Purpose of the role

As a Retail Pricing Manager at Zego, you will play a critical role in driving the company's pricing strategy, with a direct impact on key business growth lines. You will own the end-to-end retail pricing process for a diverse range of motor products, ensuring that pricing decisions align with our innovative, data-driven business model. As a senior member of the team, you will lead the development of retail pricing models, support cross-functional teams, and act as a thought leader, driving the adoption of cutting-edge techniques within the pricing domain. Your role will be essential in scaling our pricing function as we continue to grow across the UK and European markets.

What you will be working on

  • Collaborate with the Director of Pricing to implement strategic pricing decisions for new and existing motor products.
  • Manage the launch pricing for innovative insurance products such as telematics basedmotor insurance, tailoring strategies for multiple markets.
  • Monitor and assess performance, ensuring business objectives are met across the product portfolio, providing recommendations for adjustments based on data insights.
  • Contribute to the adoption of advanced pricing techniques, including telematics and data science methods, and support innovation within the retail pricing function.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, product, data science, account management, and leadership to provide insights and achieve business objectives.
  • Assist in mentoring junior team members, contributing to a collaborative and high-performance culture.

What you will need to be successful in the role

  • 5+ years experience in a retail pricing role, with a strong background in motor or insurance sectors.
  • A track record of managing retail pricing strategies, with a creative mindset and willingness to challenge traditional pricing methods.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills; proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or equivalent is required, with experience in data-driven approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and influence key decision-makers.
  • Ability to balance commercial objectives with pricing integrity and maintain a high level of analytical rigor.
  • Experience in mentoring or coaching junior team members, fostering collaboration within the team.

Overview of the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our finance team on a 3-month contract. This role is crucial in supporting the implementation of internal controls, assisting with external audits, and preparing draft financial statements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Financial Accountant with a background in audit, ideally from one of the Big 4 firms, to bring their expertise into a dynamic and fast-paced 

What you will be working on

Internal Controls Implementation:

    • Assess, design, and implement financial controls across the group to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
    • Identify and rectify any control weaknesses, ensuring best practices in financial reporting.
    • Collaborate with various departments to ensure controls are integrated effectively. 
    • This will include GITC and application controls

Audit Support:

    • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors (Deloitte)  to facilitate the audit process.
    • Ensure all audit requests are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Prepare necessary supporting documentation for the auditors and address any inquiries.

Drafting Financial Statements:

    • Support the preparation of year-end financial reports and disclosures.
    • Coordinate with the Finance Director. Financial Controller and other stakeholders on financial reporting matters.

Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes and improve efficiency.
    • Provide recommendations on enhancing internal financial policies and procedures.

Project Support:

    • Support the finance team with projects where required. An example will include the migration and consolidation of funds to new bank account 

What you will need to be successful

  • Professional Qualification: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting or audit.
  • Previous experience working in a Big 4 audit firm is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience with internal controls, financial statement preparation, and audits.
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS & UK GAAP.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting systems and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Role Overview:

As the Policy Validations Fraud Team Leader at Zego, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of fraud Investigators. Your primary focus will be on managing the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring that fraud cases are handled proactively but with laser focus on quality and excellence whilst also understanding applying a commercial and pragmatic approach.. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of motor insurance and fraud, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management:

    • You will lead, manage, and develop a team of Policy validation executives, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
    • You will set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and support to team members.
    • You will ensure the team operates efficiently, with well-defined roles, responsibilities, and objectives.
    • You will undertake regular 121 review sessions with your team members in accordance with frequency agreed with your line manager and ensure development plans and priorities are in place to ensure continuous improvement through self learning including growth and goal setting.
    • You will own the strategy and team capacity planning ensuring the right people are in the right place and the right volumes are coming through to the team

Fraud Detection, Investigation:

    • You will oversee the detection, investigation, and resolution of potential fraud cases within the policy process.
    • You will ensure that all policies flagged for fraud are thoroughly investigated, with appropriate actions taken to mitigate risk.

Operational Management:

    • You will manage the daily operations of the policy validation fraud team, including case assignment, workload distribution, and process optimisation.
    • You will develop and implement best practices for fraud detection, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • You will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance and identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration & Communication:

    • You will work closely with other departments, including Claims teams, Organised policy fraud team,  Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, and Customer Service, to ensure a coordinated approach to fraud prevention.
    • You will liaise with external stakeholders, such as panel solicitors, law enforcement, industry bodies, and fraud prevention networks, to enhance fraud detection capabilities.
    • You will communicate findings and insights from fraud investigations to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.

Training & Development:

    • You will identify training needs within the team and provide appropriate development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • You will complete regular quality audits on policy investigators 
    • You will stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in fraud detection and prevention, and ensure the team is informed of relevant updates.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • You will have previous demonstrable experience within motor insurance 
  • Fraud experience is an advantage, but it is not essential if you can demonstrate a strong operational background
  • You will have great previous experience in coaching and mentoring

You will partner with the Street Pricing and Pricing, Tooling, & Modelling teams in initiating and driving the vision, strategy, and deliverables to meet key objectives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

What we are looking for

You will use a combination of outstanding analytical reasoning, business acumen, and technical skills to bring the risk, demand, and market models to an implementable, technical price. You will use your ability to analyse and understand complex data to drive decisions on technical pricing models. You will have strong cross-functional skills and will be comfortable working closely with both actuarial and non-actuarial teams. You should be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Pricing, Tooling & Modelling team to review, challenge, and contribute to the development of risk, demand, and market models
  • Develop the implementable, technical price based on the underlying models taking a mid- to long-term view of performance, external trends, costs etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the Street Pricing team to bring the technical price to market, with required commercial adjustments.
  • Define and drive the Pricing Sophistication Strategy and Roadmap for Zego including a continuous monitoring of the performance of all technical prices
  • Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs aimed at the forward looking performance of each book, including the expected, prospective rating strength
  • Analyse insurance data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvements
  • Collaborate with product, tech, and pricing teams to implement pricing changes effectively

Purpose of the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level Front-End Engineer to join our amazing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in front-end development, specifically with Next.js, and a passion for building high-quality web applications.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Next.js.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to team and personal learning.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

What you need to be successful:

  • 3-4 years of professional experience in front-end development.
  • Strong proficiency in Next.js.
  • Familiarity with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG).
  • Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and related front-end technologies.
  • Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX).
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Knowledge of modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Babel).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

  • Experience with other JavaScript frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Experience with performance optimization techniques and tools (e.g., Lighthouse, WebPageTest).
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for front-end development.
  • Experience with analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude, Google Analytics).
  • Experience with localization and internationalisation of web applications.

Our hybrid way of working is unique. We don't mandate fixed office days. Instead, we foster a flexible approach that empowers every Zegon to perform at their best. We ask you to spend at least one day a week in our central London office. You have the flexibility to choose the day that works best for you and your team. We cover the costs for all company-wide events (3 per year), and also provide a separate hybrid contribution to help pay towards other travel costs. We think it’s a good mix of collaborative face time and flexible home-working, setting us up to achieve the right balance between work and life.

Zego is hiring a Remote Client-side Application Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Client-side Application Architect to manage the architecture of our Mobile App and Front End teams, ensuring they deliver scalable, high-quality solutions for both customer-facing and internal applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive UX knowledge gathered from various industries, experience managing teams and the ability to balance strategic leadership with a hands-on technical role. You should excel in mentoring, setting long-term goals, and guiding your direct reports toward achieving these objectives. Additionally, your proficiency should extend to hands-on technical activities like pair programming and architectural decision-making, along with effectively resolving complex issues.

What you'll be working on

  • Lead customer experience Front End and Mobile Engineers on projects for users and be directly responsible for ensuring high performance on both mobile and web.
  • Mentor and support engineers in growth and development
  • Work closely with UI/UX designers and Product Management to refine applications and create optimal user experiences.
  • Develop and optimise front-end functionalities using React and Next.js.
  • Support Product Management’s conversion rate optimisation goals.
  • Maintain and enhance existing software solutions with up-to-date technology.
  • Ensure high quality through enhanced monitoring and alerting
  • Lead by example, manage team leads and mentor junior developers contributing to the team's knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure code integrity standards and oversee the software development lifecycle.
  • Manage on-call rotations across the customer experience engineering team.

What you'll need to be successful

  • You will have strong background in full stack development, with a strong emphasis on front-end technologies.
  • You will have significant experience of multi-team people management, and experience managing teams of 10+ in size.
  • You will have demonstrable experience designing, analysing, and troubleshooting customer facing conversion issues
  • You will have deep expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript and strong knowledge of the Next.js framework.
  • You will have a comprehensive understanding of browser internals.
  • You will have a strong understanding of the multi-platform mobile development lifecycle, including design, architecture, deployment, and maintenance across platforms using Kotlin, Swift, and React Native.
  • You will have experience with API integrations including RESTful, GraphQL and gRPC.
  • You will have demonstrable experience of user tracking technologies and constraints, including cookies, third party cookie restrictions, and their use in conversion rate optimisation and revenue attribution.
  • You will have a Knowledge of tracking technologies like Google Analytics, Amplitude and Segment.
  • You will have an ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, juggling tactical and strategic deliverables effectively.
  • You will have experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and good familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (git).
  • You will have a knowledge of accessibility and security compliance.
  • You will have experience in programmatic buying or a background working in or with digital agencies.
