About the Project

EdTech Evidence Exchange is a research-based project that is in a portfolio of projects of the nonprofit InnovateEDU. The Exchange is a nationwide effort to document and share edtech insights to help every PK-12 classroom. We aim to provide educators with evidence that will help them better select and implement edtech and to connect educators who work in similar school and division contexts in terms of their edtech implementation. 


Position

The Research Project Associate works closely with Exchange’s Project Manager and InnovateEDUs Director of Research to coordinate and provide direct support for a variety of research projects. This includes data collection and recruitment efforts, online platform development, user experience testing, and grant support. Interested candidates will have the opportunity to write for academic audiences. 


This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely. Since March 2020, the entire InnovateEDU staff has worked virtually, and team members are expected to be available during typical office hours in Eastern Standard Time, with some flexibility available. The position may require 20% travel to support sites nationwide.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinating new and ongoing research projects
    • Develop/create and revise workflows and project/organizational procedures
      • Analyzing project tasks and tracking progress
      • Course correcting and documenting changes as needed
      • Recording work processes and SOPs
    • Organize and contribute to project meetings, including maintaining weekly meeting agendas
    • Communicate with product design and development teams to coordinate development and bug tracking
    • Lead design, manage, and conduct user experience testing

Responsibilities


The Junior Developer’s primary professional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Position Overview

InnovateEDU is seeking a Director of Research. This leadership role is primarily responsible for managing two research-focused InnovateEDU projects: the Blueprint for Inclusive Research and Development in Education (BIRD-E) and the EdTech Evidence Exchange (the Exchange) and the teams managing those projects. The Director of Research will lead each project’s work and manage each project team’s in service of its mission. They will lead strategic planning processes, product development efforts, grant proposal preparation, partnership development, and engagement with K-12 practitioners. In particular, the Director of Research will build strong alliances with research-focused organizations, including, but not limited to, federal education agencies.  


The Director of Research is also responsible for providing research guidance across the InnovateEDU ecosystem. They will serve as a research expert, advising project teams on ways in which they can leverage principles of high-quality research to enhance their impact on K-12 public education (e.g., theories of change and development of learning agendas). 


We are looking for someone to fill this role who has rigorous research training and experience and is excited to bring that expertise to an ambitious, practice-focused organization. This person must be flexible and able to apply traditional research methodology in nontraditional scenarios, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative methods. This person will lead existing projects, so they must bring both fresh ideas and respect for ongoing efforts. Working with streamlined teams, they should be ready to dive into the work themselves, leading by example. The Director of Research will have the opportunity to think big and envision how to expand the impact of BIRD-E and the Exchange.

Landing Zone, a project at InnovateEDU, provides school districts with a comprehensive cloud based data infrastructure through the implementation of an Ed-Fi Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart for analytics in Google BigQuery, and the necessary data workflows in Apache Airflow to connect previously siloed, disparate educational data systems. Landing Zone simplifies the process a district must go through to implement an Ed-Fi ODS, connecting Ed-Fi certified data sources, and consuming non Ed-Fi certified data once it has been aligned to the standard. This project has a heavy focus on data engineering, backend work, dev ops, and using data analytics tools to verify data.

Responsibilities


The Lead Data Engineer’s primary professional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing and supervising a team of engineers and data analysts
  • Establishing a team culture and communication cadence which includes daily standup, code reviews, and ensuring timely customer responses
  • Collaborating with the Customer Success Lead and team to ensure cohesion between engineering and implementation
  • Leading estimates and work scope development for custom engineering work for customers 
  • Mentoring, teaching, and aiding in the professional development of team members
  • Implementing and maintaining Landing Zone for new and returning customers
  • Leading the creation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of data processing pipelines in Apache Airflow (ETL work)

InnovateEDU is seeking a full-time Senior Technical Associate. This role will interact with school systems from across the country, vendors, external education standards bodies and other nonprofit and industry partners. 

The four main components of this role are the following:

  1. One-on-one and small group mentoring of school data analysts at school via weekly coaching sessions, check-ins, or through a managed service desk.
  2. Creating and curating a set of exemplar data dashboards to expose school data to end users.
  3. Ensuring that the deployment of solutions through implementation is successful and assisting troubleshooting or implementation challenges. 

Provide high-level technical assistance to school systems and edtech service providers in support of data interoperability implementations.This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely. Responsibilities:

Lead and support a coaching cadence and support for school districts. 

Possible tasks include:

  • Provide troubleshooting and advice for school systems  who need just in time support
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for data analysts at schools and districts throughout the country
  • Create/revise workflow systems and procedures by monitoring and analyzing client usage, success, project tasks, and data to determine the need for implementation changes

Family communication, online instruction, needs assessment, and data tracking and analytics are each stronger and more effective when they are designed to meet the needs of all learners. 

The Educating All Learners Alliance (EALA)is an uncommon coalition of100+ organizationscommitted to resource sharing and community-building that supports the efforts of the education community to meet the needs of all students, especially students with disabilities. The Alliance represents voices from a diverse range of communities, including disability advocacy, parent, special education, civil rights, and K-12 nonprofit education organizations. EALA leads the development of a Resource Library, Tech Tool Library, webinars and podcasts, and community-based initiatives, showing apathway to possiblein the challenges and opportunities surrounding students with disabilities in K12 education.

 

Position:

InnovateEDU is currently seeking a full-time project associate to serve as a content lead for the Educating All Learners Alliance project. The project associate content lead will stand as the go-to person for written content, upholding and growing the alliance’s content and communications strategy across the EALA networks of networks. This role will manage the day-to-day operations and resource growth within the EALA resource and tech tool libraries.The project associate content lead will stay up to date and serve as an inside ear to sector highlights, opportunities, and potential resource gaps–ready to create resources for, and with the help of, the partners within the alliance. In collaboration with the project team, the project associate content lead will support larger initiative strategy and implementation, including content or event-based strategies. 


This is a full-time position with the ability to work remotely. Since March 2020, the entire InnovateEDU staff has worked virtually, and team members are expected to be available during typical office hours in Eastern Standard Time, with some flexibility available. The position may require 20% travel to support sites nationwide.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate engaging written or multimedia content including case studies, newsletters, initiative releases, website updates, and other EALA materials
  • Continuously review needs and trends in the field to proactively identify content opportunities to amplify EALA and its goals through news, original articles, webinars, and other mediums 
  • Support the editorial and content team strategy and priorities for EALA 
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of of the EALA Resource Library and EALA Tech Tool Library
  • Identify resources generated by partners of the alliance and other open source, relevant resources to support the continuous growth content within the Resource and Tech Tool Libraries
  • Represent the alliance in sector virtual and physical community spaces such as conferences, communities of practice, and other networking events
  • Use process systems such as Pardot or Salesforce to document and scale content and communications growth
  • Help organize and maintain project documentation to effectively support resource planning and larger project decisions
  • Advocate for process change or improvement based on learning experiences and/or data-driven reflection of tasks
  • In collaboration with the project team, support the long-term Initiative building goals of the alliance
  • In collaboration with the project team, use sector knowledge to generate ideas and activate key players to collaborate in conference proposals/sessions and resource development working groups
