Expression is looking for an Oracle Help Desk Analyst to join our team. The position is 100% remote, but must be available for occasional on-site meetings in the Washington DC area. You will be supporting several DoD agencies in Oracle, including Budgets, federal accounting, and sub-ledger activities. The project supports sustainment activities for 24 different agencies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and resolving help desk tickets (Tier 2 and 3 Support).
  • Provides troubleshooting support to a user community employing Oracle EBS applications, OBIEE and Hyperion.
  • Diagnoses problems and provides applicable remedies.
  • May serve as a team leader in operations.
  • If system changes are needed to resolve an issue, then the owner of the ticket will need to complete that process and do all required tasks from initial analysis through production validation.

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years of Oracle P2P for federal environment experience.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement processes in Oracle.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Sensitivity Level: IT-2 – Sensitive

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain E2E data pipelines, backend ingestion and participate in the build of Samsara’s Data Platform to enable advanced automation and analytics.
  • Work with data from a variety of sources including but not limited to: CRM data, Product data, Marketing data, Order flow data, Support ticket volume data.
  • Manage critical data pipelines to enable our growth initiatives and advanced analytics.
  • Facilitate data integration and transformation requirements for moving data between applications; ensuring interoperability of applications with data layers and data lake.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, information technology, or equivalent engineering program.
  • 5+ years of work experience as a data engineer, including 3+ years of experience in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining E2E data pipelines.. 
  • Experience with modern cloud-based data-lake and data-warehousing technology stacks, and familiarity with typical data-engineering tools, ETL/ELT, and data-warehousing processes and best practices.
  • Experience with the following:
    • Languages: Python, SQL.
    • Exposure to ETL tools such as Fivetran, DBT or equivalent.
    • API: Exposure to python based API frameworks for data pipelines. 
    • RDBMS: MySQL, AWS RDS/Aurora MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL-Server or equivalent.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy:Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

  • Advanced ability to derive insights. This role is not focused solely on reporting. This role needs to help give direction on what to do, so candidates should be able to extrapolate the opportunities/insights from the data instead of just play back the data.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and effectively run several projects in parallel in complex organizations utilizing an Agile methodology.
  • Understanding of modern web experiences and the data infrastructure used to support delivering great customer experiences (e.g. Oracle Analytics, Restful APIs, Microsoft Azure, Akamai, CMS platforms)
  • Experience with analyzing A.I. use cases in areas such as customer segmentation, live agent support, and knowledge management.
  • Be excited to also roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty in the work (we are a very hands-on company at all levels).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Collaborate with development and testing teams to understand software requirements and performance objectives.
  • Design and develop performance test plans, scripts, scenarios, and test data to assess software performance under various conditions.
  • Analyze performance test results to identify bottlenecks, performance issues, and potential areas for optimization.
  • Work closely with developers and architects to provide recommendations for performance improvements based on test results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of performance testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to performance engineering and quality assurance.
  • Develop strong performance test automation and enhance existing test framework; build new test framework as needed
  • Validate code changes against existing test suite; build new automated unit tests to validate features and defects
  • Debug and conduct root cause analysis as well as proactively analyze regressions; diagnose defects and provide detailed input to Development
  • Assess and provide valuable feedback on products/features
  • Document core server features performance behavior.
  • Be an active participant in product requirements, functional specification and design specification reviews
  • Be a customer advocate – identify feature enhancements and usability improvements that enhance the experience of a customer using MarkLogic products.
  • Possess good communication skills to interact with both local and remote teams effectively.

Required knowledge/skills: 

  • 3-6 years of experience working in a Performance (System & reliability testing) position on a Database Search Engine.
  • Strong debugging skills and interest in working on Server-side and REST APIs.
  • Strong programming experience in Java, JavaScript, and preferably in XQuery.
  • Working knowledge with UNIX and Shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience delivering test automation leveraging Agile process and CI/CD frameworks
  • Strong documentation and analytical skills

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with search technologies and prior experience working with search engines is a plus.
  • Knowledge of/experience working in an Enterprise Server environment is desirable, as is a working knowledge of groovy for creating and configuring Jenkins pipelines.
  • Enterprise-level databases experience (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server and MySQL) is a plus. 
  • Experience/familiarity with XQuery is a plus.

As the Accounts Payable Analyst, you will serve as a key contributor to a high growth environment. Working closely with the Accounts Payable Leadership team and cross functional partners to drive efficiency, process improvements and cost saving opportunities through analytics, reporting, auditing and training. The Analyst will also assist in supporting all department functions and processes in line with standard accounting practices and internal controls. The desired candidate will look for ways to improve the overall full cycle AP processes and their efficiency. The Analyst will work with all levels of the department personnel and leadership team to drive the UAT strategy and implementation of systems, processes, and overall solutions that support our daily activities and functions. In this role, the AP Analyst will use their understanding of how end to end Accounts Payable processes intertwine in all Finance functions, to identify and solve issues focusing on continuous improvement.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Software Developer, with a proven track record in developing, maintaining, and supporting advanced software systems for an upcoming opportunity. As a vital contributor to our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Application Development (AD) production baseline is consistently maintained with accurate software configuration management across multiple releases. Your role will entail developing and implementing a fully integrated systems infrastructure, facilitating Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes, and performing technical integration activities to minimize program critical risk exposure.

The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in various IRS tax processing systems, including but not limited to submission processing systems, corporate data systems, compliance and case processing systems, and modernized systems. You will work closely within an Integrated Project Team (IPT) that includes IRS staff and other contractors, adopting the Iterative Enterprise Life Cycle (ELC) development path and methodology to support the IPT in various capacities.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the AD production baseline is maintained with accurate software configuration management across multiple releases, ensuring lifecycle environments are ready for use.
  • Develops and implements a fully integrated systems infrastructure, complete with related management processes.
  • Actively supports Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) initiatives, ensuring seamless integration from end-to-end in the software development and deployment process. This includes continuous compilation, testing, and delivery of source code to test environments for immediate error detection.
  • Performs upgrading configurations, delivery automation, and backlog grooming sessions.
  • Minimizes program critical risk exposure and ensures that technical solutions are safe, secure, extensible, and scalable.
  • Establishes and documents standard operating procedures for both technical integration and broader project or program activities.
  • Offers in-depth knowledge on a variety of IRS tax processing systems, including submission processing systems, corporate data systems, compliance and case processing systems, and modernized systems.
  • Works as a key member of an Integrated Project Team (IPT) that includes IRS staff and other contractors. This involves adopting the Iterative Enterprise Life Cycle (ELC) development path and methodology and supporting the IPT in various capacities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on systems software.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing software solutions using Java, including Java EE/SE, JSP, JSF, and Hibernate, showcasing the ability to address complex development challenges.
  • Proven ability in designing, developing, and integrating web services using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles, reflecting a deep understanding of distributed systems architecture.
  • Experience with Oracle 10g/11g environments and Oracle Real Application Clusters, as well as implementing middleware rules engines like Drools, showing proficiency in database and middleware technologies.
  • Expertise in implementing continuous integration and deployment processes with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD pipeline, and automated testing techniques, demonstrating a commitment to modern development practices.
  • Extensive experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments, indicating adaptability, effective teamwork, and a commitment to iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience with cloud-based development and deployments, and containerization technologies like Docker and OpenShift, demonstrating knowledge of modern infrastructure and deployment methodologies.
  • Experience in implementing cyber security policies, procedures, and best practices, including understanding the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), to ensure secure software development practices.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a senior development role is preferred.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is highly recommended.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directly interfaces with engineers, procurement specialists, construction supervision, and management as necessary at the planning stages of the project and during the execution of the project.

  • Prepares Resource-loaded Baseline Schedules and Schedule Basis documents, detailing execution/ contracting strategies, assumptions,
  • Updates and maintains project schedules and progress and performance interfaces
  • Independently provides analysis and workarounds, when required, to mitigate schedule delays
  • Works with project controls counterparts – cost analysts & estimators – to  align schedules with estimate, cost and earned value progress systems
  • Reviews potential changes against project scope/ execution plans and provides inputs on schedule impact of scope changes and trends
  • Provides oversight to junior/ intermediate schedulers specifically related to interface with construction
  • Independently provides analysis and workarounds, when required, to mitigate schedule delays
  • Supports management of construction-to-commissioning and commissioning-to-operations interfaces
  • Working with the Team on Integrated Level-4/Level-5 schedules Construction to Pre-commissioning
  • Manages schedule interfaces between engineering, procurement and construction

Qualifications

  • An Engineering or Business degree AND/OR Relevant Qualification in the field of Planning/ Scheduling, Project Controls and Project Management
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the field of Planning and Scheduling
  • Minimum 4 years experience in preparation of construction schedules
  • Relevant experience in the field of cost control and monitoring
  • Work experience primarily in the Canadian oil, gas, petrochemicals and mining & infrastructure industries, preferably with Engineering or EPC Consultants
  •  Knowledge of CPM scheduling concepts
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills (both verbal and written)
