Position Title: Concierge Network Engineer

The Network Engineer reviews and evaluates complex planned and existing network systems and makes recommendations based upon network and organizational policy requirements. This resource will provide highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering and architecture, including the review of and engagement in development of change requests. Also provides and develops technical standards and interface applications; identifies and evaluates new products; provide solutions for network problems. Interfaces with internal/external customers and vendors to determine system needs. Plans and incorporates how new network resources and applications will exist on the network. Provide monthly metrics for network availability and bandwidth usage as well as other metrics as requested. Responsible for network capacity planning. Use network management tools to discover, map and maintain the network. Responsible for network equipment OS and version upgrades. Responsible for conducting research of new technologies and implementation strategies. Monitor and maintain network interfaces to ensure its highest level of performance and makes modifications and enhancements as needed. Responsible for documenting procedures and keeping network diagrams and related material up to date. Handle escalated user problems, questions, and request on network issues. Work with other groups within IS to resolve network related issues as needed. Leads and directs work of other Network Engineers. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.
Must Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with designing, analyzing, configuring, or troubleshooting IP networks
  • Experience with designing, analyzing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network architectures
  • Experience with Wi-Fi hardware configuration/ management, network hardware configuration/ management, and issue resolution
  • Experience with analyzing network traffic and determining root cause for network issues
  • Knowledge of routing protocols and network technologies
  • Knowledge of metrics development and monitoring, process development and analysis, and excellent customer service
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

      We need a Cloud Network Engineer that will be working on implementing and managing the core technology infrastructure and enterprise systems that support IaaS and PaaS systems within the government. You will be responsible for research, design, advising, architecting, and creating tools that automate, monitor, and scale infrastructure. Make systems more elastic, responsive, and automatically balanced. Deploy new solutions including identity management and security solutions. 

      You need to have an active secret clearance. Although this is mostly remote, you also need to be in the DMV/NCR Area 

      Major Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Provide technical expertise on infrastructure engineering with an emphasis on modern, cloud infrastructure, hybrid cloud models, and platform services
      • Architect, deploy and support complex networks to secure communication to/from existing enclaves
      • Ability to present research findings and technical information in a concise manner that can be understood by non-engineers and gives decision-makers the context and key points necessary to make necessary decisions
      • Advise on technical IaaS/PaSS service offerings from various CSP’s to align with specific mission needs for government or client projects
      • Develop and assist with eMASS accreditation packages based off of ACAS scans and STIG compliance to enable technical innovations within the DOD

      Qualifications

      Required:

      • Currently holding Secret Clearance
      • Ability to work in your home office, mostly remote, but must live in DMV/NCR area
      • Experience with AWS and/or Azure design, architecture, and services
      • Strong hands-on network engineering and Firewall configuration and maintenance experience through layers 1-7
      • Identify and authorization (ADFS, Sentinel, Lighthouse, Blueprints, Policies, etc)
      • Sound knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud computing
      • Good communication and interpersonal skills
      • Working Knowledge of key mission‐critical infrastructure such as Exchange, Active Directory, VMWare, Window Server, Linux, Storage (NAS, SAN), Relational Databases, VCS, Networking (Routing, Firewall, Load balancers), Web services (Apache, Tomcat, IIS), Citrix, File transferring (SFTP, FTP)

      Desired:

      • Experience with RMF is a big plus
      • Enterprise routing knowledge is strongly desired
      • CI/CD pipeline development
      • Scripting knowledge a plus (Python, Bash, Perl, PowerShell)
      • Azure or AWS certifications
      • Knowledge of the DoD is strongly preferred

        •                    Provide network design and implementation strategies, migration plans, and technical project support for low to high level complexity projects.

        •                    Prepares Business Cases, financial analysis spreadsheets, deployment plans, and detailed bills of materials in preparation for presentation to Leadership to review for new deployments

        •                    Perform hands on configurations for new deployments

        •                    Prepares Build documents and Operational Support procedures and performs knowledge transfer to the Network Operations to ensure a smooth onboarding of new deployments

        •                    Design, implement and manage the network and security systems within a secure multi-tenant cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP, & etc.) environment.
