Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our growing team. This role will report to our VP of Finance.  In addition to supporting both acquisitions/development underwriting and asset management functions, this position will also oversee the junior finance personnel. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and enhancing our financial operations, ensuring that all financial activities align with our strategic goals. 

Seeking Tri-State area candidates, primarily New York.  Some travel required.

Asset Management:

  • Oversee financial analysis and reporting for Monarch’s portfolio of senior living assets, ensuring data accuracy and insightful conclusions.
  • Lead the preparation of property budgets, forecasts, and KPI analyses, offering actionable recommendations to enhance asset performance.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to inform key asset management decisions.
  • Organize and lead monthly and quarterly performance review meetings, presenting analyses and strategies to senior management.
  • Drive the preparation of investor reports and presentations, ensuring they align with strategic objectives.

Acquisitions/Development Underwriting:

  • Oversee the preparation of cash flow and valuation analysis for potential acquisitions and development opportunities.
  • Lead market research, operational performance data analysis, and comparable sales assessments.
  • Guide due diligence efforts and oversee the creation of financial models for various capital structures.
  • Participate in deal negotiations and calls with equity and development partners, ensuring sound financial decisions.
  • Review and refine investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and assess market trends, identifying emerging opportunities for the company.
  • Identify opportunities for value enhancement within the portfolio and support implementation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all periodic reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4-8 years of experience in FP&A, real estate finance, consulting, investment banking, or related fields, with a proven track record of leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Yardi or similar real estate management software preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate finance, financial statements, underwriting, and forecasting.
  • Proactive, self-starter with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-financial stakeholders.

We are seeking a motivated Associate/Senior Associate, Finance to join our growing team. This role will report to our VP of Finance and support both acquisitions/development underwriting and asset management functions. You will play a key role in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and enhancing our financial operations.  Seeking Tri-State area candidate, preferably New York.  Some travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-6 years of experience in FP&A, consulting, investment banking, corporate banking, real estate finance, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Suite.
  • Yardi experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of real estate finance, financial statements, underwriting, and forecasting.
  • Proactive, self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
