  • Have 1+ years of software development experience with time spent working on Cloud technologies (AWS, Google Compute, Azure). AWS with Kubernetes is greatly preferred
  • Understanding of programming languages such as Golang, PHP, Ruby or similar.
  • Comfortable navigating unix/linux based operating systems
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Collectd, Fluentd, Prometheus, Sumo Logic, Grafana, New Relic, Cloudwatch, Splunk, Nagios or willingness to learn.
  • Strong interest in building and operating distributed systems and/or service oriented architectures.
  • Passion for Devops processes and tools (Jenkins), distributed configuration management systems (Ansible, Puppet) and maintaining infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloudformation)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) specifically tailored for AWS and Linux systems.
  • Deploy and maintain software on Linux server base using configuration-as-code tools (eg. Puppet or Ansible.)
  • Implement and optimize containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes on AWS.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging toolsets like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Leverage AWS services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, and others to architect and deploy scalable and resilient solutions.
  • Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM roles, security groups, encryption, and monitoring.
  • Configure and administer Linux-based systems, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application-related issues in a timely manner within the AWS and Linux environment.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning using AWS monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELK stack) and Linux monitoring tools.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices throughout the infrastructure, Kubernetes environment, AWS services, and Linux systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability in a Kubernetes environment on AWS and Linux.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in DevOps, cloud technologies, AWS services, the Kubernetes ecosystem, and Linux administration.

 

Qualifications & Requirements (We will consider candidates with a subset of these qualifications, eg if you have some exposure to K8s but solid AWS)

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes container orchestration, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
  • Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible, specifically tailored for AWS and Linux systems.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services an/d hands-on experience with core services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, etc.
  • Experience with AWS container services like Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, or self-managed Kubernetes on AWS.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) in an AWS and Linux context.

Agero is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help with the design, implementation and maintenance of scalable, and efficient infrastructure. This role will involve collaborating with Engineering and QA teams to automate manual processes, and ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of our systems.

Key Outcomes: 

  • Review, troubleshoot and approve pull requests drafted by more junior engineers and approve and offer feedback that will improve code quality

About the Role

The Zendesk Administrator - Customer Support Systems will be responsible for working across teams and organizations to ensure that the architecture and design are of high quality, stable, scalable, and reliable. You would drive the technical design and best engineering practices through design reviews, architecture reviews, user validation activities, and business customer interactions. 

The candidate will be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements in the customer support domain. A strong expertise in Zendesk for service CRM will be key to success in this role.

In this role, you will: 

  • Manage, design, configure, test, deploy, and support the Customer Support ecosystem comprised of Zendesk, Twilio, Assembled, AgentConnect, and many other technologies
  • Partner with Business Systems Analysts and Product Managers to shape product definition and requirements so that configurations or interfaces can be built in a flexible, extensible, and robust way in addition to assisting in driving technology vision, strategy, and roadmap to build enterprise capabilities (scalability, fault tolerance, extensibility, maintainability, etc.)
  • Lead and mentor technical teams in a continuous Agile approach of integration dev/deploy format
  • Create, update, and manage tasks & stories in JIRA to support day-to-day requests, system issues, and timelines
  • Support with high expectations and provide feedback on configuration, code, and architectural approaches implemented by the team
  • Implement critical interfaces and complex modules of the systems and features while assisting the business and tech teams with disassembling, designing, and configuring Zendesk to meet and address technical requirements and resolve current process issues
  • Maintaining multiple sandboxes and keeping them up to date with code, configuration, and data
  • Onboarding and offboarding users and maintaining roles and permissions
  • Monitor any incidents/outages with Zendesk and share with the audience while taking ownership of the resolution
  • Partner with the software vendors, staying up to date on the new features and technologies, driving and performing the assessment of features for business applicability, and implementing the features.
  • Implement state of art monitoring to maintain the systems 100% up time
  • Provide on-call support as per the team roster

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 4+ years of Zendesk experience as an administrator of the system
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables
  • Strong experience and understanding of Zendesk and out-of-the-box features and capabilities
  • Previous hands-on experience developing mid-tier API systems merging different third-party systems together. Experience with the Zendesk API suite is a huge plus
  • Ability to write technical specifications, define business solutions, and convey ideas to business users in a meaningful yet insightful manner is extremely important
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and proven success in a dynamic and collaborative environment

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy:Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques, data governance concepts, and database design principles

Desired Skillset:

  • Experience working with the Federal Government.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience working with Agile Teams utilizing Scrum.

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical field of study.

Clearance Requirement:

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
