Position Description:

Director of Implementation is a leadership role with direct oversight of the Service Implementation Team (SIT), Security Design and Integration (SDI) team, and Logistics & Asset Management team (LOG). In addition to direct oversight of implementation teams, the Director of Implementation is an organizational leader across all divisions of Nuspire providing support, thought leadership, and sponsorship of initiatives that support rapid growth and development. Experience with SOC tools and SIEM platforms with Situational Awareness is necessary. Exceptional technical aptitude for information security tools and products a requirement. The employee will work closely with internal Nuspire teams and clients in a high-profile operations delivery role, providing high-level and mission critical services to Managed Security Service clients. Typically, 10+ years of related experience. The Director of Implementation reports to and is accountable to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).

 

Responsibilities:

Leadership tasks and requirements include but are not limited to:

Team Leadership for SIT, SDI, and LOG

  • Evaluate sales forecasts, projects, workload projections, and estimate impact against staffing levels
  • Identify, establish, maintain, optimize, and automate business processes
  • Evaluate metrics from each team to support business decisions
  • Operate high-performing services organization by growing a best-in-industry team that exemplifies operational excellence
  • Establish and oversee employee growth plans, mentorship plans, and training
  • Achieve rapid revenue recognition through onboarding activities
  • Escalation contact for each team as well as organizational escalations through the Nuspire Incident Commander process

 

SIT Team Leadership

  • Oversee direct implementation and franchise implementation activities
  • Work closely with Project Management organization to ensure on time delivery is met for implementations
  • Ensure smooth onboarding experience for customers from kick off to operations go live
  • Monitor and address exceptions to standard implementation KPIs
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction rates during client onboarding experience

 

SDI Team Leadership

  • Oversee coordination between Product team to SDI team for new or modified product proposals
  • Ensure Minimum Viable Product testing and acceptance criteria map to operational requirements
  • Evaluate output of SDI team to SIT, SOC, NOC, and SEs to validate processes are enabling successful launch of new products and services
  • Monitor and address exceptions to SDI operational output KPIs

 

LOG Team Leadership

  • Maintain shipping and receiving services and their adherence to processes and established fulfillment KPIs
  • Oversight of Nuspire owned assets, the asset management lifecycle, and asset retirement and destruction
  • Evaluation and optimization of warehouse allocation and space requirements across all Nuspire locations

 

Support for Product & Marketing Functions

  • Establish and maintain executive connections and escalation contacts with critical service vendors involved in delivery of Nuspire services
  • Represent Nuspire and Information Security Professionals as a Subject Matter Expert for hosted Webinars, Trade Shows, and Marketing events
  • Provide operational insight to new product and service discussions
  • Ensure feedback loop from Operations to Product team is functional to allow for optimum service and product definition updates to meet market demand and Nuspire services delivery capabilities

 

Support for Sales & Finance Functions

  • Assess work effort including recurring and non-recurring labor related to products and services to support financial calculations of cost of goods sold or defined Scopes of Work
  • Support Deal Desk functions to define custom Scopes of Work for strategically important opportunities
  • Support sales as an ambassador to Nuspire Operations with representation of Day 1 activities during onboarding and the smooth transition to Day 2 ongoing operations
  • Enable Sales Engineering team to effectively scope and collect critical information needed to support onboarding
  • Ensure sales staff is adequately equipped to handle general questions on Nuspire onboarding processes and procedures

 

Support for IT Services and Development teams

  • Ensure that onboarding activities can be supported by Nuspire infrastructure and projected infrastructure growth plans
  • Serve as an ambassador between IT Services teams and Nuspire Operations team to facilitate ongoing stability and growth of service demands
  • Work with Development teams to automate core business processes and accelerate onboarding timelines

 

Support for Security Operations Teams (SecOPS)

  • Serve as an escalation point for SecOPS for challenges related to onboarding, RMA, logistics, and new product launches
  • Ensure SecOPS operational requirements are accounted for and delivered upon in all onboarding activities
  • Evaluate feedback from SecOPS and incorporate into improvements of onboarding and logistical processes and procedures

 

Support for Client Success, Project Management, and Quality & Training teams

  • Support Client Success initiatives especially those aimed to addressing client concerns during initial onboarding activities
  • Enable visibility to resource allocation of SIT, SDI, and LOG team members for Project Management resource planning
  • Serve as project sponsor for projects targeting new service launches or improvements within Nuspire operations
  • Ensure Nuspire academy training programs are built, maintained, effective, and efficient for all service areas related to SIT, SDI, and LOG functions

 

Required Skillsand Experience: 

  • 10+ years professional experience maintaining industry leading security technologies or infrastructure systems in complex technical IT operations environment.
  • Training and experience in one or more non-SIEM network security products to include: Enterprise endpoint security products, Network components such as Firewalls, Network Access Control, Intrusion Prevention and Proxies to include Palo Alto / SentinelOne / FortiGate / Meraki / Cisco / Blue Coat / Imperva / ForeScout or other similar network security products.
  • Understanding of network architecture and implementation
  • Excellent time management, reporting, and communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with DevOps
  • Experience with managing employees
  • Superior IT problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work long hours in a mission critical environment with occasionally stressful situations.
  • Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
  • Experience with leading teams through complex projects

 

 Preferred Skills:

  • An understanding of a wide array of server grade applications such as: DBMS, Exchange, DNS, SMTP, IIS, Apache, SharePoint, Active Directory, Identity Management, Patch Management, LDAP, SQL, and others.
  • Experience with multiple SOC tools. ArcSight, Proofpoint, Nagios Qualys, SentinelOne, ForeScout, Firemon or other correlation platforms preferred. 

 

Education/Certifications/Training Required:

  • College degree or equivalent training with experience working in a Security Operations Center, Managed Security Engineering team, or enterprise client environment.
  • General security knowledge certification (GIAC, CISSP, CCSE, CISA, HBSS, NSA, CEH, Cisco Security, Security +, or other security certifications).

 

Education/Certifications/Training Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Security / Cyber Security

Job Description

Our clients at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) have an immediate need for a senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). The DBA will be mainly working on the Oracle 12c upgrade project.

 

The DBA will be working remotely for now and will be provided remote access to the department network; once the department is opening up the physical workplace, the resource will be required to work on premises.


With the increase in projects and application enhancement activities, the Database and Database Administration group within ADDDA requires additional capacity to complete and deliver these activities on time.


The services of a Database Administrator are required to support and maintain various corporate Oracle database applications.

 

The Oracle DBA will perform tasks that may include but are not limited to:

  • Review and analyze INAC representatives and/or other contractor resources’ (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts, and others at various levels) requests for database changes sent daily to the Database Support mailbox.
  • Assist INAC representatives to review data models to support database changes requested by INAC representatives and/or other contractor resources (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts, and others at various levels). Perform updates to data models using the ADDDA Standard Modeling Tool.
  • Develop and test SQL code to support database structure changes requested by INAC representatives and/other contractor resources (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts, and others at various levels).
  • Prepare, migrate and test database scripts to support database changes implemented through the development life cycle. Database scripts are to be saved at the appropriate location.
  • Assist INAC representatives and/other contractor resources (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts, and others at various levels) to coordinate weekly database changes implementation into production.
  • Assist INAC representatives and/other contractor resources (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts, and others at various levels) in delivering and implementing backup and recovery procedures for production implementation of the database changes.
  • Prepare Read me files to assist INAC representatives and/or other contractor resources (Database Administrators at various levels) responsible for implementing the database changes into production.
  • Implement database changes into production as per schedule following the change management control in place.
  • Perform database backup and recovery and database refresh operations upon requests received from INAC representatives and/or other contractor resources (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts, and others at various levels) for various INAC application’s databases. Database backups are to be saved as per INAC database backup procedures.
  • Implement INAC representatives and/or other contractor resources’ (Web Developers, Programmer/Analysts, and others at various levels) requests for access to various databases as per the database access and user account process in place.
  • Perform database development as per and using the database development standards, processes, procedures, and tools defined in the Database Development Framework (DDF).
  • Provide mentoring support to the database group (INAC representatives, Database Administrators, and Database Analysts/IM Administrators at various levels) by sharing skills and knowledge of ADDDA’s database applications and infrastructure and Database Development Framework (DDF).
  • Update database information documents to reflect changes made to the databases.
  • Update and process Test Track Pro Tickets as per the established Database Ticket Procedure.

 

The Oracle DBA will also be required to complete the following deliverables:

  • Update physical data models reflecting database structures changes in the data modeling tool.
  • Complete database scripts available to the database group (INAC representatives, Database Administrators, and Database Analyst/IM Administrator at various levels).
  • Ensure database backups are available to the database group (INAC representatives, Database Administrators, and Database Analyst/IM Administrator at various levels) when required for restores.
  • Complete Read me files for all production database scripts.
  • Complete and updated database information documents related to the various database applications.
  • Write status updates on database changes scheduled for implementation in production are provided weekly to the INAC representatives.
  • Update and process Test Track Pro Tickets.

Qualifications

Experience and skills sought in particular:

  • Strong Oracle 12c upgrade experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of database naming conventions, roles, grants, and permissions;
  • Experience in performing database analysis and recommending changes for database pre-upgrade;
  • Good documentation skills; and

What will I be doing?

Your role will be responsible for the continued maintenance, development, and integration of the EPSI Platform. This product is a fundamental power forecasting platform with focus on Europe and Asia, and deals with a variety of modelling techniques commodities, optimisations, broad set of technologies, datasets, and cross industry requirements.
