What you will do:

• Play a key role in gathering business requirements, using them for product analysis and uncovering actionable insights, and writing technical requirements; using a variety of analytic tools
• Perform in-depth analysis of healthcare data coupled with data from product and other sources to independently design, develop, and deliver analytic deliverables that meet quality, cost and service objectives
• Leveraging data from various sources, e.g., eligibility, medical, pharmacy claims, and data submitted by providers via the prior authorization process, working with Clinical Programs to analyze and simulate expected impact and ROI, e.g., medical expense, administrative cost, improved quality and outcomes

Your background & requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field

• Self-starter, able to work independently, able to succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity start-up environment
• Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R, PySpark, Scala and/or Spark SQL)

The Role: Senior Application Security Engineer

As a member of the Application Security (AppSec) team, you will share in the responsibility of protecting the company and our customers against application security threats. The AppSec team is focused on the advancement of modern application security practices and supports the engineering organization by finding, fixing, and preventing software security vulnerabilities.

As a Senior Application Security Engineer on the Application Security team’s Product Security group, you will work closely with engineering and product teams to provide security recommendations and identify security issues throughout the software development lifecycle. This includes secure design reviews, threat modeling, secure code review, and penetration testing among other activities.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Gemini Secure Software Development Lifecycle as an application security subject matter expert through design review, threat modeling, code review, and penetration testing
• Collaborate and advise engineering teams on application security best practices and vulnerability remediation

SUMMARY

Salary Range: The base salary range for this role is between $227,000 - $284,000 in the State of New York, the State of California and the State of Washington. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.

We are looking for a Solutions Consultant to be part of our Professional Services team to deploy cloud products and services for our customers. This person must be a hands-on, self-starter who loves solving innovative problems in a fast-paced, agile environment. The ideal candidate will have the insight to connect a specific business problem and Snowflake’s solution and communicate that connection and vision to various technical and executive audiences.

It means keeping up to date on the ever-evolving data and analytics technologies, and working collaboratively with a broad range of people inside and outside the company  to be an authoritative resource for Snowflake and its customers.

AS A SOLUTIONS CONSULTANT AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:

• Be responsible for delivering exceptional outcomes for our teams and customers during our migration projects.  You will engage with customers and APJ consulting teams  to assist with the migration from legacy environments into Snowflake and or Snowpark
• In addition to customer engagements, you will work with our internal team to provide requirements for our Snowconvert utility, based on project experiences.  This ensures that our tooling is continuously improved based on our implementation experience.  

OUR IDEAL SOLUTIONS CONSULTANT WILL HAVE:

• University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a solutions architect, data architect, database administrator, or data engineer.
• Willingness to forge ahead to deliver outcomes for customers in a new arena, with a new product set
• Passion for solving complex customer problems
• Ability to learn new technology and build repeatable solutions/processes
• Ability to anticipate project roadblocks and have mitigation plans in-hand
• Experience in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, AI/ML, migration, or Cloud projects
• Experience in building realtime and batch data pipelines using Spark and Scala
• Proven track-record of results with multi-party, multi-year digital transformation engagements
• Proven ability to communicate and translate effectively across multiple groups from design and engineering to client executives and technical leaders
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Outstanding skills presenting to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations Hands-on experience in a technical role (SQL, data warehousing, cloud data, analytics, or ML/AI)
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with large-scale database technology (e.g. Snowflake, Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum, etc.)
• Software development experience with Python, Java , Spark and other Scripting languages
• Proficiency in implementing data security measures, access controls, and design within the Snowflake platform.
• Internal and/or external consulting experience.

SKILLSET AND DELIVERY ACTIVITIES:

• Have the ability to outline the architecture of Spark and Scala environments
• Guide customers on architecting and building data engineering pipelines on Snowflake 
• Run workshops and design sessions with stakeholders and customers
• Create repeatable processes and documentation as a result of customer engagement
• Scripting using python and shell scripts for ETL workflow
• Develop best practices, including ensuring knowledge transfer so that customers are properly enabled and are able to extend the capabilities of Snowflake on their own
• Weigh in on and develop frameworks  for Distributed Computing, Apache Spark, PySpark, Python, HBase, Kafka, REST based API, and Machine Learning as part of our tools development (Snowconvert) and overall modernization processes

Grammarly team members in this role must be based in San Francisco, and they must be able to collaborate in person at least 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub(s) where the team is based.

As a Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will contribute to building the scalable, secure, and efficient data systems that power our entire organization. You’ll work on designing and implementing critical data infrastructure and systems that enable real-time and batch processing, data analytics, and machine learning workflows. This role offers the opportunity to rapidly grow your data engineering and back-end infrastructure skills while working alongside experienced engineers.

You will be able to work with cutting-edge technologies and tools, contributing to projects that handle large-scale data pipelines, build secure and compliant data systems, and improve our data platform’s performance and scalability. In this role, you will:

• Build and maintain key components of the data platform, including data pipelines and infrastructure for data storage, processing, and delivery.
• Learn and apply concepts in data engineering, such as distributed data processing, real-time data streams, and batch processing.
• Work with technologies like Spark, Kafka, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS) to deliver scalable and reliable data systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, ML engineers, and back-end developers, to help build data-driven solutions and tools.
• Ensure that systems are scalable and performant, contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of the data platform.

Qualifications

• Has 2-5 years of software engineering experience, with an aptitude for data infrastructure or data engineering.
• Is a fast learner who is eager to develop their skills in building large-scale distributed systems and data platforms.
• Has experience with some of the following: Python, Java, Scala, SQL, or cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• (Preferably) understands basic data concepts such as data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time/batch data processing.
• Is familiar with data technologies like Spark, Kafka, Kinesis, or similar tools, and is interested in expanding their knowledge in these areas.
• Has strong problem-solving skills and is passionate about learning how to build and scale data systems.
