Job Description

While supporting our client, a multinational cybersecurity company, the Sr. Network Cloud Engineer will be responsible for development, management and maintenance of enterprise applications including working across teams in a collaborative (DevOps) formation. 

The Sr. Network Cloud Engineer will be responsible for technology advances and direction, while also supporting project managers and various business towers as a consultant and subject matter expert for the end-point compute environment.

Scope: 

  • Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, maintain, and scale production services in public cloud environments.
  • Write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at massive scale.
  • Build processes and automation to proactively manage and maintain highly scalable cloud services.
  • Work with development teams to make sure the applications fit nicely within the infrastructure and scalability/reliability is designed and implemented from the ground up.
  • Develop tools for enabling CI/CD, automated testing and release management.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, formulate theories and test your hypothesis, and narrow down possibilities to find the root cause.
  • Postmortem reviews and remediation recommendation.
  • Mentor and train security engineers in cloud deployed and delivered services.
  • Document and follow defined RMA processes and procedures for all relevant vendors.
  • Triage all incoming requests through the ticketing systems and apply first attempt troubleshooting steps (escalate trouble tickets when required)
  • Record, track, and document the tasks request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years industry experience with at least 2 years experience in DevOps automation and tooling, including cloud SRE roles and/or training in information/cyber security, computer systems, or IT
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Strong knowledge with Cloud technologies (Google Cloud preferred or AWS)
  • Software background with with Scripting and Automation experience (Terraform, Kubernetes, Python).
  • Experienced in Next Gen Security - App Layer Firewall (Palo Alto Networks preferred).
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • You’re a hands-on engineer who leads by doing.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security architecture, web application security, and security engineering.
  • You can leverage DevOps tools to build, harden, maintain and instrument a comprehensive cloud-based security orchestration platform to be consumed in product CI/CD pipelines (Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet).
  • Developed automated security and compliance capabilities in support of DevOps processes in a large-scale cloud computing environments.
  • Integrate security practices across a continuous delivery pipeline to provide a comprehensive automated cloud and application security solution.
  • Experience in building scalable dashboards for monitoring and troubleshooting SaaS applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, isolate and resolve issues related to systems or networking quickly.
  • Experience collecting metrics, measuring systems and interpreting data to make decisions.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple issues.
  • Take responsibility for creating design specifications and prepare technical documentation.
  • Support the development of standards by creating templates and patterns for ease of use and increase the productivity of the security program.
  • Foster, and build a community of practice for collective learning of the security tools, practices, and systems across all disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of IP Networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and Firewall experience.

The Principal Security Architect/Engineer is an individual contributor who will participate in all aspects of security design and implementation across Mattel. Your Impact

  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to prospects and customers working with your Account Manager and the local partners within your territory

  • Lead conversations about industry trends and emerging changes to the security landscape that every customer needs to be aware of

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Experience as a professional services engineer, consultant or IT/operations engineering
  • Good understanding & expertise of tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD (Jenkins, Github, etc)

  • Understanding of API based security and compliance standards and Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems and scripting

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex multivariate problems and find a systematic approach to gain a quick resolution, often under duress

  • Mature and effective time-management skills

  • Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud installation, configuration and administration of security features and services including identity and access management, service-related security features, networking, firewalls, encryption, and related standard methodologies

  • Proficiency with cloud networking models and connectivity, network security, virtualization, and cloud computing

  • Working experience with customers, consulting, team lead, configuring and fixing network infrastructure security products

  • Travel up to 10% within the designated region, country, and/or theater, International travel also required on ad-hoc basis

  • Programming experience in a higher-level language such as NodeJS, Ruby, Chef, Puppet, YAML, JSON, and/or Python

  • Experience from companies in the enterprise networking security space

  • Deep understanding of exploits, malware, ransomware, and etc. along with their creation and activation

Team Lead Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Team Lead / Individual contributor to the Managed Services Organization
  • Act as a player/coach to the Support organization
  • Oversee daily coordination of ticket queues
  • Assist with developing internal tools and best practices for analyzing and resolving customer issues in an expedient and efficient manner
  • Identify emerging issues, communicate it with the relevant team and contribute to internal and external knowledge base systems as necessary

      Minimum Required Experiences

      • 2 years of relevant professional work experience
      • Familiar with Cloud capabilities, products and services for Azure, and other Microsoft products and services (i.e. Azure Information Protection, Microsoft Cloud App Security, Microsoft 365, etc.).
      • Experience consulting with engineering teams on designing and implementing Cloud or Data Center solutions including aspects like compute, network, storage, security, monitoring, automation, and cost optimization
