The Dyrt is hiring a Remote Senior Frontend/App Developer (React Native/Remote)

The Dyrt is the largest digital camping platform in the world, and the number-1 ranked camping app on both iOS and Android. The Role

As a senior engineer at The Dyrt, you will be tasked with building a robust, maintainable app experience for millions of campers who use The Dyrt every year.

Our current mobile frontend is built mostly with React Native. Work varies from building highly interactive tools, like our search page and Route Planner, to focusing on dynamically generated pages based on backend data and page performance on our campground listings. In this position we will be looking to you for experience, knowledge, and the confidence to make the case for what each situation merits in order to provide an ideal experience for our users.

Our solution also includes a next.js web front end, and a ruby/rails back-end. Experience in these areas would be a major advantage.

You’ll be working on a team with 2-3 other frontend developers and collaborating closely with our Backend, Product, CTO, and Design teams.

This position will report to the Head of Engineering.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Have at least 4 years professional experience developing web or mobile apps with React Native
  • Having 4+ years professional experience with modern component-based frameworks like Next.js, React, or Vue are a bonus
  • Are great communicators — Effective communication is key to how we work. We value patience and empathy in our product planning, support, and day-to-day relations. Ability to communicate effectively with other web developers, engineering, and others (marketing, ux/design, product, other engineering teams, etc.) is a critical skill at The Dyrt

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own requirement analysis completely along with the team
  • Define the longer-term technical vision for scaling and maintaining our mobile frontend codebase
  • Evaluate tooling and automation, recommend uplifts as necessary to maintain roadmap and quality goals
  • Lead execution on new features and improvement projects
  • Translate comps and wireframes into architecture and component execution and delivery plans
  • Estimate complexity and divide up tasks when new projects are brought to the team
  • Work closely with support on prioritizing field issues and providing technical guidance
  • Drive pragmatic testing efforts across the mobile codebase using automation tools


Experience and Requirements:

  • Have at least 4 years professional experience developing web or mobile apps with JavaScript and modern component-based frameworks like Next.js, React, React Native, or Vue
    • React Native: Experience and an understanding of developing with and debugging React Native and the Node Package Management
    • Android app development: Some proficiency with Android App development and tools. Experience with the Google release process and setup of the Android Development Environment
    • iOS app development: Some proficiency with iOS App development and tools. Experience with the Apple release process and setting up the iOS Development Environment which is a lot more involved than Android. Proficiency in Certificate management and renewals
    • Git: Some mid-level skills such as rebasing, resolving merge conflicts, and reverting merges. A firm understanding of Github including gitflow and trunk-based development practices
    • Bitrise: Familiarity with automated build systems such as Bitrise (or Jenkins)
    • CSS: Experience doing UI work with CSS
  • Take pride in writing easy to understand, maintainable code
  • Maintain and enhance existing code quality, organization, and automation
  • Have strong writing and communication skills for documenting technical requirements and coordinating with other teams
  • Provide constructive feedback on pull requests and are enthusiastic about mentoring junior developers on the team
  • Proactively research best practices for modern JavaScript and for the frameworks and tools used on the job
  • Identify and resolve performance concerns and look for opportunities to reduce technical debt
  • Weigh multiple solutions for a problem against business needs and time constraints in order to meet company goals
  • Experience with agile tools such as Jira
  • Experience with collaborative design tools such as Figma or Sketch
  • Experience with the JSON:API specification is a plus
  • Experience with keeping tabs on external changes that impact the project such as SDK EOLs and changes to key requirements for publication in various app stores.


Extras:

  • Swift and Objective-C: For occasional work in iOS native code
  • Kotlin and Java: For occasional work in Android native code
  • Firebase: Experience using Google tools such as Remote Config and A/B tooling would help.
  • Sentry or Crashlytics: Experience debugging using external analytic tools

In this role, you will:

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy:Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$76,160$115,200 USD

Compensation, Rewards & Benefits:

The salary or hourly wage offered by Nextiva to external candidates considers a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, etc. Our compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Our estimate of the expected hiring range for the position as posted is $130,000 - $202,560. A different level in the job hierarchy may apply to a specific candidate resulting in a different hiring range.

Overview:

We are looking for an accomplished and experienced Senior Technical Support Engineer to join our Support team in India. As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will help provide excellent support to our enterprise-level customers, using your expertise in cloud technologies and troubleshooting skills

You will report to the Regional Support Manager

You will:

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Open Platform, specialising in Java, JavaScript, iOS/Android dev languages (Kotlin, Swift), SDK and APIs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues raised by customers, ensuring resolution within Service level agreements.
  • Be the contact for customer issues, liaising between customers, Product Management, Engineering, and other teams.
  • Be the "voice of the customer" and provide valuable insights and feedback to the development and service teams for recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with product developers, building knowledge in Support, troubleshooting tools, and methodologies.
  • Analyse recurring issues and contribute to the development of processes and requirements for better customer support solutions.
  • Mentor and educate team members, empowering them to handle technical escalations.
  • Demonstrate a customer-centric approach, delivering exceptional support experiences while working with some of the world's top brands.
  • Be comfortable with 24/7 shift work and on-call duties to address important customer issues.
  • Work within the normal US business hours

You have:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Tier 3/4 Support Engineer, Developer Support, or equivalent customer-facing position.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level customers with Fortune 500 organizations.
  • Expertise in analysing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for deep and complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of web technologies and protocols.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting different APIs, SDK, Mobile environments and services that support our platform end-to-end.
  • Communicate with enterprise customers through chat, email, and phone, including managing technical bridges during important situations.
  • Service orientation and collaborate across teams.
  • Willingness to be on-call for high-severity issues.
  • Strong ability to initiate new projects to improve processes and customer support.
  • Experience with modern programming languages and supportive frameworks.
  • Experience with relevant technologies, such as JS Frameworks (React, jQuery, Angular, Polymer), Mobile development languages (Kotlin, Swift, Dart), daily usage of Postman or equivalent REST clients.
  • Proficiency in scoping and trends analysis using databases, monitoring tools (Grafana, Graphite, etc.), and logging systems (Kibana, Splunk, logstash, etc.).

The Commercial Products & Platforms team develops digital experiences and global technology platforms that delight our customers and enable them to order on their terms, across channels and touch points, efficiently and conveniently.

As Manager, Tech Lead, Regional Payment Integrations, you’ll coordinate the expansion and further adoption of our mobile order and pay capability into new global markets. This includes backend integrations into payment service providers and gateways, as well as adding support for locally relevant alternative ways of payment and digital wallets.

McDonald’s global mobile app is the cornerstone of our digital ambitions for the next decade, and this role will play a central role in bringing mobile ordering and flawless payments to millions of customers around the world. Alongside partners in product management, experience design, treasury, and the international markets, the Manager, Tech Lead, will be responsible for the technical solutions to enable new payment methods and capabilities globally.

The Tech Lead, Regional Payments Integrations will work as part of the Payments team within Customer Technology and act as a steward for these new products and platforms. This role unlocks key new experiences for McDonald’s customers as we advance our standardization and globalization journey.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Lead architecture solutions and establish technical vision and strategy for your products, with a focus on integrations with key payments partners and a forward-looking approach for payments orchestration.
  • Act as technical leader for Software Development Engineers (SDEs) within your squad(s), ensuring the quality of technical work and helping to address engineering challenges in balanced, scalable ways.
  • Act as the key domain expert for your technical components, third-party integrations, and payments landscape in regions and markets you support, participating in cross-team planning activities and assisting in solution design where it impacts your applications and services.
  • Partner closely with multi-functional teams and peers in product, experience design, enterprise architecture, and market leadership teams to balance interdependencies and align deployment roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience working in hands-on technical roles, with a strong background in software engineering and architectural design.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in an Agile software development environment, participating in, or leading scrum ceremonies, and leading engineering teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a curiosity about breaking down technical details and decisions for non-technical audiences.
  • Expertise in developing cloud applications and microservices architecture, with a point of view on standard processes and technologies.
