Your Role:

Tenable is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our Vulnerability Intelligence Feeds research team. This position will focus on the design, development, and maintenance of our framework of web scrapers, data normalizers, content generators, and custom libraries which automate vulnerability intelligence generation.

Your Opportunity:

  • Your daily work will have a significant, positive impact on our customers’ problems, as well as drive strategic innovation for future products and offerings. This team plays an integral role within our Tenable research department, and is actively expanding so we can continue to provide top-notch vulnerability intelligence and push the boundaries of what is possible.
  • You will collaborate closely with highly-talented engineers whose backgrounds and expertise span across several different areas and interests. You will have a chance to learn from your job daily as well as those around you. Specifically, you will:

    • Develop automated web scraping tools to collect vulnerability intelligence from multiple different types of sources
    • Develop and maintain an automated system for generating and validating content for Tenable products
    • Support a DevOps / CICD software delivery model
    • Analyze current workflows and suggest, design and implement improvements
    • Collaborate with other teams in an Agile development environment
    • Incrementally improve the quality of our offerings

 What You'll Need:

  • 2+ years of software development experience in Python
  • M.S. degree in Computer Science or directly related field, or equivalent work experience
  • The ability to find, evaluate, and recommend potential sources of intelligence
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work both in a self-directed manner and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Disciplined focus on roadmap contribution and execution, willingness to shift priorities as needed
  • A security-focused development attitude
  • An obsession with quality and eager to learn
  • A desire to mentor software engineers on the team
  • Strong understanding of a full software development life cycle (SDLC): requirements analysis, design, estimation, development, quality control and unit testing

  And Ideally:

  • Experience with web-scraping and data normalization
  • Experience with Cloud applications, services, and tools
  • Experience with version-control tools, issue/bug tracking and reporting, and agile project management
  • Working knowledge of Kibana, Splunk, Jenkins

The base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $133,333.33 USD. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance. Full Stack Developer

Position Summary:

The Role

We are currently seeking a hybrid ETL developer to design and implement ETL processes while subsequently assisting our engineering team on the development front. You will build ETL pipelines to ingest the data from heterogeneous sources into our system. You should have excellent business and communication skills, and be able to work with business owners to understand their data requirements and help them make data-related decisions using your ETL knowledge and experience.

The job role might also require you to learn new tools and technologies fast, and you should have in-depth database knowledge as well as basic programming and scripting skills. You will help to build efficient and stable data pipelines which can be easily maintained in the future. You should have expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our data migration team to own the process of transferring and migrating data for our new clients going through onboarding from their prior EMR into Prompt
  • Design, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities
  • Gather requirements and business process knowledge in order to transform the data in a way that’s geared towards the needs of end users
  • Take over responsibilities for developing and maintaining Prompt’s Business Intelligence Platform
  • Enable Prompt’s BI platform to support third party data ingestion and third party data extraction
  • Make contributions towards Prompt’s overall data model
  • Maintain and improve already existing processes
  • Ensure that the data architecture is scalable and maintainable
  • Work with the business in designing and delivering correct, high quality data
  • Investigate data to identify potential issues within ETL pipelines, notify end-users and propose adequate solutions
  • Prepare documentation for future reference

Skills

  • SQL knowledge (query performance tuning, index maintenance, etc.) as well as an understanding of database structure
  • Knowledge of data modeling principles
  • Organizational skills: time management and planning
  • Knowledge of at least one ETL tool (SSIS, Informatica, Talend, etc.)
  • Experience with at least one backend programming language: Python/Java/Go/Ruby/PHP/etc
  • Knowledge of various SQL/NoSQL data storage mechanisms and Big Data technologies
  • High attention to detail
  • Passionate about complex data structures and problem solving
  • Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly

As the Software Engineer, you will:

What we’re looking for in a Software Engineer:

  • Authorization to legally work in the US (Pearl is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time).
  • 3+ years experience in web and/or mobile software development
  • Experience in Flutter and Dart (or willingness to learn)
  • Demonstrated architectural/system-level design and development experience
  • A core belief in quality at all levels from user experience to code presentation
  • Attention to detail
  • Hands-on experience (or working knowledge of) publishing applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
  • Experience in SDLC tooling, testing infrastructure, code collaboration, issue tracking
  • Experience developing with and integrating APIs
  • Computer Science or related field degree or equivalent experience
  • Please note that Pearl requires employees to be fully vaccinated (and boosted if the appropriate time period has passed) for business travel and in-person meetings; occasional travel for team and/or company wide meetings is anticipated for all positions
