We need a talented & specialized Network Engineer to join our Escalation and Development Team. You will be asked to own and deploy technical solutions for our Managed networked devices and hosted services. Daily, you will need to run diagnostic applications, isolate problems and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence, in addition to involvement with proactive upgrades and service offerings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsively receive escalations from our Support Centers and Customers; this is a high-level needs customer facing role.
  • Manage and maintain our internal network services, hosted platforms, and managed devices.
  • Respond and resolve network outages or customer configuration requests.
  • Consultatively design, configure, deploy, and document networking solutions to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Complete timely proactive maintenance of managed devices.
  • Support & perform compliance audits, including remediation tasks as requested.
  • Ability to script and implement change through Command Line in addition to GUI.
  • Manage vendor partnerships.
  • Fortinet experience a must.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate through direct communication, ticket notes and presentations.
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Interaction and management of 3rd party vendors for escalations on hardware and software.
  • Key involvement with the discovery, design, configuration and installation network and system solutions.
  • Ability to manage team configurations in large deployments of network devices and configurations.
  • Assists HonorBuilt with our service delivery, project completions, and other duties as assigned.
  • Service awareness of HonorBuilt’s key IT services for which support is being provided.

Candidate Requirements include:

  • Exemplary ownership of problems and issues.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in related position
  • Expert knowledge of BGP, IGRP, OSPF, RIP, SDWAN & WRP.
  • Experience or certification in Fortinet solutions is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional ability to research and troubleshoot technology problems, specifically focused on networking.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Active participation in our emergency 24/7 response on-call system.
  • A successful background check, drug screening and technical interview. We are a drug-free workplace, and this includes marijuana/THC. There are no exceptions to this.

What You'll Do:

Provides network connectivity, VoIP services and remote access to all Arizona College of Nursing ("College") systems and services in a secured manner to all College colleagues and students, delivers best practices network solutions to the Infrastructure team, Help Desk, Applications team and other College groups to ensure the success of projects for the end user community. Includes project management, problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and post-mortem. Regularly interacts with Infrastructure team, Help Desk, Applications team, and business analysts to restore service and/or identify and correct the core problem. Primary change agents and responsible parties for network devices and change management, including active involvement in Executive management. Oversight and assistance in application solution design and delivery.

  • Administrate College's systems at an advanced level.
  • Support intermediate needs related to integration for network and IP telephony systems.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of network and telephony systems.
  • Write and document advanced technical processes.
  • Execute on requests related to all College's enterprise network and telephony systems.
  • Implement network and telephony systems for the College.
  • Create new integrations for the college's network and telephony systems.
  • Design network and telephony systems based on input from stakeholders.
  • Responsible for producing high quality work.
  • Respond according to standards in and outside of normal business hours.
  • Participate in On-Call rotation.
  • Document and manage ticket queue in Service Desk, including reassigning tickets to self and assisting other team members with assigned workload.
  • Follow all documentation, policies and procedures .
  • Create, update, and distribute documents for any systems worked on.
  • Identify process and procedure improvements in the Network Engineering group.
  • Assist in identifying any strategic risk based on tactical priorities and work.

Job Description:The Senior Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and operational support for Client's multi-cloud, multi-region hybrid cloud infrastructures which includes on premise datacenters which serves as on ramps to cloud service providers like Azure, AWS and GCP. The primary responsibility of the Senior Network Cloud Engineer will be to provide the highest quality network infrastructure environment support which includes management and troubleshooting of network solutions including routers, firewalls, switches, appliances, and cloud native network and security solutions.

The position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate network solutions (routers, firewalls, switches, cloud networking) in the cloud and in on premise datacenters with a focus on reliability, throughput, scalability, and security which will help us scale with the needs of the business
  • Monitor and tune network infrastructure to identify and eliminate issues and potential bottlenecks
  • Provide a level of escalation in response to incidents/requests regarding network performance and configuration, including off hour’s escalations
  • Maintain network documentation, run-books, diagrams, and network assets in the configuration management database
  • Develop and continually improve guidelines and procedures related to Network management including process and efficiency improvements
  • Provisioning and configuration of private network circuits for connectivity from Datacenter, WAN, and Campus network to our cloud network.
  • Integration with related infrastructure engineering efforts.
  • Disaster recovery/business continuity integration.
  • Write & maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Enterprise, and Ansible

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and improving wired, and cloud networks Areas of focus are preferred with Cisco, Palo Alto.
  • Strong BGP knowledge and experience is a must
  • 2 years of recent and progressive technical experience in cloud network technologies
  • Hands on experience with cloud service providers Microsoft Azure, GCP and AWS
  • Intermediate knowledge of at least one Infrastructure-as-a-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Ability to perform, analyze and deduce information from network packet captures using on premise and cloud solutions
  • Experience working with Data Center Colocation facilities and Cloud Partner network access provided by vendors such as Equinix and Mega-Port.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code
  • Programming/scripting language experience such as Python, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of virtual network appliance offerings and how to apply them to public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native security and network solutions and tools in Azure, AWS and/or Google
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, StealthWatch, BigPanda is a plus
  • Strong scripting experience: Terraform, Ansible, Python, Perl, bash
  • Experience with Container technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, ISTIO and similar are bonuses
