About the Position:This position will lead the financial management function for the organization. From building budgets and forecasts to the ground up, to pulling the organization budget together. The position will work closely with teams to review their regular financial performance and help them make decisions on how to allocate resources. The Finance Manager will also share financial information actively with the senior leadership team. The Finance Manager will also work to promote best practices around financial management and establish effective financial management processes at NCRP, resulting in a culture of active and effective management of financials.  

 

Financial Management (45%)


  • Track and build budgets and actuals for each of NCRP’s Projects and Departments.
  • Build rolled up budgets and forecast for the organization as a whole, working closely with COO and rest of senior leadership team.
  • Develop financial reports for funders and submit on a timely basis.
  • Administer, Maintain and regularly update our financial planning and reporting software
  • Prepare materials and financial information for finance committee of board of directors.
  • Prepare financial dashboards of key financial indicators to share with staff and senior leadership
  • Ensure that timesheets and expense reports are completed and submitted on time by staff to ensure that the accountant can close the books on a monthly basis.
  • Identify process gaps and operational issues by working closely with teams to find and implement solutions.

 

 

Training and Collaboration (45%)

  • Develop and deliver training on financial management for all staff.
  • Onboard new staff on how financial management is practiced at NCRP
  • Work closely with project leads and directors to help manage their budgets and inform decisions
  • Regularly report up to Senior Leadership team on financial status of the organization as a whole, and inform them of any major discrepancies
  • Work in synch with accountant to ensure that accounting and financial planning system is synched up
  • Work closely with development team to ensure smooth pipeline management, new proposals, and new grant booking and management process.


Support general operations department initiatives and goals (10%)

  • Serve as a liaison to relevant vendors as needed.
  • Other administrative and departmental duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice and alignment with NCRP’s values and goals.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience in financial management
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ professional experience in financial management, ideally in a nonprofit or political setting.
  • High comfort level working with databases (familiarity Salesforce a plus) and experience with financial management tools.
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Some experience and familiarity with accounting systems and online tools
  • Detail-oriented and organized, skilled at time management and juggling multiple priorities.

Compensation
The position offers an annual base salary of $65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience. NCRP also offers an exceptionally generous benefits package.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Partner with Operations (Fulfillment,Transportation Procurement, and Customer Service) to drive continuous improvement in financial and operational performance.
  • Own and direct the operation planning process annual, and rolling forecasts (monthly and quarterly). Define variance analysis against budgets for the network, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate metrics and forecasts are created and maintained.
  • Work closely with the accounting and finance teams to evaluate monthly results.
  • Highlight accounting improvement opportunities on specific processes and accounts and partnering with operations and accounting teams to implement.
  • Manage, track and report financial performance against financial plans for operational KPIs and quantify financial risks and opportunities to the business.
  • Support expansion projects and new business initiatives, third-party agreements, network location analyses.
  • Review business cases for capital expenditure, ensure execution of capex plan and fixed asset management.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting, dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling at the request of management and business partners to aid in decision-making.
  • Prepare and present business forecasts and results for executive leadership.
  • This is a people manager role and will include responsibility for growing and scaling the team to support increasing complexity and depth of analysis.

We're Looking For Someone With:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Operations.
  • At least 7 years experience in a similar role
  • At least 2 years with proven track record of developing talent
  • You have experience with Netsuite ERP; or a similar planning tool
  • You have strong Microsoft and Google Suite skills
  • You have familiarity with warehouse controlling - forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with an Executive team
  • Highly analytical, strong attention to detail and an ability to set and meet tight deadlines
  • Bright, kind, and motivated by challenge

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing the process of developing Truepill’s annual and long range operating plans, and rolling forecast including all components of the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows 
  • Managing the process of developing the monthly variance analysis, comparing actual results to budgets/forecasts and prior year results for both internal and external reporting 
  • Preparing and distributing content for the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis, which provide the state of the business with financial results, variance analysis, operations metrics, and talking points
  • Working cross functionally to solve complex problems in Planning & Reporting; applying existing and new solutions in creative ways for themselves and others to drive automation (internal accounting, business leaders, executives, officers, and the Board of Directors)
  • Recognizing and advising others (internal accounting, business leaders, executives, officers, and the Board of Directors) of exposure to risk
  • Analyzing costs for proper accounting treatment and completeness, including reviewing contracts and transactions for technical accounting implications and determining necessary accruals
  • Leading a team that prepares monthly review materials for executive management – responsible for ensuring accuracy, quality and timeliness of content
  • Coordinating and advising team on reporting standards and formats, formulating templates for use.
  • Maintaining files and reports to assure the accuracy and uniformity of the information provided
  • Prepares and reviews documents used for the preparation of externally-reported financial results
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

We're Looking For Someone With:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field Accounting, Finance,Business Administration; CPA/MBA Preferred
  • At least 5-7 years experience in a similar role
  • At least 2 years with proven track record of developing talent
  • You have experience with Netsuite ERP; or a similar planning tool
  • You have strong Microsoft and Google Suite skills
  • You have advanced knowledge of applicable procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to accounting, finance and financial statement consolidation and preparation; knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • You are skilled in developing financial models and consolidated financial statements
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with an Executive team
  • You're highly self-motivated, have a stellar work ethic and you're looking for the right company to support your growth
