new things. You will have many examples of successfully delivering complex enterprise software projects. We're particularly interested in finding someone with expertise in C++.
  • Natural collaborator. It takes a village to do anything worthwhile, and you’re happy working across Product Management, Product Marketing and Engineering to help shape the future direction of the product line.
  • Effective mentor. You have a passion to up-level the team and those around you. You are open to learning as well…nobody is an expert at everything.

Cisco is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, genetic information, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected basis. Cisco will consider for employment, on a case by case basis, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

The rise of as-a-service models has given birth to unknown dependencies that create blind spots for enterprise teams. Our product management team focuses on ingesting, visualizing, and correlating network flow traffic with our existing market-leading synthetics dataset. Our team helps customers solve problems that originate within the network infrastructure they own.

Your role will be pivotal in developing innovative solutions that provide real-time insights into network performance in the last mile and consumer environments. This position demands a blend of business acumen, technical expertise in network software, a deep understanding of ISP infrastructure, and a consumer-centric approach to problem-solving.

  • Lead the development and launch of cutting-edge solutions that enhance network visibility in the last mile and within the home.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams from both SamKnows and ThousandEyes to ensure seamless integration of technologies and expertise.
  • Engage directly with ISPs and consumers to thoroughly understand their connectivity challenges and tailor solutions to address these issues effectively.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends and position our products strategically.
  • Define a clear and ambitious product vision and roadmap, focusing on innovation, usability, and impact in network performance monitoring.
  • Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration, ensuring alignment with the product goals and adherence to development timelines.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to craft compelling narratives and tools that resonate with our target audiences, driving successful product adoption and market penetration.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in product management, with a significant focus on network performance software and ISP services.
  • Experience in enterprise/SaaS software products
  • Prior experience in a startup or dynamic technology environment, particularly involving network monitoring or management software solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of network performance metrics, diagnostic tools, and software applications relevant to ISP infrastructure and home networking.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into consumer-friendly solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, capable of leading diverse teams and engaging effectively with various stakeholders.
  • A self-starter attitude fueled by passion and energy, with the capability to drive innovation and lead change in a fast-paced industry.

ThousandEyes is also a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Full-Stack Observability (“FSO”) business.

About The Team

Digital experiences rely on a vast ecosystem of internal infrastructure, ISPs, cloud providers, SaaS applications and many other external services that are critically dependent on the Internet. ThousandEyes helps our customers make sense of these dependencies, mapping out the complex web of the Internet, and providing in depth intelligence on ways to improve their digital experience. ThousandEyes is sitting on a wealth of data and making this data more consumable for our customers is paramount.

The Network Assurance Data Platform is the big data platform across all of Cisco Networking. The NADP team leverages AI/ML technology to identify anomalies and provide guided remediation for our Cisco Networking customers. In partnership with the Cisco AI Assistant team, the NADP is looking to build out enhanced large language model (LLM) use cases to better help our customers leverage the intelligence we provide them.

About The Role

As a Senior Product Manager at ThousandEyes, you will own the natural language inference (NLI) and large language model (LLM) use cases on top of the platform. You’ll set direction by working directly with customers, and make plans come to life by leading a cross-functional team of design, engineering, and go-to-market. Your mission is to deliver meaningful customer and business value by shipping the right product at the right time.

What You’ll Do

  • Work across the ThousandEyes platform team and the Cisco AI Assistant team to bring NLI and LLM use cases to life in the platform.

  • Stay hands-on with customers to keep them happy today, while gaining insight for future ideas.
  • Thoughtfully prioritize to maximize the impact of engineering effort.

This role requires the ability to travel approximately once a quarter.

What We’re Looking For

  • Technical Acumen: You will work closely with engineering to understand technical tradeoffs and their impact on the product. Being comfortable in the code is a plus, but not required.
  • Product Sense: Our favorite product managers bring together insights from every corner (customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams) to design and build the best product experience.
  • Curiosity: The best candidates understand that creativity and growth start with a curious, humble mindset and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Ownership: The best product managers take the responsibility of delivering a successful product to heart, and step in wherever needed, even if crossing typical role boundaries; they never shy away from the details nor lose sight of the bigger picture.
  • Communication: Effective communication to any audience (company leadership, engineering, customers, and more) is key to success in this role.
  • Attitude & Ambition: The best candidates are smart, hard working, competitive, and not afraid to fail. They are team first but willing to take the lead with minimal guidance and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Have 3+ years of Product Management experience, ideally with demonstrated success in enterprise/SaaS software products.

Why Cisco

#WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.

We embrace digital, and help our customers implement change in their digital businesses. Some may think we’re “old” (36 years strong) and only about hardware, but we’re also a software company. And a security company. We even invented an intuitive network that adapts, predicts, learns and protects. No other company can do what we do –you can’t put us in a box! But “Digital Transformation” is an empty buzz phrase without a culture that allows for innovation, creativity, and yes, even failure (if you learn from it.)

Day to day, we focus on the give and take. We give our best, give our egos a break, and give of ourselves (because giving back is built into our DNA.) We take accountability, bold steps, and take difference to heart. Because without diversity of thought and a dedication to equality for all, there is no moving forward.

So, you have colourful hair? Don’t care. Tattoos? Show off your ink. Like polka dots? That’s cool. Pop culture geek? Many of us are. Passion for technology and world changing? Be you, with us.

We recognize that diverse teams make the strongest teams, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.

  • Have a strong portfolio that showcases your design work
  • Can articulate the reasoning and critical thinking behind your design decisions

ThousandEyes is hiring a Remote Senior Technical Product Manager, Cloud-Native & Real-Time User Data

ThousandEyes is also a foundational component of Cisco’s growing Full-Stack Observability (“FSO”) business.

About The Team

Digital experiences rely on a vast ecosystem of ISPs, cloud providers, SaaS applications and many other external services that are critically dependent on the Internet. This rapid increase towards as-a-service models has given rise to unknown dependencies that plague enterprise teams with blindspots that are hard to discover without a new toolset. The “cloud” represents a new architecture to server users and employees and requires a deep understanding of the full stack from users to apps.

The cloud-native and real-time user data teams will work on our emerging initiatives to research new ways to extend ThousandEyes intelligence from the Internet deep into the cloud. Additionally, this team will also be responsible for working with Cisco colleagues to gather flow based telemetry that works together with our synthetics product to solve customer problems.

About The Role

As a Senior Product Manager at ThousandEyes, you will own the success of our cloud-native and flow based initiatives and work alongside our Internet & WAN synthetics team to drive customer outcomes. You’ll set direction by working directly with customers, and make plans come to life by leading a cross-functional team of design, engineering, and go-to-market. Your mission is to deliver meaningful customer and business value by shipping the right product at the right time.

What You’ll Do

  • Generate and shepherd creative ideas, both large and small, that bring value to customers and the business.

  • Lead a cross-functional team of engineering and design to ship product experiences that customers love.

  • Stay hands-on with customers to keep them happy today, while gaining insight for future ideas.

  • Partner closely with go-to-market teams to make sure potential customers understand how the product can benefit them.

  • Thoughtfully prioritize to maximize the impact of engineering effort.

  • Bring curiosity, positivity, and an entrepreneurial approach to each day.

  • Have 5+ years of Product Management experience, ideally with demonstrated success in enterprise/SaaS software products.

  • Experience and/or passion for working with data visualization
