Lighthouse Labs is looking to welcome a new Employer Partnerships Manager on a 12 month contract who will work closely with employers to identify and secure job opportunities and placements opportunities for Lighthouse Lab’s job-seeking graduates and alumni. As a Employer Partnerships Manager you will quickly build relationships with local and national employers and match their hiring needs in order to meet Career Services targets and outcomes.


You will be a key member of a highly successful Career Services team and will be responsible for building relationships with companies, recruitment agencies, professional associations, and other stakeholders to ensure the ongoing career development objectives of Lighthouse Lab’s graduates and alumni.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Working to ensure various pipeline and conversion targets are met - source and engage with potential employers to promote Lighthouse Labs’ Career Services
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of the local labour market and employers and being aware of national labour market trends and developments, specifically in the tech sector 
  • Prospecting new employers (across Canada and abroad) through online and reach outs as well as attending various internal and external virtual events
  • Working with local and national employers to build a relationship of trust and mutual benefit.

  • Being a part of delivering key Career Services messaging to students and act as the “industry expert” contributing to our best-in-class student experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver the Web Development curriculum to groups of students through lecture-like classroom formats (currently virtually) and provide coverage for both PST and EST time zone students 
  • Make virtual rounds and help assist individual students or project groups as they work through assignments and homework material via proactive Google meet/Zoom checkins, Slack channel participation, and Discord threads

Lighthouse Labs is looking to welcome a new Education Records Assistant.You will be an advocate for all-things Student Records, with documents regarding enrollment and graduation being your top priorities. You will spend a lot of your time checking graduation status and credentials, preparing reports and uploading them through regulatory portal uploads. You will be putting student records in place to ensure data coordination with financial reports run smoothly, andidentifying innovative ways to streamline student records and report quality. 


This is a part time position for approximately 20-25 hours per week.Reporting to the Finance Department. 


What you’ll be doing:

  • Handling confidential student records.
  • Making sure graduates are verified and Transcripts issued to grads within 30 days of the last day attended.
  • Verifying Student Records are accurate to later be uploaded to the DataWitness platform within certain due dates.
  • Updating Monthly student enrolment and graduation reports from our CRM database
  • Assisting with any ad hoc requests. 
  • Preparing compliance and KPI reports for regulators.

What we need from you:

Lighthouse Labs (LHL) is looking to introduce a new role to the product team, Product Manager Corporate and Government Partnerships. The Product Manager will help support our next stage of growth as we expand our corporate and government partnerships to diversify our reskilling and upskilling education product portfolios! This role reports directly to the Director of Product Management and will work with closely with the B2C reskilling and upskilling Product Managers to take our bootcamps, introductory courses, flex learning models and courses for web, data, cyber and adapt the end to end student experience as needed to fit the target audiences of corporate training and government partners. This role eats, sleeps and breathes the needs of our customers (learners), to manage and oversee the process, quality, timelines, and P&L for new products and the maintenance of our existing products. This role will be actively consulting and collaborating with internal stakeholders, external clients, partners, organizations and/or vendors. 


What you’ll be doing:

Product Leadership & Stakeholder Management (30%)

  • Building and maintaining an understanding of the business line / portfolio strategy and proactively identifying and communicating data-driven learning product and market opportunities, improvements and insights for government
  • Acting as a key point of contact / advisor for assigned portfolios both internally and externally, with regards to learning needs, outcomes, strategies and solutions, while taking into account business needs, emerging trends and evolving learner (user) needs.
  • Championing a learner (user) focused approach (in addition to usability and accessibility) to learning and product design, to deepen and enhance outcomes and customer satisfaction; product management.
  • Collaborating with Learning Experience Manager, Admissions, Education Delivery, Career Services and Product Software stakeholders to ensure technology strategy supports learning needs for the assigned portfolio, and to ensure seamless integration of new learning solutions into internal and external learning systems and frameworks.


Product Strategy & Roadmap Execution (30%)

  • Driving the product portfolio, business-planning and go-to-market process across cross-functional teams of the company.
  • Collaborating with Product Marketing Manager to analyze consumer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from a portfolio ROI and build, borrow vs. buy product development perspective.
  • Driving the execution of all product lifecycle processes and collaborating across cross-functional teams on conducting customer research, customer journey mapping, education/learning research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch.
  • Creating and maintaining education product briefs that include business cases, technical and learning requirements, revenue and ROI.

What we need from you:

  • Proven previous experience (3+ years) as a Product Manager in the Tech industry (Training / Education / Education Technology; considered an asset).
  • Previous experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
  • Proven experience working as a product designer/developer or technical product owner.

  • Collaborate with other departments including Marketing, Education and Career Services;

Lighthouse Labs is hiring a Remote Project Accountant (16 Month Contract, Part-Time)

Lighthouse Labs is looking to welcome a part-time Project Accountant to join the Finance team to handle government funded initiatives, including financial reporting and disbursement processing. The Project Accountant’s primary responsibility will be to manage the processing of various stipends offered to both employers and students.You will also be responsible for tracking project costs, generating progress billing reports and actively participating in project variance discussions to help identify project performance and mitigate risks.


Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Project Accountant supports the long term financial well being of government funded initiatives throughout its project lifecycle. As a project accountant you will be supporting all project accounting, reporting and analysis functions. Ensuring timely processing of payment and accurate reporting will be key to success in this role. 


The part-time Project Accountant will be expected to work 25 hours per week with flexibility for the candidate to define the work week.


What you’ll be doing:

Disbursing of Stipends:

  • On a monthly basis, review third party payroll submissions for wage stipends obtained from employers.
  • Track all submissions against contract and process reimbursements to third party employers as instructed by Lighthouse Labs.
  • Process tech and child care stipends to students in accordance with eligibility requirements.
  • Work closely with the Project Management team to monitor and report on project related financial data.


Project Accounting:

  • Responsible for reviewing the contract and understanding what is deemed to be eligible project costs, scope of work and finance related project deliverables.
  • Monitor and track all project costs to budget, including payroll, invoices, etc.
  • Prepare project expenditure reports on a quarterly basis as stipulated by the Funder.
  • Produce variance reports to the Director of Finance and highlighting areas of over/under spend.
  • Assist with the preparation of project forecasts and cash flow.
  • Prepare journal entries for Contract Asset and Contract Liability accounts in accordance with ASPE.
  • Handle any project related audits.


What we need from you:

  • Over 2 years’ project accounting experience 
  • Experience in managing government funded contracts is an asset
  • Must have proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Strong ability to develop and manage tracking worksheets
  • Self starter attitude with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting standards (ASPE), fiscal procedures, and applicable tax codes

  • Leveraging ourwealth of data to understand mentor and student behaviours and areas for improvement along our entire workflow
  • Collaborating with the LXD and Product team to create training plans to ensure mentors are helping our students get the most out of our courses, as well as develop an assessment strategy that evaluates mentor success and delivers timely, actionable feedback.
  • Working with our Software & Operations teams to build out processes and tools for scaling our mentor operations 
  • Developing programs and training for our mentors, as a benefit of being part of our community
  • Ensuring there is a regular cadence and consistency to insights & learnings from your team through sharing monthly/weekly reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Give expert-level advice to Mentors as they help support students reach their full potential on their academic journey through performance, student feedback and quality audits.
  • Maintain open channels of communication between Education and LHL team to enhance and improve the mentor relationship, training and development process. 
  • Providing communications and reports on a regular basis on mentor feedback.
  • Providing leadership and support for the mentors, including the development and promotion of best practices around mentorship delivery, online learning, high-impact teaching practices and experiential learning.
  • Working with the Director, Education Delivery to scale mentor quality assessment and reporting, learning outcomes and their measurement, and mentor recruitment and retention.
  • Actively monitoring mentor KPIs, survey results and qualitative data to help make recommendations to the Director, Education Delivery.


What we need from you:

  • 4+ years of experience working in rapid growth organizations with demonstrated experience either building or operating on-demand services and marketplaces. Bonus if you also have community management experience 
  • 2+ years people management experience
  • Proven data-driven decision-maker who uses hypothesis-driven thinking to identify problems and design experiments that lead to new solutions
  • Excellent data manipulation and analysis skills through spreadsheets and/or SQL
  • Demonstrated expertise scaling processes and building new operational solutions while preserving a personalized experience 
  • Strong prioritization skills to effectively balance ongoing business operations and while driving meaningful initiatives for future growth
  • Extensive experience building collaborative and effective relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent communicator

Lighthouse Labs is looking to welcome a new Employment Relations Advisor who will work closely with employers to identify and secure job opportunities and placements opportunities for Lighthouse Lab’s job-seeking graduates and alumni. As an Employment Relations Advisor you will quickly build relationships with local and national employers and match their hiring needs in order to meet Career Services targets and outcomes.


You will be a key member of a highly successful Career Services team and will be responsible for building relationships with companies, recruitment agencies, professional associations, and other stakeholders to ensure the ongoing career development objectives of Lighthouse Lab’s graduates and alumni.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Working to ensure various pipeline and conversion targets are met - source and engage with potential employers to promote Lighthouse Labs’ Career Services
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of the local labour market and employers and being aware of national labour market trends and developments, specifically in the tech sector 
  • Prospecting new employers (across Canada and abroad) through online and reach outs as well as attending various internal and external virtual events
  • Working with local and national employers to build a relationship of trust and mutual benefit. 
  • Pre-vetting new employers and re-engaging employers already within the LHL database system via email campaigns, cold calls/emails, generating new and following up on referrals and inbound leads
  • Based on employers’ needs curating resumes to send to employers and setting follow-up processes to ensure efficient pipeline management and maximizing conversion rates
  • Ensuring information is entered into the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), running weekly and monthly reports from ATS to ensure various KPIs are met, and analyzing efforts.
  • Working closely with employers to identify and match suitable graduates and alumni with job/placement opportunities 
  • Following-up to clarify and resolve issues with job-seekers, alumni, employers
  • Being a part of delivering key Career Services messaging to students and act as the “industry expert” contributing to our best-in-class student experience.
  • Providing coverage in running workshops with students such as Resume Writing, Interviewing and Job Search
