Who you are

  • Very good & MVP-focused coding skills in PHP (Laravel/Symfony) minimum of 2 years
  • Practical & recent experience with JS Frameworks like Vue, React or React Native
  • Good background in building complex and beautiful products which are able to handle the requests by millions of users
  • Good technical understanding of RESTful API’s
  • Passionate about writing well-structured, efficient and maintainable code, actively keeping the quality of the code base in check
  • Used to work in an English speaking environment
  • As a Lead Fullstack Dev
    • 5+ years of experience in developing high-scalable software products with PHP (Laravel or Symfony framework) and JavaScript (preferably Vue.js or React.js)

What you’ll do

  • Assist software developers with secure coding and architecture practices

    • Serving as a liaison between Compliance and Engineering to ensure we are meeting our regulatory requirements

About you

  • 6 years of application security experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • GIAC, GSEC, CISSP, OSCP or other security certifications preferred
  • Experience with web application security, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
  • Familiarity with SecDevOps and CI/CD best practices
  • Knowledge of cloud security, including AWS
  • Knowledge of container security, including Docker or Kubernetes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and get up to speed quickly.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills. Ability to say No.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform vulnerability and penetration testing, emphasizing automation for testing and remediation.
  • Collaborate with developers, DevSecOps, and other teams to conduct repetitive validation testing and ensure a continuous cycle of secure development.
  • Stay updated on public-facing security issues, adopt new testing tactics, and actively participate in application projects and change management committees.
  • Define and follow a security review process, utilizing dynamic and static code analysis resources.

  4. Once you submit the assignment, we'll schedule time for you to review your code with an engineer, followed up by a chat with a recruiter.

  5. From there, we'll get back to you with a final decision!

Applications will be considered on a rolling basis until the internship is filled. The internship is 12-weeks long and will be fully virtual with the opportunity to be hybrid if you are located near our San Francisco, Redwood City, Chicago, Austin, or New York City office locations.

What you'll do

Cloudflare is looking for a backend engineer on our control plan product platform to help us build and maintain the codebase that powers both our customer APIs as well as internal service APIs. This is a role for engineers that are familiar with standard backend backend architecture, and capable in database design and interaction. Our API platform is under constant load and scrutiny, so experience and commitment to easily understood and test code is also a key part of the role. Your ability to visualize the flow of data through a complex application is critical to your success, and to the team’s. You will be working closely with the product team to understand and document the functional needs of their product requirements, developing new code to solve new problems, as well as maintaining existing code to squash bugs. Our tech stack includes services built using Go, Redis, Postgres, and Cloudflare products (e.g. Workers). We are looking for proficiency in RESTful API design, relational databases (SQL), and modern containerized deployment practices.

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience building and managing software applications at large scale.
