Job Description

The Senior Designer is responsible for assisting the Creative leads and overseeing designers and junior designers in generating ideas that can be crafted into effective consumer messages. The position involves a keen eye for design, typography and excellent executional skills.   • Assist in the preparation, review and execution of client pitches and presentations.
  • Participate in various training courses throughout the year to improve communication, problem solving, creative, and critical thinking skills.


  • University or college degree in a relevant discipline such as Graphic Design, Motion Design or Multi-Media Design
  • 5-7 years of experience in digital media advertising organization developing content for large brands and accounts.  Experience with quick service restaurant, financial services and retail advertising an asset.
  • Generates ideas that can successfully be deployed as effective executions.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of design, colour and typography.
  • Computer photo-retouching and image manipulation skills are also imperative

    • Concept, layout, and design enticing motion graphics videos for various media    
    • Edit raw video footage and add effects/elements (audio, video, colors, animation) to enhance motion graphics    
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions to share new design perspectives and ideas    
    • Maintain and follow best practices for version control, naming conventions, and organization of graphic files    
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about the latest graphic design techniques    
    • Meet with internal clients or the creative/art director to determine the scope of a project; advise clients on strategies to reach a particular audience; work closely with copywriters to determine the message the design should portray   
    • Adjusts project workflow and schedules to facilitate priority projects   
    • Communicates expectations to management and parties responsible for the project    
    • Present design concepts to internal clients and, at times, senior-level management   
    • Coordinates creative and production processes for marketing projects with outside vendors   
    • Monitors vendor performance and adherence to project deadlines


    • 5-7 or more years of experience designing visual communications in a corporate or agency environment for internal/external presentations   
    • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field from a university or an Accredited Art School; or AA in Graphic Design with relative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience  
    • Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign required.   
    • Knowledge in video editing software: Final Cut, Premier Pro, and After Effects   
    • Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications and aptitude with new tools   
    • Strong portfolio showcasing high-end presentation design skills and a clean design aesthetic   
    • A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects creatively, efficiently, and thoroughly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment   
    • Demonstrate effective time management, organizational skills, and detail-oriented with an ability to review work carefully   
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills   
    • Adaptability and flexibility — Ability to listen and take constructive criticism and pivot designs as needed to accomplish project goals   
    • Ability to work as a collaborative team player, flexible and adaptable to new changes

    To help continue our rapid growth, we are searching for a Designer to serve on Resultant’s Brand team. As our lead designer, you’ll bring our brand to life across external, client, and employee executions, grabbing attention and amplifying our storytelling with visuals:

    • Translating client needs and branding reqests into design strategies and systems. Going beyond the task to create reproducable templates to speed ongoing delivery.
    • Work within and stretch our brand guidelines to create and design a variety of materials for print and digital including: eBooks, Whitepapers, Handbooks, Brochures, Data Sheets, Social Media images, web graphics, proposal graphics, flow charts, infographics, and more.
    • Articulating and pitching design concepts to internal clients
    • Execute creative direction for the company and continue enhancement of brand guidelines and how they are executed internally and externally
    • Perform retouching and manipulation of photos and images
    • Organization and maintainance of digital library of design assets
    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects on time and on budget
    • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities and soft skills for alignment building in order to maximize positive outcomes.


    Some of the qualifications and skills we are expecting include:

    • Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
    • 5+ years of experience in graphic design
    • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
    • Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
    • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
    • Skilled in PowerPoint layout
    • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
    • Strong analytical skills and an excellent eye for detail
    • Great multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure
