Overview

LivePerson Voice is a state-of-the-art, born-in-the-cloud SaaS offering. Our Cloud platform is a multi-tenanted solution hosted on GCP using a modern technology stack. Most of our cloud software is deployed as microservices written in Node.JS on top of a NoSQL DB stack (MongoDB, Firebase, ElasticSearch). Our telephony connector layer is a mixture of ASP/.Net and Java code.

The customer facing app is written in TypeScript using the modern Angular framework. It is deployed in several different contexts including as a Chrome extension, Electron desktop applications for both Windows and Mac, and embedded in a number of CRMs (including Salesforce) in an iFrame.

You will be working directly with the customer facing application. As a Software Developer you will build components of the LivePerson Voice  product with a focus on stability and innovation. You will be adding new features, creating new UX, and working to delight our customers.

You Will

  • Work with Product Management and UX designers to create delightful user experiences
  • Create platform-independent code that can be run on multi-browser, multi-OS environments
  • Produce engineering specifications, delivery estimates, and implement solutions based on product requirements.
  • Provide technical documentation for the solutions that you implement
  • Collaborate with peers on specifications, code reviews, and testing.
  • Write unit and automated end-to-end tests to improve code quality and maximize code coverage for new and existing features.
  • Meet KPIs for engineering team and be responsible for them on a weekly basis
  • Communicating with customers and partners to be able to provide business value and engineering value to the problems at hand. 
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint planning sessions, grooming sessions, and retrospectives.

You Have

  • 4+ years experience writing code with TypeScript, Angular or equivalent frameworks.
  • Familiarity with either Chrome extension development and/or Electron framework development is a plus.
  • Exposure to reactive programming (i.e. RxJS)
  • Candidates with experience integrating telephony, CRM or CTI applications is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

You will be part of the LivePerson SRE team building and managing highly available, distributed systems. You will: 

  • Lead a team to ensure product high uptime and reliability 24x7.
  • Give technical leadership and support to your team and stakeholders such as development teams, data team, and leadership.
  • Being hands-on with your team on day to day operations of cloud environments, Kubernetes platform, data and messaging platform, and security/compliance

You have:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience of managing cloud based production environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficient in collaborating with various stakeholders
  • Solid hands-on experience and understanding of system architecture
  • Highly experienced working in the Linux environment, good scripting in Bash / Python.
  • Highly experienced working configuration management systems like Puppet, OpsCode Chef, Ansible, etc.

  • Experience in monitoring resources and alerting systems such as Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, DataDog and PagerDuty
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines orchestrators like TeamCity, Jenkins, Gitlab.
  • Highly motivated and independent.
  • Team player and excellent interpersonal Skills.
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

As a backend software engineer at Arista, you own your project end to end.     • Strong knowledge of common data infra technologies (Python, Scala, Kafka, Airflow, Spark, Iceberg, Delta Lake) in a production environment
    • Strong knowledge of common industry data stores or warehouses (Postgres, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, Dynamo, Snowflake)
    • An ability to balance a sense of urgency with shipping high quality and pragmatic solutions
    • Experience working with a large codebase on a cross functional team.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL
    • 10+ years of working experience in a similar field/environment

    About the department

    Cloudflare’s Engineering Team builds and runs the software that handles trillions of requests per month. Product development covers both new features and functionality and scaling our existing software to meet the challenges of a massively growing customer base.

    The Cloudflare for Teams group within the Engineering organization is taking on the mission of ensuring the people and teams within an organization can access the tools they need to do their job safe from malware and other online threats with the speed and reliability that Cloudflare is known for.

    What you'll do

    In this role you’ll help us build Gateway, an ambitious product that aims to be the most secure and performant method for an organization’s devices to connect to the Internet. As an engineer on the Gateway team, you will focus on our high-performance global edge network data plane services and will also contribute to the control plane API’s that configure the edge services. You will be joining aglobal teamof bright, hard-working, and supportive engineers who really care about their craft.

    Example of systems that the team currently is building:

    • A forward-proxy service running on every machine of Cloudflare’s extensive edge network, responsible for inspecting, filtering, and blocking device requests based on an organization’s configured policy.
    • A DNS resolver running on our edge that leverages a Wirefilter based filtering rules engine.
    • Microservices that allow organizations to configure, manage, and observe their organization's devices and their respective traffic.

    Technologies we use:

    • Gateway’s core edge services are written in Rust and deployed globally to 200+ data centers 
    • Our REST API is written in Go, runs on Kubernetes, and uses Postgres as a data store.
    • Our frontend is written in Typescript and React.
    • For service monitoring we use Prometheus and Grafana.
    • For service logging we use Elasticsearch and Kibana.
    • For product analytics we use Clickhouse and BigQuery.

    A rough list of the skills we would love to see you bring:

    • Programming experience in Rust, C++, or similar low level languages
    • Programming experience in Go and/or Typescript is a plus, but not required
    • A strong grasp of networking protocols in Layers 3-7 of the OSI Model
    • Solid understanding of HTTP protocols - including experience with HTTP/2 and bonus for HTTP/3 experience
    • Basic understanding of software security and encryption
    • Experience in designing and implementing secure and highly-available distributed systems
    • Willingness, curiosity, and enthusiasm to learn new programming languages, technologies, and systems
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Caring and empathy are coveted traits here
