About the role:

The Samsara AI team builds end-to-end ML applications to power different product pillars at Samsara. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing ML solutions to increase the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations. You will work closely with various engineering teams across ML, full-stack, firmware as well as cross functional partners to deliver core infrastructure, services, and optimizations.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area (125 mi. radius from 1 De Haro St, San Francisco) and NYC Metro Area (50 mi. radius from 131 W 55th St, New York).

In this role, you will: 

• Build and improve the accuracy of ML models, including retraining and optimizing open-source models to solve Samsara-specific problems
• Work with petabyte-scale data from Samsara camera and sensor devices to develop new models
• Optimize models for inference on the backend and/or on edge devices
• Partner with hardware and full-stack teams to deploy model for optimal performance and cost

What you will do

Our team is responsible for deploying to production while delivering differentiated value to our customers. We are seeking a seasoned leader and data practitioner with strong technical depth to drive engineering platforms, initiatives and partnerships across the company. In this role reporting to the SVP, Head of Data, you will be responsible for leading an organizational effort to build and scale state-of-the-art data platforms to solve various data-driven business use cases and needs. These data platforms will be powering data products and data initiatives across the company, including Video, Billing, Financials, Ad Monetization, Audience Insights, Product Analytics, Marketing, Customer Success and Personalization.

You Will

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. QA engineer responsibilities include understanding system requirements, designing and implementing tests and in some cases debugging and defining corrective actions. We announced Cloudflare Workers in 2017  — since then it’s played a key role in Cloudflare’s strategy for entering the developer platform market. Until the launch of Workers, as Cloudflare was ramping up its capabilities in the performance and security spaces, it became clear that developers needed more ways to control the edge than rules engines could support. Workers has allowed Cloudflare to add programmability to the edge such that developers could have access to writing logic on the edge in their preferred way — through code. Over the past few years, Workers has grown from a simple functions-as-a-service option into a fully blown full-stack platform. With any application, however, in addition to serverless compute, you need to be able to manage state. In 2022, Cloudflare released D1 — built on Durable Objects, D1 is Cloudflare’s first serverless database.  In this role, you’ll be helping define and building the future of D1 to enable developers to build full stack applications.
