About the Team

The Workers team makes it possible for Cloudflare customers to run JavaScript and WebAssembly on Cloudflare's edge network. We build and maintain the developer platform that executes trillions of requests per month on behalf of developers and grants them nearly limitless control over how their requests are handled and responded to. The Workers team is split into several groups, this group is focused on how we bring state to the edge.

What you'll do

In this role, you'll help design and build Workers KV, a global low-latency key-value data store for the Supercloud. You'll be part of a top-notch engineering team keeping KV running smoothly at global scale while implementing new features, ensuring reliability, and improving performance.

You will own your code from inception to release, delivering solutions at all layers of the software stack to empower Cloudflare customers. On any given day, you might write a design document that outlines how you plan to solve a specific problem, modify how KV processes and stores data, or fix a bug in how our user experience renders. You can expect to interact with a variety of languages and technologies including, but not limited to Typescript, Go, Rust, and C++.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • 4+ years of experience with (and love for) distributed systems and data
  • Willing and eager to share knowledge, and mentorGreat oral and written communications skills, especially concisely documenting complex concepts
  • Solid understanding of Go and JavaScript, including asynchronous programming in both

As a part of the team, you will be exposed to all aspects of the technology and infrastructure stack that impact system performance. Key Responsibilities: 
  • Understands and applies Elastic Path security policies, processes, and controls as required, in day-to-day tasks
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of the security capabilities of Elastic Path, its systems, technology, software products and SaaS offerings
  • Ensure overall performance, reliability, and scalability as demand for our product and customer size grows
  • Design and implement performance test plans and test cases for new and existing functionality in a variety of load testing tools, both open-source and commercially available
  • Analyze test results and make tactical and strategic recommendations to improve performance and scalability via architecture, infrastructure, and software designs
  • Learn, maintain, and extend our existing automation framework which drives our performance testing efforts

  • Help Ops and Dev teams investigate Sev 1 / Production down / issues

    • Scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash)
    • Load testing tools (JMeter, etc)
    • Docker and container management tools (Kubernetes)
    • Microservices architectures
    • Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)

Bonus points for: 
  • Experience with performance testing and analysis of eCommerce sites
  • Web front-end performance
  • Experience with the following technologies:

  • Experience with hands-on management of cloud-native services using an IaaS-platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience and expertise with Kubernetes.
  • Experience developing web applications. Knowledge of C# .NET desirable but not required.
  • Programming experience, preferably including the use of programming for infrastructure automation/DevOps.
  • Solid understanding of web application technologies and protocols (i.e., REST, HTTP, TLS, DNS, networking) and web application architecture.
  • Expertise in computing and networking hardware fundamentals. Solid knowledge of operating systems, including Linux, and containers.

          About the Role - Essential Functions                                   
          • Work with Solution Providers and customers to provide technical support by identifying, troubleshooting, resolving, and documenting Laserfiche technical issues
          • Use third party or Laserfiche tools to check Laserfiche Cloud system diagnostics, investigate system performance issues, monitor availability, and document issues as appropriate
          • Facilitate timely and relevant communication of escalated incidents to impacted stakeholders
          • Engage in post-issue analysis to examine incident response performance, identify areas for service improvement, and monitor progress of implementing recommendations
          • Work with software engineering teams to troubleshoot more complex issues
          • Collaborate with software engineering teams to refine in-application diagnostics (e.g., error logging and reporting) and consolidate data across cloud-based services

          About You - Essential Qualifications
          • 4-year degree (BA, BS) required or equivalent industry experience
          • Must be able to work the second shift schedule (3:00 PM to 12:00 AM US Pacific Time)
          • Preferably experienced and certified at working with AWS
          • Experienced in systems troubleshooting, including database systems, TCP/IP-based networking, web applications, and Windows and Linux system administration
          • Preferably skilled at scripting/programming in one or more of the following: PowerShell, Bash, Python, C#, JavaScript, and Ruby.
