Work/Project Scope:

  • Have good working knowledge of load balancer, firewalls and TCP/IP networking architecture

  • Proven experience in a technical help desk or support role, ideally with a focus on cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps tools (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, operating systems (Linux, Windows), and database systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with an ability to provide step-by-step technical help both written and verbally.

The Role

Ravelin is looking for a Technical Pre-Sales Manager with proven experience and a passion for selling technology solutions to senior executives. External

  • Act as a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to prospective clients on the technical capabilities of Ravelin to identify appropriate implementation and deployment options

  • Run discovery sessions and tailored demonstrations to gather technical requirements

The SDK Group is comprised of four teams; Inference Engine, Middleware, SDK Design & Release and the Software Images Team (SWIM Team.)
 
The Inference Engine team delivers a cutting-edge software SDK designed to fine-tune deep learning frameworks for embedded chips. They’re dedicated to optimizing performance, ensuring that their solutions drive the maximum efficiency of AI applications on embedded systems.
 
The Middleware team creates a powerful framework which allows to move the virtual driver data across multiple ECUs. Therefore, they act as the glue between the vehicle hardware and the autonomous driver software. This covers Ethernet based low bandwidth applications as well as PCIe based high bandwidth applications.
 
The Software Integration - Software Images (SWIM) team creates novel solutions to getting Application and Operating System Images to the vehicle. This covers the image building process itself, as well as the creation of deployment and data recording tools. Every day, Engineers use their tools to get the trucks loaded up with the latest software and out onto the road.
 
The SDK Design and Release team creates safety and product requirements, as well as component and integration test cases to control the cyclic release process of the products of the group. With this work the team contributes to the high quality code in each release.
 
What you’ll do:
As the Group Technical Lead you will cascade your expertise and provide technical guidance to four separate teams within the SDK group (Inference Engine, Middleware, SDK Design & Release and Software Images Team (SWIM Team.) You will be responsible for software development, including but not limited to, software design, algorithm development, implementation, unit testing, vehicle testing and deployed software maintenance while following quality, build, deploy and test processes, safety and process requirements and guidelines. Includes both Autonomous and Perception Engineers.
  • Responsible for executing full software development lifecycle activities using primarily C++ skills in Linux development environment using Lean-Agile methodologies.
  • Assist in root cause analysis of issues found in testing and process automation steps.
  • Support team in identifying daily assignments and reporting progress at daily stand ups.
  • Support software and system level test plans and verification strategies to support ongoing feature development and bug fixes.
  • Designing and implementing systems responsible for data acquisition and analysis from remote vehicles in the field.

Team background:

The HIL Service and Reliability team maintains Cruise’s large-scale and highly available Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test platforms. AV engineers at Cruise use this platform as a primary means for testing and developing features, validating hardware, firmware and software changes, and facilitating continuous integration. We own the platform and build automation tools to remotely resolve issues and prevent issue recurrence.

Role:

We are looking for a Senior Hardware SRE engineer who will work on scalable, accessible, and stable test systems and frameworks that enable development, integration, and validation of AV performance at Cruise. In this position, you will work directly with stakeholders from various cross functional teams and manage complex challenges which are unique to Cruise. You will need an aptitude to learn your immediate responsibilities as well as their alignment with broader team and company goals.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop software platforms to provision, configure, and operate hardware assets

  • Develop tools to enable monitoring, visualization, and reporting of hardware assets

  • Build operational excellence in the HIL platform by measuring and monitoring test fleet uptime, availability, and system health

  • Manage deployment and configuration changes

  • Gather and analyze system’s performance data for failure analysis and performance improvements

What you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, robotics, computer science or related engineering field 

  • 3+ years of work experience in mechanical, electro-mechanical, automotive, robotics, or similar industry/industries

  • Experience with programming, debugging, optimizing code in Python, Chef, Ansible or similar language to automate routine tasks

  • Good understanding of UNIX/Linux operating systems

  • Hands on troubleshooting experience in a distributed Linux environment

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Datadog to manage assets and measure uptime and reliability

  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills

  • Ability to work in a cooperative, rapidly changing team setting with aggressive goals and challenging timelines

  • Passion for mentoring and growing junior developers

Bonus Points!

  • Experience designing HIL test systems

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform

  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline configuration and deployment

The salary range for this position is $100,600 - $148,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
