What this job can offer you

This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Country Manager, joining our Global Payroll Operations team. As a dynamic and energetic professional, the Country Manager will own the planning, and implementation of our Payroll chapter.

You will be reporting to Manager, Payroll Operations.

What you bring

  • 10+ years of work experience in APAC payroll / Global payroll operations
  • Understanding of payroll best practices.
  • Experience in implementing payroll and managing relationships with third party payroll services.
  • You are passionate about managing people, and you don't micromanage your reports.
  • Proficient in using software tools like SAP, Excel / Google Sheet.
  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, international work environment with a passion for making an impact.
  • Is a productivity geek and will constantly think of ways to improve and speed up their work.
  • You understand the need and ideal to work largely asynchronously.
  • It's not required to have experience working remotely, but is considered a plus.
  • You write and speak fluent English.

Key Responsibilities

  • The APAC Payroll team will report to you and you will provide them with guidance and mentorship.
  • The Country Manager, Payroll Operations will own the complete payroll function, ensuring payroll is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with country specific government regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact between internal and external stakeholders on all APAC payroll related matters.
  • Lead the APAC Payroll team, unblock and support them.
  • Be up to date with payroll laws / regulations in APAC.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate and country-specific regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Manages existing relationships with payroll, accounting and payroll service providers.
  • Develop and implement best practices, key performance indicators and SLA metrics for the team.
  • Grow the team and create country specific SOP’s, processes and guidelines which tie in with other departments processes.
  • Oversee the payroll contributions to building of our internal products

At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce.  We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $32,445 USD - $71,232USD. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.

The Country Sales Manager, China is responsible for leading all aspect of Sales within China. The Country Sales Manager, China support in all facets of field sales activities, with keen attention toward scaling the organization, executing on strategic plans, exceeding sales goals, and delivering on our corporate vision and core values.

What you will be doing:
• Lead sales team to meet or exceed sales targets in defined sub-region
• Excel in identifying, hiring, and retaining top talented personnel
• Provide excellent leadership, coaching, training, and development to sales teams
• Successfully direct sales managers and their teams in the planning, implementation and execution of strategic plans for effectively positioning and selling of 10x products
• Effectively work with Regional Marketing to plan and execute market development activities aligned with our strategic initiatives
• Work with Marketing to develop and maximize the impact of launch plans for in-line and near-to-market products
• Deliver accurate forecasting in a timely ongoing fashion
• Contribute to corporate planning as required (may include Commission Plans, Strategic Planning, Brand, Contracts/Agreements, Pricing, Business Development, Quality, etc.)
• Provide expert opinion and comprehensive business analysis on business opportunities
• Serve as a main point of contact for interactions with key vendors and agencies
• Excel in promoting a high performance staff through honesty, integrity and commitment to the support and development of the team, organizations, and our customers
• Continually demonstrate excellent executive leadership behaviours and positively partner with all levels of the organization

Minimum Qualifications:
• Proven effective sales management/leadership experience along with demonstrable complex sales within the life science industry
• Biotech/Pharma market experience
• Effective management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills, with excellent judgmental and decision making capabilities
• Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner
• Able to prioritize and drive to results with an emphasis on quality
• Strong English verbal, written, presentation, and computer (Excel, Word, PPT, SFDC etc.) skills
• BA or BS (or equivalent)
• In-depth understanding of the sales, sales training, marketing and customer service processes
• In-depth understanding of systems that support and track sales and contract performance
• Travel requirement: minimum 50%

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Advanced degree desirable (MS, MBA, PhD, MD)
