Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Overall 10+ years of experience in Data/Analytics Domain 

  • Experience in Product management including managing delivery of BI products from start to finish

  • Must have recent experience in Finance or Accounting systems or analytics teams 

  • Must have experience in building external or internal reporting metrics for CFO organizations.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders and ability to present to executives

  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to build simple, elegant and impactful Executive dashboards/products

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar BI platforms

  • Excellent analytical and modeling skills, in excel and SQL

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in quantitative field

  • Local to SF Bay area.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

•       Responsible for setting the direction, establishing strategies, goals and objectives for organization.

•       Establish the optimal organizational design, processes and procedures to achieve objectives.

•       Manage and develop highly engaged team.

•       Take an active role as a business leader within the team and support the overall objectives of the business.

•       Responsible for meeting and exceeding Service Level Agreements and customer expectations.

•       Ensure implementation of global policies and processes in FSSC

•       Identify, develop, and implement best practice procedures for the R2R, P2P and O2C Streams, constantly looking to external companies to benchmark performance and bring back new ideas for superior processes.

•       Ensure FSSC adopt best practices and continuous improvement programs

•       Manage all staff, including hiring, training, distribution of workload, coaching and organization structure to ensure development of associates.

•       Provide excellent service to internal and external customers, addressing and resolving Customers’ issues and concerns.  Work closely with all business partners to ensure compliance with processes that will facilitate timely processing of operations.

•       Educate the business on standard processes and the internal control policies.

•       Audit the FSSC work for accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

•       Monitor overall ERP system and interfaces, using relevant reporting, for technical issues and work closely with technical support to resolve.

•       Submit period reporting to units to include SLA KPIs

•       Work with auditors and risk managers to ensure effective compliance with governance process. Monitor progress, risks, issues, barriers and develop mitigation strategies (RCM, TOD/TOE)

•       Ensure that Business Continuation Process is up to date, in place and can be activated if required

 

Qualifications

•       Bachelor or University degree in Finance/Accounting; accounting knowledge - master level or CPA.

•       Finance Accounting proven experience either in FSSC environment or in Country regional Finance role. 

•       Minimum 5 years of experience in a management role, including staff management.

•       Experience in managing a team of minimum 30 staff members

•       Experience with change management as well as working in a multicultural and international environment.

•       Understanding of relevant regional accounting practices and the regulatory environment

•       Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management

•       Genuine interest in business process standardization

•       Customer orientation and intercultural competency

•       Drive for results and demonstrate a decisive coaching leadership style

Your Career

Job Description

The Finance Team support operational directors, service managers and other staff with a view to promoting the effective financial management and administration of individual contracts and the directorates as a whole.  This is achieved through developing excellent working relationships and understanding the requirements of the business.

Main Duties & Accountabilities

·         Assume financial management responsibility, in support of the Head of Commercial Finance and CFO MAT & Education, for Education hub, and assist in other operational areas as necessary.

·         Manage accounting procedures, ensuring timely processing of information and production of management accounts and commentaries on the financial situation in those operational areas and services to corporate timetables.

·         Help to prepare annual budgets, latest forecasts, 3 years forecast and commentaries for those operational areas and services to corporate timetables.

·         Advise operational directors and service/budget managers on the financial management of their activities and provide coaching as appropriate.

·         Prepare budgets for services and/or activities, Monitoring and reviewing those budgets thereafter to ensure funds are being maximised, are applied appropriately and costs are managed effectively.

·         Assist with the development of finance systems.

·         Participate in reviews and analysis of financial operations as required.

·         Prepare regular management reports and statements for submission to funders, sponsors and senior management.

·         Assist in the development of proposals in support of directorate business development opportunities.

Qualifications

Working towards a recognised professional accounting qualification, e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA, with relevant Charity and Education sector knowledge.

A person with strong commercial awareness and excellent communication skills, able to support both finance and non-finance staff effectively.

Emergent helps safeguard the world’s tropical forests by building a global market for forest carbon credits. Countries generate these credits by reducing deforestation and tropical deforestation (called “REDD+”). For forest countries, Emergent provides a guaranteed source of demand by facilitating access to a range of high-volume buyers, backed by a purchase guarantee from donors, giving countries the certainty needed to make investments in forest protection and chart a new course For buyers, Emergent provides access to the highest-quality REDD+ credits, enabling them to meet their climate neutrality goals. Emergent has recently assembled the largest ever public/private partnership for tropical forest protection:  the $1bn LEAF Coalition, launched at the COP26 World Leaders’ Summit.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Finance and Operations Officer (CFOO), the Senior Manager, Finance & Operations will lead on finance and accounting for this dynamic startup.  They will be expected to exercise a high degree of autonomy and take on significant responsibility. An ideal candidate will have a recognized accounting qualification and broad experience in non-profit finance/accounting.  Experience in human resources (HR) and non-profit operations management would be a significant advantage.  Although the primary focus of the role is accounting and finance, willingness to flex into other areas, if necessary, with specialist external support, will be essential.  Under the guidance and oversight of the CFOO, we expect that the role holder will need to build a small team to support them as Emergent grows.

Emergent is a US-registered 501(c)(4) non-profit, so the primary responsibilities of this role will relate to the financial management of that entity, including those involving third parties.  About half of the Emergent team is based in Spain, including the Executive Director.  They are employed through a separate legal entity, and this role will include responsibility for the financial management of that entity, working with a local law firm via an outsourced service contract.

Primary: Accounting

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring costs are appropriately documented and approved, records kept and payments made efficiently.
  • Manage accounting schedules, and prepare and enter month end closing entries, including allocation of costs and recognition of revenue.
  • Support the annual audit and preparation of Emergent tax forms and filings.
  • Prepare and upload payroll, tax, and benefits payments and serve as the primary point of contact for offices in the US and Spain

Primary:  Internal financial management

  • Track Emergent’s operating budget, including preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Work with the executive team and board to communicate organisational financial performance, risks and recommendations.
  • Establish and lead planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for Emergent.

Primary:  Compliance. 

Emergent is principally funded by a grant from the Norwegian government and receives other funding from the U.S. Department of State and other private donors.  The holder of this role will be asked to take the day-to-day lead in building and leading that capacity in-house, in terms of identifying compliance requirements and establishing appropriate processes and policies to meet them.

Secondary:  Operations and HR

  • Supporting the CFOO in a range of functions for Emergent, working with specialist providers where necessary.  This includes procurement, office management, IT, corporate policies, organisational performance management, managing compensation and benefits, learning & development, and others.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A recognised US accounting qualification with ongoing experience of US GAAP.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in non-profit operations management, including finance and accounting, human resources, grant/contract management and business operations.
  • Detail-oriented, and able to deliver consistently high levels of efficiency and follow-through.
  • Ability to systematise and to process large volumes of information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, especially in communicating complex financial information to management teams and boards.
  • Ability to thrive within an entrepreneurial, small team start-up environment. 
  • Decisiveness and good judgement.
  • Proven ability to build and lead a team.
  • Proven aptitude to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

The FP&A team manages financial processes of the business, including the annual financial plan, regular forecast and outlook processes, determining capital allocation across our business, and providing analytical support to Cash App Senior Management. You will be an important contributor to the strategic decision-making processes across the business and help decide and scale the reporting for Cash App. Your role will be with the Cash App FP&A team, and you will report directly to the Cash FP&A lead. You will have one direct report within your team.

Job Description

You Will:

  • Be responsible for Adjusted Revenue / Gross Profit trends based on a tops-down approach and drive narrative on Cash App overall performance to Senior Leadership in the organization
  • Develop a tops-down financial model to help articulate levers on Adjusted Revenue growth, and work with key stakeholders to validate output of the model with the bottoms-up forecast
  • Interacting with Cash Finance & Strategy ("F&S") leads on a regular basis to understand product drivers, gross profit margins, and business trends as needed
  • Work with Sr. Management on ad-hoc requests to inform our strategy and improve efficiency to help drive long-term trajectory of the business
  • Drive key financial processes including annual planning, quarterly outlooks and the three-years plan
  • Maintain and develop a model to forecast Monthly Actives Users, and help develop frameworks to increase forecast accuracy
  • Interact across the board as a Cash FP&A partner with various teams : Corporate FP&A, Compliance, Business team.
  • Lead and mentor a Senior Financial analyst

Qualifications

You Have:

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in fintech or traditional banking
  • Excellent proficiency in excel (can write advanced macros)
  • Good proficiency with Analytics tools and data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau)
  • Excellent verbal and written - identify and defend data-driven recommendations and a sense of business management
  • Experience developing new ideas and solutions
  • Financial experience including familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, or data interpretation and analysis
  • Solid experience in root cause analysis

    Job Description

    We are looking for a Finance & Strategy Manager to be the essential financial partner for the Cash App Crypto product. You will help expand our existing Bitcoin product line into a portfolio of crypto-based services. You will also work with our Equities team and manage a senior analyst who will forecast and analyze historical financial performance for both the Bitcoin and Equity products.

    You Will:

    • Partner with Product, Operations, Tax and Accounting teams to promote Crypto's domestic and international expansion
    • Drive analysis to make the case for new monetizable opportunities within crypto ecosystem
    • Support strategic decisions, including ad-hoc projects on customer behavior analysis and unit economics, LTV / ROI of marketing efforts, and other data-driven analysis
    • Partner with Ops and Treasury teams to manage BTC custody and insurance captive costs and requirements
    • Oversee one senior analyst focused on Cash's equities investing product
    • Work with Hardware wallet and TBD F&S teams

    Qualifications

    You Have:

    • 5+ years of relevant industry experience
    • 2+ years of crypto knowledge or experience
    • Excellent proficiency with SQL and in financial modeling and Excel ( be prepared for a case study)
    • Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau)

    • Partner with marketing, finance, and accounting to implement financial processes that provide marketing insights
    • Contribute to the management of important financial processes including annual planning, quarterly outlooks, and the three-years plan

    Qualifications

    Finance Operations Manager

    As the Finance Operations Manager, you are responsible for maintaining and improving the operations of the Finance department and will be responsible for the processes and systems used by the department.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner with cross-functional teams in Sales, CS, Finance, and Operations to develop implementation plans for new standards
    • Collaborate with Sales and Deal Desk to support DealHub processes

      The Role

      Finance Management

      • To be responsible for all aspects of all finance functions, including management information and accounts, and to prepare proper accounting records and financial statements for the annual audit.
      • Business modelling based on cash flow projections to help the Senior Leadership team (SLT) make informed decisions
      • Own the cashflow ensure proper and accurate cash projections are regularly prepared on an ongoing basis, to ensure continued viability and predicting any risks to cashflow.
      • Create measures and profitability calculators to help quoting process with a view to build cash reserves
      • To be responsible for all budgeting and re-forecasts, to continually monitor and report proper and accurate monthly management information to the SLT and Board
      • Work with external bookkeeper and sales team to ensure all purchase orders and billed appropriately
      • Creating working relationships with client procurement departments and credit controlling of outstanding invoices
      • To drive and coordinate the financial planning processes, including creation and monitoring of departmental budgets into Amber Labs’ annual operating and capital plans.
      • To monitor, report and provide insightful commentary on the monthly performance against budget of all departments; working collaboratively with the executive to address areas which are under-performing.
      • · To work with external auditors to deliver timely and accurate year end accounts; with appropriate commentary and communicate results with SLT and Board
      • Ensure compliance with all company tax and VAT payments are calculated and paid and any appropriate tax credits are applied for
      • Responsible for identifying efficiencies within Amber Labs and continuous improvement of Finance
      • Supporting the business on making decisions on business cases
      • Supporting the Consulting team in financially modelling our external projects

      Board Meetings

      Preparation and presentation of Finance pack for quarterly Board meetings and AGM including:

        • Management Accounts
        • P&L
        • Budget
        • Cashflow
        • Aged debtors and Creditors
        • Credit controlling
        • Variance reporting

        Essential Skills

        • Qualified Accountant with management accounting and FP&A experience
        • Experience of working with Xero, and strong excel skills, particularly in extraction of information from Xero for the purpose of reporting management information on linked Excel files.
        • Experience of producing produce reports for senior management and Board level review and analysis and explanation of variances, and to attend Board meetings and confidently report and interpret information to relevant Board members.
        • Experience of organisational budget preparation, audit file preparation, provision of information to HMRC, and experience of liaising with auditors.
        • Strong strategic ability and analytical mind for finance as well as business.
        • Ability to establish and apply performance measurement and tracking systems
        • The ability to priorities own workload to meet deadlines whilst under pressure, with multiple demands and in a challenging and ever-changing environment.
        • Able to interact confidently and build relationships with a wide range of outside contacts at all levels.
        • Excellent and confident English communication and presentation skills, verbal and written
        • Flexibility with a pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
        • Solid, appropriate IT skills, including the use of Word, Excel (advanced)
