MindsDB is the type of company where you can grow exponentially, and we encourage you to apply to us even if you don't 100% match the candidate description.

Technology

With the plethora of data available in databases today, applying predictive modeling can often feel overwhelming - especially if you need to write complex applications for ingesting data, training encoders and embedders, writing sampling models, training, optimizing, scheduling, versioning, moving models into production environments, maintaining them and then having to explain the predictions and the degree of confidence… we thought there had to be a better way!

We aim to steer you away from constantly reinventing the wheel by abstracting most of the unnecessary complexities around building, training, and deploying machine learning models. MindsDB provides you with two techniques for this: Build and train models as simply as writing a SQL query, and seamlessly “publish” and manage machine learning models as virtual tables inside your databases. (right now we support Clickhouse, MariaDB, Mysql, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB and Snowflake).

It’s your job is to deliver quality for the Zivver platform which is used by around 1.5 million users. That said, you won’t be ticking off tickets all day - you make an impact on many levels; helping your teammates grow, sharing your voice and knowledge within the team, and initiating new ways of working.

According to your new colleague Keyvan, you do the cool stuff: “We offer a challenge that developers like to deal with: it’s all about security, encryption and certainly something your brain can chew on. And as long as you deliver, you are free to organize the day as you like.”

A day at Zivver

Today, you're finishing up a story that updates the way email message bodies are stored in Amazon S3. You need to complete the unit tests, and will create a merge request soon. After that, you ping a few developers for review. While running the pipeline, you notice that a test is failing for which you have some doubts so you connect with Keyvan, Mark and Kieren on Slack and together you fix the issue in the blink of an eye. You schedule a meeting with the team later this week to discuss the lessons learned and how we can avoid future issues.

Then it’s time to pick up the task you assigned yourself from the board of the current Sprint. You’ve found yourself in a puzzle and reach out to the team on Slack to answer your questions and discuss strategies with.

After a well deserved lunch break, you meet up with the Zivver Backend Guild. During this weekly video call, you share experiences and focus on how to approve our backend from a technical point of view. After a rather productive day so far, you revise your plan for the rest of the day. You help out a colleague reviewing a bunch of internal docs and share your knowledge and best practices. After a quick meeting with the team in the afternoon, you check out your schedule for tomorrow. Great! No meetings until 11. You decide to come in late tomorrow, as you want to go for a swim in the morning and know it’s okay to take some back as long as you attend any required meetings and keep your team up-to-date on what you're doing.

CRM Platform Developer

ReborrnRemote job, Remote
7 years of experiencesqlsalesforceDynamicsDesignapijavascript

Reborrn is hiring a Remote CRM Platform Developer

REBORRN is a digital consultancy based in London & in Athens. We are a fast growing hybrid of consultants & makers whose mission is to challenge how a modern consultancy should look like in the Digital Economy. We provide business & product consulting to visionary companies like Google, Coca Cola, Phillip Morris International, G4S SEE, Vodafone and L’OREAL with expertise in Management Consulting, Digital Transformation, Advanced Analytics, Digital Products and People Operations.

We are looking for a CRM Platform Developer with a strong Engineering and Analytical background whose role will be to help us leverage technology and different platforms to deliver better CRM, BPO and Data solutions to our clients. Our current pipeline of projects is focused around Microsoft technologies (Dynamics 365 and Power Apps) so expertise with these technologies will be considered a huge plus.

Who are you

You have 3-7 years of experience in an engineering position (e.g being a CRM, back-end or front-end Developer). What’s different about you is that you seethe big picture. You are a very good generalist and you feel comfortable from working with Javascript and APIs, to customizing a CRM and running SQL queries to analyse a dataset.

No, we are not looking for a superhuman. You don’t need to be an expert at everything but you should have above basic command in these fields.

You understand how CRM Platforms work (from CRM and Marketing Automation to Integration Platforms and Power App Builders) and even when you don’t know something it’s easy for you to dig deep and find out the details very quickly.

You are a fast learner and you have a “can do anything” attitude. You never shy away from the challenge to go beyond your scope of work and explore different areas of expertise.

You are curious by design. You always try to find better ways to do things. You experiment and you learn by trying. You never stop looking for the right answers.

You are a team player, so the formula for success to you is company>team>self.

Last but not least you care. At Reborrn we don’t accept the “this is not my job” mentality. If someone spills coffee on the floor, we pick-up the mop and clean the mess.

When it comes to your development skills, you’re a jack of all trades! You can create solutions to deliver the expected Marketing and Business results by configuring and customizing a CRM Platform, to using low-code Apps (like MS PowerApps) or developing custom apps, workflows and functions in JavaScript. You never cease to learn and you have a proactive attitude towards solving problems (even if something “works”, you seek to optimize the way it works!).

If ⭐️  is having some basic working knowledge (e.g. a couple of months of experience) and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is being a true expert on the field (i.e you consider yourself in the Top10% of your peers) this is what your skills look like:

CRM Platforms / CRM Development: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Client-side applications (JavaScript): ⭐️⭐️⭐️

SQL and relational databases: ⭐️⭐️

Working with APIs and protocols like XML, JSON: ⭐️⭐️

Front-end (HTML/CSS): ⭐️⭐️

ETLs & IPaaS: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Having experience with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform (Apps, Automate, BI) will be considered a strong plus.

What your day to day will look like

You will be working in a vibrant environment, so you can never expect to have just another typical day at work. It’s definitely not your comfort zone, but you will never get bored, that is a promise. And It doesn’t end here. You will always be more than welcome to get exposed to different departments within Reborrn and jump into cool projects that resonate with your personal interests. At Reborrn, we are huge fans of cross-functional collaboration!

You will split your time and attention between the following:

  1. Supporting the BPO team in integrating different platforms and creating automation solutions for various Business Processes. As an example, you may be required to:

    1. Get data from a web form

    2. run some form of data validation

    3. pass the data into a CRM tool

    4. pass them to a VOIP solution through an API call

    5. register the outcome of the call to an SQL database

    6. retrieve it, using the CRM tool again, to launch an automated journey for unsuccessful calls.

  2. Helping the CRM and Data activation teams in retrieving data from relational databases and activating them as part of automated journeys using a scripting language (example: retrieve all customers who have received 3 emails but haven’t opened in the last month and have completed more than 1 web purchases, and create a personalized coupon code that will be used in a CRM flow. The same audience will also be used as a remarketing audience for online ads).

  3. Developing custom functions using a scripting language for extending CRM capabilities and creating workflows. Example: Getting all Open Offers under a specific Opportunity, find the Max value across all of them and then update this value in a specific field under the Opportunity Module. If the value is above a certain threshold then also update the Opportunity Status.

  4. Configure the CRM, setup custom workflows and advanced automations to enable user journeys and business processes in our preferred CRM Platforms (usually MS Dynamics 365 but you could be exposed to Salesforce or Zoho as well)

  5. Assisting the Data teams in creating and optimizing data feeds for their reporting visualization solutions.

We are squarely in the corner of owners and entrepreneurs, providing for them, and at the right moment, the financial support they need to grow and thrive.

Job Description

You have spent countless hours over the years solving hard problems in mathematics, statistics, and computer science. You thrive on extracting useful information from large messy data sets. You know that a data set that satisfies all the requirements of a specific statistical procedure is a rarity indeed – and you know what to do about it. You have followed your passion for all things quantitative and are turning it into your profession.

We value data scientists who can demonstrate personal or business projects that have solved real problems big or small with data sets that you have obtained. You found the right data, scraped it off a website, or used an API to get it. Stored it, munged it, found all the anomalies, and figured out what to do about them. You asked statistical questions of the data, found out that the data did not satisfy the requirements of the methodology you used, and figured out what to do about that. You derived useful information from the data and demonstrated value from the project.

As a key member of our team, your passion for data will help us design, develop and deploy our integrated cloud services that help small businesses succeed.

What you'll do:

  • Application of machine learning to an automated financial services platform.
  • Design of sophisticated algorithms that work on large datasets in real-time.
  • Tackling sophisticated analytical problems to find business solutions. Implementing the changes to production and evaluating the impact.
  • Developing risk strategies to assess the implications of the new projects.
  • Support credit risk management by assessing losses by customer profiling.
  • Formulating, suggesting, and managing data-driven projects independently which are geared at furthering the business's interests.
  • Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights.
  • Cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability.
  • Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be used to inform business strategies.
  • You’ll be transforming data into action by working cross-functionally with stakeholders across Thinking Capital.
  • Use your quantitative mindset to direct the implementation of solutions informed through everything ranging from data quality investigations and adjustments to data structures to overall data program management.
  • Diagnosing, documenting, and reporting drivers of unexpected changes to portfolio/origination composition and credit performance. Communicating your findings including future impacts to losses and proposed recommendations to Senior Management as required.

Qualifications

You bring strong knowledge and real-world experience:

  • A master or graduate degree in statistics or equivalent
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience acting as a Data Scientist.
  • Machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Statistical methodology (eg linear & logistic regression, time series models, hypothesis testing, etc)
  • Python (Pandas), R (tidyverse) and SQL
