Monitor, write about and present on the latest trends in battery and other electric-vehicle powertrain technology. The analyst will track and report on technology related to electric motors, inverters, e-all-wheel drive, fuel cells and hybrids while also keeping on top of developments in battery chemistry and types, charging capability, battery cost, related market economics and business strategies. The analyst will follow the industry’s efforts and challenges related to electrifying the fleet and track developments at global automotive suppliers, automakers, tech companies and other key disruptors, as well as help evaluate the latest battery-electric vehicles on the market. The analyst also will help shape forecasts and other quantitative analysis related to the topic, as well as support the Sales team in its consultations with clients. In addition to writing compelling, insightful and relevant articles for the Wards Intelligence subscription service and WardsAuto website, the Batteries and Electrification analyst will set the research agenda for the topic, conduct primary research and present those findings in keynote presentations at ITAG and industry conferences, as well as use that research to support related consulting projects.
We’re looking for a proven thought leader – or someone who is highly interested in becoming one – around battery-electric vehicle technology. At least five years’ experience as an Automotive Writer or Automotive Market Analyst is required, with a working understanding of electric-vehicle batteries and chemistries and other core electric-vehicle technology preferred. We are looking for someone who can talk the talk with experts in the field, identify trends and hurdles, analyze data and write about it all in a clear and engaging way – and is willing to share opinion and insight on emerging technology and the business strategies of key players. Demands are varied and diverse, so multitasking capability is a must. Some travel required.
