The Position:

FastSpring is looking for an Engineering Technical Lead to join a growing team designing and developing our industry-leading full-service e-commerce platform and supporting services. This person will also be deeply engaged in the end-to-end application architecture, design, development, testing and operationalization of products.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Provide technical leadership across our agile software development teams to design and develop product features for highly available payment processing, subscription billing and reporting platform
  • Implement best practices for development and coding enterprise-class solutions and grow and lead a best-in-class development organization by creating and supporting collaborative work environments requiring high engagement, performance, and efficiency.
  • Break requirements into written phased development that can be developed and deployed by multiple teams
  • Using strong project management skills lead development projects ensuring they stay on track. Provide progress updates to all levels of the organization
  • Ensure a robust software delivery process through clear procedures as well as automated build, test, and deployment capabilities
  • Reduce time to market by decomposing large feature requirements into small development tasks suitable for incremental releases
  • Provide design and code review with other team members to ensure best practices are being followed
  • Support and lead agile planning/scoping activities with assigned Product Owner.
  • Conduct technical deep dives on existing applications to maintain reuse existing code while creating and managing development iteration plans
  • Actively facilitate monitoring of quality to support continuous improvements
  • Coordinate all software designing, planning, development, and maintenance deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Help scale our backend architecture and migrate to a service-oriented future
  • Ensure standards for engineering excellence, scalability, reliability, and reusability
  • Mentor junior members of the development team 
  • Flexible hours to work with local and remote team members on feedback and requirements
  • Respond to production issues and apply continuous improvement techniques to fully resolve them

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience withSoftware architecture, design & development experience delivering highly scalable commercial SaaS solutions using Java
  • Have passion for Engineering Excellence and commitment to delivering high quality products.
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose large projects into smaller phases that can be developed and deployed independently
  • Able to communicate technical direction at all levels of the organization
  • Technical Project Management Skills
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, and bring creative solutions forward
  • SQL and NoSQL storage expertise
  • Experience implementing RESTful service-oriented architectures with public APIs
  • HTML / CSS / JavaScript / JQuery / Angular / React experience
  • Test driven development, unit testing, mocking and automation experience
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, including EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB; experience with Lambda and Redshift is a plus
  • Experience with LINUX; experience with containers & docker is a plus
  • Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in Computer Science

Job Description

In this role as a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be working for Neueda (Integrating into Version 1). You will be working in support of our expanding global customer base and ambitious growth plans, we are looking to strengthen our technical capability within the organisation. To support this projected growth we want to attract talented Senior React Engineers who will become key contributors to our engineering teams

Qualifications

As a Frontend Engineer (JavaScript, Angular, React) you will need: 

  • 5+ years development experience 
  • Experience with JavaScript. HTML5, Angular, Typescript.   
  • Experience with ReactJS, NodeJS is preferable
  • Front end development with a SPA framework.
  • Familiar with all phases of software development; from requirements gathering and design through to build, deployment and support 
  • Strong experience of unit and regression testing 
  • The ability to operate well under a variety of different situations and types of projects.

  • Experience in developing and working with data ingestion pipelines for analytics desired.
  • Experience with distributed computation platforms such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Presto.
