About the role:

We’re looking for a Director to join our Operations Collective and lead our Quality Assurance, Learning and Knowledge Management specialisms. We are looking for a senior leader to shape our strategy, partnering with our Customer Operations teams to enable amazing service and outcomes for our customers. The successful person will design and run Quality Assurance processes and controls and lead all aspects of our knowledge management and learning processes for Global Operations. Directors at Monzo join the company-wide Senior Leadership Team and are expected to lead both within their role but also make a broad impact across the organisation

What you’ll be working on:

  • Leading the Quality Assurance function for Operations and setting the strategy to align to the Customer Experience we’re driving towards
  • Implementing new processes, systems and tools to support our growth ambitions
  • Designing and delivering knowledge solutions to Customer Operatives across our UK and international third party locations
  • Identifying trends through data analysis, delivering insightful root cause analysis to business leaders 
  • Ensuring we focus our efforts on areas of highest risk and impact to our customers 
  • Embedding changes we’ve made to raise the bar in meeting the Consumer Duty
  • Supporting the strategy for Learning and development, to support growth of the Operation and help drive excellent performance

You’ll spend your time:

  • Leading a large distributed QA team 50-100 people
  • Leading the Learning and Development and Knowledge Management teams
  • Partnering with our third party service providers in strategic locations
  • Setting and executing on systems strategy
  • Delivering accurate and timely quality assurance with insightful root cause analysis, identifying trends and instilling a culture of continuous improvement for our customers
  • Ensuring Customer Operatives are equipped with timely and easy-to-digest training and knowledge management tools, to best enable them to serve our customers
  • Identifying use cases for automation, self-service and potential deployment of artificial intelligence, to help us scale
  • Escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency and creating a positive risk culture.
  • Engaging confidently with senior leadership including C-suite and VPs

What You’ll Do

The Senior Backend Software Engineer is a critical member of the Calm Engineering Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the backend systems that power our mobile and web applications. You will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, product managers, and customers to ensure that our products are reliable, performant, and secure. Specifically, you will: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop technical specifications
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that are reliable, scalable, and secure

The base salary ranges below represent the low and high end of Calm’s salary range for this position in various geographic locations. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.In the United States, Calm has four geographic pay zones. For this position, the base pay ranges for candidates in each zone are:

Zone A: $185,500- $259,700

Zone B: $166,950 - $233,730

Zone C: $157,675 - $220,745

Zone D: $148,400 - $207,760

This role is also eligible for equity + comprehensive benefits + 401k + flexible time off.

Who you'll be be joining

Our Embedded Chapter is made up of 20+ Embedded Developers with a wide variety of specialties, skill sets, backgrounds, and experiences. They aim to bring their Embedded experience to the cross-functional squads that they are a part of, with a focus on collaboration, learning, development.

As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you will be responsible for helping develop the software that powers our hardware products.  These devices run on a multitude of platforms from small, battery operated microcontrollers to full-blown multicore embedded Linux systems. 

The embedded team is in a unique position as we own a wide breadth of the technologies that get built into our devices making each day a unique challenge. You may be working on portions of the low-level software/hardware interactions, but equally important is the development of the user applications that run on device.  Everything from network protocols, to control algorithms to building enticing graphic UI’s. 

The embedded team is also responsible for developing the test fixtures used to validate the functionality of each device manufactured.  These devices are truly products on their own and no less complex considering the hardware and software systems they must interface with.

Aside from the in-house technologies, the embedded team is often also responsible for integrating third-party services.  For example, we developed the device software stack that allowed us to become one of the first Apple HomeKit accessories on the market as well as more recently one of the first third parties to integrate Amazon Voice Services for Alexa functionality built right into a thermostat and on device Siri integration.  

To accomplish all of this, at any given time you may be working closely with developers from other teams as well as our QA, Product Management, Manufacturing, Hardware teams and third-party tech companies on integrations.

About the role

What you'll do

  • Design test processes and procedures  to ensure the Salesforce solutions and implementations operate within the defined requirements.

Technical Coordination Assistance

  • Serves as the data privacy team’s technical coordinator to the technology, data insights, and operations teams.
  • Conducts quality checks on the company’s systems and processes involved in data privacy request processing to ensure compliance with data privacy laws, in consultation with the relevant internal system owners (e.g., data retention in various database platforms after data anonymization/pseudonymization)
  • Reviews and audits existing internal and vendor processes and technologies to help mitigate data privacy vulnerabilities and prevent potential future privacy risks.
  • Assists in investigating data breaches and incidents and works closely with the Senior Compliance Manager in drafting internal and external data privacy breach/incident reports.

What we’re looking for:

  • College graduate of any course.

Square is hiring a Remote Quality Management Team Lead - Risk & Regulatory

Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Team Lead at Cash App to support the continued development of Cash Customer Operations (CCO) Quality Management program. Cash App’s mission is to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available and universally accessible and the CCO Quality Management program plays a key role in bringing that mission to life for our customers. The CCO Quality Management team’s role is to monitor and measure business-level processes and procedures to  ensure customer experience quality and compliance.

The CCO Quality Assurance Team Lead will lead a team of tenured, knowledgeable, and experienced Quality Assurance analysts who support quality assurance for a broad spectrum of CCO departments and stakeholders. QA analysts are responsible for providing evaluations and assessments of customer interactions and providing feedback and actionable insights to operations leaders. The QA Team Lead is responsible for driving results within the team to meet key business KPIs, coaching and developing QA analysts, supporting the analysis of trend-based data and developing actionable recommendations for business level leaders. The lead also works directly with the QA Sr. Lead and cross-functional stakeholders to support the development and implementation of key quality initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality standards are adhered to in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

  • Participate and host calibration meetings to ensure the team is scoring consistently and fairly and analyzing the rubric and scoring criteria

  • Facilitate discussions around trends and opportunities for improvement

  • Contribute to projects optimizing the regulatory program and operation team's processes 

  • Recommend suggestions that help define new process improvement opportunities

  • Work in collaboration with Customer Success, Risk, and other operations teams within Block

  • Serve as a source of knowledge for Quality Assurance expectations and processes to the rest of CCO Leadership. 

  • Coach and mentor team members with a focus on professional development and upstream thinking

  • Develop and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) of team performance in the areas of efficiency, quality, and team calibration. Provides reports as needed.

  • Work cross-functionally within the CCO organization using data to identify trends, promote key initiatives, and remove barriers to success.

  • Treat Quality Assurance as a product at Cash App, improving and iterating on the internal and external customer experiences.

  • Lead end-to-end project plans and ensure delivery of essential success plans

  • Gather and summarize relevant data, suggesting improvements in the tools and techniques to help scale the team

  • Scale the Quality Assurance team by capitalizing on opportunities for increased efficiency, driving productivity plans, and maintaining an appropriate headcount as CCO scales. 

  • A self starter who can manage projects and tasks end to end with minimal supervision, providing regular updates to management

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing a team

  • 2+ years experience in a quality control or quality assurance role 

  • Working knowledge of regulations, risks, and typologies; as well as industry best practices

  • Investigative skills, including familiarity with public record research and database tools

  • Working knowledge of regulations related to taxes and investments 

  • Working knowledge and experience of identity verification and models 

  • Relevant industry certifications (CAMS, CFE, CQIA, COPC) - if not CQIA certified ability to test for the exam within a year of hire

  • Experience with utilizing and/or writing SQL Queries and Snowflake - working knowledge of data analysis to interpret team data and present for executive leadership

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally; comfortable using data to secure outcomes 

  • Proven ability to navigate a rapidly changing environment

  • Multi-channel leadership experience 

  • Creative problem-solving abilities

  • Passion for Cash App and ensuring an outstanding internal and external customer experience

  • Leadership experience in managing outsourced teams and relationships

  • Experience working in or with a call center environment 

  • Project Management Experience

  • Experience with utilizing and/or writing SQL Queries and Snowflake

  • Experience with reviewing virtual currency activity from a BSA/AML perspective
