Job Description

The mission of the Project Director is to successfully manage and deliver international Market Research projects, providing excellent client service and achieving project financial goals, demonstrating superior level of knowledge and expertise in project management and fieldwork, with strong focus on healthcare and ability to handle projects of high complexity.

The Project Director is also responsible for contributing and supporting improvement plans on internal processes and client service policies across the project lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Including, but not limited to the following:

  • Manage international market research projects through entire project lifecycle, ensuring client satisfaction and project financial goals are at core of decision making, keeping ownership of all aspects of the project, including:
    • Project specifications review, project set up, resource planning, fieldwork and timelines planning
    • Coordination of project kick-off meetings to ensure all involved parties understand project specifications, client needs, timelines, and responsibilities
    • Programming, translations, overlays and testing, ensuring quality standards and timelines are met
    • Project launch execution and analysis, with detailed feedback to clients with a solution approach
    • Fieldwork management, delivering timely and high-quality client updates, proactively managing and monitoring project recruitment to ensure smooth and timely delivery via maximisation of internal sample, custom recruitment and partner onboarding, controlling project budget and achieving project financial goals
    • Ensure market research participants have a positive project experience by following sampling practices, and ensuring incentive approvals and project queries are handled in timely manner
    • Provide to client the agreed deliverables within expected timelines and quality
    • Meet billing deadlines and goals, ensuring high adherence to internal processes
  • Support in the training and management of Junior Project Managers.  As well as the delegation of work. Collaborate with senior management to lead, motivate and develop junior staff. Line Management of junior project managers & to lead by example
  • The Project Director will ensure, through efficient management and their own administration, all jobs are carried out within agreed timing schedules and budgets to the level expected by both the client and All Global.
  • Manage and leverage relationships with vendors to facilitate accurate and timely deliverables, communications, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with Sales and Client Service teams to address issues and/or make recommendations to improve performance in a timely manner on market research studies.
  • Support the execution client service improvement plans on allocated accounts, ensuring collaboration with sales and other members of the team, and providing a consistent and solution-oriented approach across each touch point of the client journey

Qualifications

Must have 3-5 years’ experience in market research project management, preferably in healthcare

  • Be a self-motivated individual with exceptional time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work well meet deadlines and under pressure.
  • Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • have well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment to successfully meet departmental objectives.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple online research projects accurately and on-time in a fast-paced environment where moving deadlines and other changes often occur in real time.

ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for creating the strategy for the project delivery, and leading the project management on very large, complex design projects.  This includes leading clients and teams, mentoring our people, advancing the quality of our work, integrating our range of design services, managing our processes, and delivering solid financial performance. 
 
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Project Director
  • Develop and lead the overall strategy for project delivery on large, complex design projects.
  • Lead large project teams, in conjunction with the client and other project and firm leadership, to develop project goals and work plans, to achieve design excellence, quality, budget, schedule, innovation and profitability objectives.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day leadership, management and overall delivery success of large scale, multi-year projects – including defining project controls, managing project scope, schedule, and budget, managing risks. 
  • Develop a partnering relationship with the client early in an engagement to establish shared expectations and provide clarity on how we will work together, the involvement of key stakeholders, identify decision making authority and the timing of key decisions.
  • Participate in negotiating the contract with other project leadership, the Business Practice Leader, Legal Team, and firm leadership. Facilitate the development, evolution and management of the work plan, budget, and schedule.
  • Understand contractual obligations to the client to ensure that the team delivers on expectations for approved scope of work and required services. Work proactively with the client to identify and obtain approvals for additions to scope of work or services prior to undertaking the work. Proactively communicate with and influence clients to approve and process payables for our services.
  • Accountable for developing a risk management plan, risk mitigation and compliance plan.
  • Coordinate work effort and resources across multiple teams, workstreams and interdependencies to meet milestones and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Implement CannonDesign process expectations, best practices, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology to achieve competitive advantage, quality service delivery, enhanced team productivity and profitability. Responsible for ensuring that the team meets statutory requirements for the project.
  • Leverage experience and judgement to anticipate potential issues and ensure appropriate client and internal communication including written project documentation regarding design, construction, and other issues to clients in a clear and compelling way. Accountable for maintaining the project record, including but not limited to capturing and documenting key decisions and records within the CannonDesign standard file structure.
  • Accountable for implementation of the QA/QC process. Monitor the technical quality of the projects. Enforce the application of QA/QC process standards and requirements. Additionally, be an active participant in the QA/QC process.
  • Manage and coordinate workload of team and provide leadership of team activities. Communicate client objectives to team members in a clear and compelling way. Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to team members. Identify and share lessons learned with teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members. Generate and support a positive team environment: participation, empowerment, and accomplishment.
  • Manage design and documentation process and implementation of the design during the construction process.
  • Facilitate key meetings and presentations as required, including regular status/progress updates with clients, internal project teams and firm leadership.
  • Participate in Business Development activity and proactively partner with Marketing and Office Leadership as needed to help grow top line.
  • Build and maintain positive client relations throughout the life of the project.
  • Work with other project management leaders in the firm to develop and share best practices and efficiencies, educating on and sharing project management skillsets including a unique Project Director Team focused, specifically large complex project delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Professional business attire required when attending client meetings. Examples of professional business attire include suites, ties, collared dress shirts, dresses, and skirts. 

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, or related degree required. 
  • MBA or business degree a plus but not required.
  • Current Licensure or registration in the United States preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of related experience managing large multi-disciplinary projects, including experience managing  projects with construction budgets of over $250M.
  • Health project experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing projects with large complex teams that have achieved financial goals.
  • Demonstrated strong client and team leadership skills.
  • Must have the ability to lead clients and teams.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, coordination and communication skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team and client is essential.
  • Familiarity with MS Project, Deltek Project Planning, Revit, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Deltek Vision, Bluebeam as well as other data management software is required.
  • Ability to travel to on a regular basis as required.
 
The salary range for this position is $161,400 to $201,750 annually. This salary range is the range we believe is the anticipated range of possible base compensation at the timing of the posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the anticipated salary range for the position. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses. We offer a full benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage and flexible spending account options and voluntary insurances. We have paid time off, flex-time summer hours, remote work options and a 401k plan and employee perk programs. Key Responsabilities :

  • Ensure that the relevant Change and Training Leads are working in accordance with the approved methodology, including that for Change Management, using all standard tools and techniques, and are reporting status on a weekly and monthly basis.

  • Establish an effective direct relationship with selected senior stakeholders where appropriate
  • Responsible for ensuring that CMT staff have full awareness and understanding of all contractual and commercial aspects of each client, and an awareness of any strategic elements to the relationship which are shared to ensure collective understanding
  • Responsible for high level oversight (through formal review) to ensure that all relevant staff are committed to supporting the Change Management method if operating at L3, and clear and unambiguous risk alerts to client senior management at L1/2
  • Supporting other functions, specifically Finance and Sales, as required to support the operation of the Hitachi business.
  • Communicate to the regional Marketing team on all relevant project updates and success stories
  • Fulfil the role of Career Development Manager to Change Management and Training Leads

Key Accountabilities

  • Accountable to the Regional Delivery Lead for their allocated clients, and accountable for the Regional Project Managers and Project Support teams working with their clients. Accountable for the management of the relationship with senior stakeholders.
  • The Project Director will be accountable for a defined set of clients and all projects within that client account. The Project Director will work with the Account Director, and Project Manager to ensure the commercial management of the account. Ensuring that all projects are delivered to time, quality and budget.
  • The overall performance of all delivery work carried out within their client base
  • Ensure that all internal published controls and processes are followed
  • Ensure the quality of all commercial documents, including Work Orders, is of an acceptable standard to the Executive Management team.

Qualifications

Key Competencies

  • 5 years’ experience of Change Management in complex change management projects (ideally ERP)
  • Director level ‘soft skills’/EQ to facilitate the introduction of a new department and new methodology & roles to Delivery.
  • The ability to recruit, train, manage and measure the performance of a Change Management & Training team that will be fit for purpose to deliver the agreed methodology (as opposed to L4/Transformation)
  • Demonstrated experience of building and maintaining relationships with senior executives within both Hitachi and client organisations
  • Demonstrated understanding of and preferably experience with the use of structured Change Management methodologies, and a willingness to fit into Hitachi’s chosen CMT strategy and method.
  • Commercially aware
