Job Description:The Senior Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering and operational support for Client's multi-cloud, multi-region hybrid cloud infrastructures which includes on premise datacenters which serves as on ramps to cloud service providers like Azure, AWS and GCP. The primary responsibility of the Senior Network Cloud Engineer will be to provide the highest quality network infrastructure environment support which includes management and troubleshooting of network solutions including routers, firewalls, switches, appliances, and cloud native network and security solutions.

The position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Maintain and operate network solutions (routers, firewalls, switches, cloud networking) in the cloud and in on premise datacenters with a focus on reliability, throughput, scalability, and security which will help us scale with the needs of the business
  • Monitor and tune network infrastructure to identify and eliminate issues and potential bottlenecks
  • Provide a level of escalation in response to incidents/requests regarding network performance and configuration, including off hour’s escalations
  • Maintain network documentation, run-books, diagrams, and network assets in the configuration management database
  • Develop and continually improve guidelines and procedures related to Network management including process and efficiency improvements
  • Provisioning and configuration of private network circuits for connectivity from Datacenter, WAN, and Campus network to our cloud network.
  • Integration with related infrastructure engineering efforts.
  • Disaster recovery/business continuity integration.
  • Write & maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform Enterprise, and Ansible

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and improving wired, and cloud networks Areas of focus are preferred with Cisco, Palo Alto.
  • Strong BGP knowledge and experience is a must
  • 2 years of recent and progressive technical experience in cloud network technologies
  • Hands on experience with cloud service providers Microsoft Azure, GCP and AWS
  • Intermediate knowledge of at least one Infrastructure-as-a-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Ability to perform, analyze and deduce information from network packet captures using on premise and cloud solutions
  • Experience working with Data Center Colocation facilities and Cloud Partner network access provided by vendors such as Equinix and Mega-Port.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile, DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code
  • Programming/scripting language experience such as Python, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Deep understanding of virtual network appliance offerings and how to apply them to public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native security and network solutions and tools in Azure, AWS and/or Google
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, StealthWatch, BigPanda is a plus
  • Strong scripting experience: Terraform, Ansible, Python, Perl, bash
  • Experience with Container technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, ISTIO and similar are bonuses

The Network Engineer will deliver managed services and product solutions for our clients. This position will design and configure network virtual and cloud services connecting clients to their public, private, multi-site cloud and traditional colocation datacenters. The engineer will be working with latest in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), firewalls, content security and threat prevention, remote access, and network automation as they facilitate the deployment  of new and/or migration of the client’s workload to Expedient platforms. 

REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated level of competency with the following technologies:
    • Software-defined networking such as VMware NSX or another major technology provider
    • Virtual private networks
    • Network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and MPLS)
    • Firewalls and security products
    • Enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches
  • The ideal candidate would possess one or multiple technical or vendor certifications
  • Ability to prioritize and be productive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review the solution and requirements from the client and sales team to construct a successful design, implementation, and migration plan
  • Ensure delivery of standard network services during project implementations for clients per contract
  • Provisioning VLANs, VxLANs, and IP routing connectivity inter/intra datacenter and to/from client premise
  • EVPN, BGP, MPLS, dedicated private circuits, and spine-leaf architecture
  • Deploy and configure network appliances
  • Security Firewalls (including content filtering, log management, intrusion detection and prevention)
  • Load Balancers, Remote access, and VPNs
  • NSX Distributed Routers and Edge Gateways
  • Implement and document network disaster recovery services and actively participate in client testing
  • Trusted advisor for clients during configuration of content security, logging and threat management services
  • Follow implementation guidelines, processes, and procedures to ensure standards and quality are met
  • Communicate with project managers, clients, and internal staff at regular intervals to ensure expectations are set and that appropriate attention is being paid to client  projects
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of the implementation is generated, maintained during the project for effective transition to our Operations Support Center

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with management, team members, and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, audit artifacts, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, UPSs, SD-WAN, and other hardware.
  • Experience with a hybrid clouds especially Azure endpoints and management of AWS landing zones.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.

Operational Management

  • Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Monitor, configure, and maintain VPN user access activity and abilities.
  • Monitor, configure, and maintain CASB products such as Zscaler or Forepoint.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, printer/copiers, and other network appliances.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions.
  • Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Will be an audit control owner and will be responsible for producing audit evidence on strict time schedules for compliance and security governance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Bank’s policies and procedures.

Job Summary 

The Network Engineer is responsible for providing network engineering support to NRTC MS Members' core, access and fixed wireless networks using industry networking best practices. The candidate's technical skills and expertise will assist service providers in delivering world-class broadband services to rural communities. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, and experience in operating broadband networks and delivers seamless and positive technical support experience. 

Responsibilities 

  • Serve as an extension of the NRTC Member’s network engineering team 

  • Take ownership in driving and solving Member technical network problems and change requests with urgency and efficiency 

  • Assist in provisioning network components, including third-party networking and telecom equipment, using a mix of manual provisioning (TL1, command line, etc.) and provisioning tools 

  • Provide technical support to field teams as needed 

  • Create detailed Methods of Procedure (MOPs) 

  • Perform pre-planned after-hours maintenance work to help support both our Members and internal networks and services 

  • Update Members on work status via ticketing systems and phone calls 

  • Responsible for ensuring continuity of Member internet service provider networks 

  • Document and mentor Members on engineering processes, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. 

  • Utilize data and insight to explain a situation, make informed decisions and provide recommendations for improvement 

  • Assist with new Member onboarding tasks including assessing the Member’s initial network configuration, enabling configuration management, and training Members on NRTC MS tools and best practices 

  • Assist with process improvement and training other team Members 

  • This role may require travel and face-to-face meetings with NRTC MS Members 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • 2+ years of technical support experience in broadband or telecommunications. 

  • Experience with L3 routing protocols (OSPF/ BGP), TCP/IP, L2 switching, VLANs, QoS/DSCP, VoIP (SIP/MGCP).  

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple Member issues/projects simultaneously, providing timely yet thorough responses. 

  • This role requires an engineer who is relentlessly customer-centric and possesses strong problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills 

Experience in the following areas beneficial: 

  • Adtran Total Access and Calix AXOS  

  • Adtran or Calix management platforms (Adtran AOE, n-Command MSP, or MOSAIC, Calix Cloud and CMS)

        Job Description

        Solidigm IT is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer who will be responsible for design, maintenance and administration of our company’s global data networks. This position requires an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. You will be working closely with internal security teams and users of our network in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.

        To be a successful candidate, you will need to have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. You will also need to be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, servers and controllers. A deep knowledge of networking and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired.

        This position can be remote.

        ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

        • Conduct complex global network architecture design, ensuring all aspects of the entire enterprise hybrid networks are architecturally sound and highly available.
        • Perform complex hybrid network administration, including, but not limited to, software updates, patches and configuration of network equipment.
        • Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of network equipment and perform traffic analysis.

        • Routing experience (BGP, OSPF, etc.) including configuration, redistribution and troubleshooting.
        • Solid understanding of IP addressing, 802.1x Network Access Control, subnetting, and VLANs.
        • Understanding of QoS, routing protocol redistribution, route filtering and ACLs.
        • Packet capture experience and fluency with Wireshark.
        • Familiar with the use of monitoring, management, diagnostic tools including log aggregation and the use of SNMP protocol.
        • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network layout and communication systems.
        • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications or equivalent knowledge.
        • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
