  • We’re looking for Backend and Fullstack Engineers who will make a positive impact for our customers by building innovative solutions, (atomic) services, and ergonomic monetizable APIs.

A Bit About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
  • 1 to 2 years of academic experience paired with 1 to 2 years of internship or professional experience in computer science fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, software design patterns, and principles. Familiarity with basic cloud infrastructure (such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, including but not limited to: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Golang, Rust, Ruby, C#, C/C++, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with developer productivity tools such as VS Code, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, Git, GitHub, or Slack.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers, management, and product owners.
  • Willingness to learn and grow: Demonstrated eagerness to learn new technologies, solve problems, and apply design patterns to both application and cloud solutions, with a focus on clean coding techniques and testability.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Internships or previous project experience working with engineering teams in an Agile environment.
  • Knowledge and/or practical experience working with frameworks including, but not limited to: Angular, React, .Net, Spring Boot, Rails.
  • Knowledge, practical experience, and/or certifications working with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the U.S. Healthcare system and the pharmaceutical supply chain.

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $104,000 - $130,000

Responsibilities

The Role: Senior Associate, Resilience Management

As a Senior Associate in Resilience Management you will be responsible for the implementation of our policies and procedures, and coordination of risk assessments and audits within the Technology department as a whole. Working as part of our broader Production Engineering Team, this position will be a key personnel in coordinating around BCM, Governance within Incident and Problem management, Risk and Auditory functions for the Gemini technology group which are in adherence to local, federal, and international regulations. An ideal candidate will have strong focuses in risk management, cross team collaboration, and providing overall technology governance and improvements to processes which lead to the stabilization of the overall ecosystem.  

This is a hands-on position, working across the technology department, and cross-functionally across Gemini in partnership with Product, Security, Risk, Audit, and Customer Support. You will be actively involved in the expansion of our BCM program, incident triage (when needed) / retrospective reviews, risk management, auditing process, and refining team processes. You will coordinate with teams from across the organization in multiple aspects including getting projects safely delivered quickly, becoming a beacon of clairvoyance for audits, and rallying team members when needed end-to-end. You possess a strong sense of ownership and a desire to improve on every iteration.   • Develop, track, review, and report on the implementation of technology processes (eg., Incident, Problem, BCM and Risk Management)

Position Overview 

Detecting cyberattacks in real-time requires a high-performance suite of software that can sift through terabytes of data. You will be joining a team that has been tasked with developing software to aide in the detection of network-based attacks.

Responsibilities  

  • Interpret product requirements into software designs, implementations, and tests that take performance, maintainability, and operational efficiency into consideration
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve systems to deliver outstanding reliability to customers
  • Work with other groups including Product Management, UX, Security Research and Data Science to help customers simplify security
  • Provide technical leadership as you grow into the role   

Requirements:

  • 3+ years developing software for Debian-based Linux
  • Strong Python experience
  • Knowledge of software design principles and leading software development practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems

About the Role:  

The Space Ops team is in charge of maintaining the largest constellation of Earth observation satellites made up of SuperDoves, SkySats, Pelicans, and Tanagers; we ensure they are safe, healthy, and productive. We are a small team of highly-skilled engineers from offices in SF and Berlin and we are looking for a highly motivated and driven working student to join our team. As part of the Space Operations team, you will support day-to-day operations, which includes, making assessments based on data analysis, triaging and resolving anomalies, run on-orbit experiments, and testing and assisting in the rollout of software on the ground and in space. The work of the Space Operations team is essential to Planet’s success.

This role is specifically for supporting Planet’s medium-resolution Superdove mission. With ~100 satellites in orbit, the core of our operations is automation and monitoring; you will be writing code to automate mission operations and aggregate data into metrics. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and collaborate, is results driven and is able to work in a fast-paced environment, while working independently and as part of a team. You will be working in a collaborative environment, frequently communicating with hardware and software experts to understand anomalies, develop procedures and further develop operations processes. 

This is a part-time role (20 hours per week) for 1 year contract. The role can be remote or in-person/hybrid.

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Develop and enhance existing tools to further automate satellite operations
  • Identify, triage, root cause and resolve satellite anomalies in space
  • Support daily check-ins on the Superdove fleet to maintain nominal operations
  • Improve existing processes and procedures for satellite operations
  • Develop and maintain scripts to aggregate satellite data and generate metrics
  • Use existing and new metrics for data analysis to make assessments about the performance and health of the satellites
  • Lead standalone projects to evolve the way we operate our satellites

What You Bring:

  • Pursuing a B.S or Graduate Degree in an Engineering, Software, or Science related field from an accredited college or technical school
  • Software development experience in Python or equivalent
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data-driven development
  • Experience with data visualization 
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams
  • Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD concepts
  • Experience working with large amounts of data and APIs
  • Familiar with automation and software development tools ( e.g., Jenkins, Bash, and Git)

Compensation:

The US hourly rate for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $35 per hour.  Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives (bonus and equity). Що ти будеш робити?

  • Розробляти та підтримувати ML сервіси на Python;
  • Працювати з великими датасетами, виконувати їх підготовку та трансформацію для подальшого моделювання;
  • Опрацьовувати дані та розробляти ETL процеси для інтеграції та управління даними;
  • Співпрацювати з ML інженером та контент командою для створення та покращення наших ML моделей;
  • Підтримувати високу якість коду, проводити тестування та виправляти наявні помилки.

Що ми очікуємо від тебе?

  • 2+ роки досвіду розробки на Python (FastAPI);
  • Бажання розвиватися і вивчати нове в ML напрямку (наявність проходження курсів та сертифікацій);
  • Практичний досвід роботи з NoSQL базами даних (MongoDB) і Redis для забезпечення високої продуктивності зберігання та кешування даних;
  • Досвід роботи з контейнеризацією, зокрема з Docker;
