Zone IT is hiring a Remote Splunk Detection Engineer
We are looking for talented Splunk Detection Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detection capabilities within the Splunk platform to enhance our cybersecurity operations.
- 5+ years of experience in a CSOC, Cyber detection, Threat Hunting and/or SOAR development role.
- 5+ years developing detections within a SIEM environment (such as Splunk ES).
- 2 years + experience working with Splunk.
- Experience working with security tools such as endpoint detection and response systems, network anomaly detection etc,
- Experience working with cloud and SaaS environments (AWS, Azure, M365, Entra ID, etc) and awareness of threats impacting them.
- Designing and implementing threat/attack modelling to derive abuse cases, detection logic and automation course of actions.
- Ability to think like an adversary/threat actor.
- Well versed in the development of detection and hunting strategies for a broad range of cyber threats, including malware, DDOS, hacking, phishing, lateral movement and data exfiltration in the Financial Services sector or similar.
- Working in large/complex environments.
- Good consulting and stakeholder management,
- Pro-active & energetic work ethic.
- Participation or experience in penetration testing / red teaming exercises, including network, infrastructure and application exploitation would be a plus.
- Knowledge of the following frameworks is required:
- NIST Cybersecurity framework
- MITRE ATT&CK
- Lockheed Martin Cyber Kill Chain™ or similar methodologies

We are looking for a skilled Field Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of various hardware and systems to ensure optimal functionality for our customers.
- Support of end user computing infrastructure including but not limited to:
- Desktops, laptop, monitors, printers, Skype/ MS Teams telephony, End user peripherals, any other devices that become available in marketplace to enable similar capabilities
- Performa site computer or server room physical and environmental checks
- Perform rolling desktop asset audit
- Reboot or power cycle of devices
- Provide IT supplier escort or onsite assistance to support teams for incident diagnosis resolution or service request
- Provide desktop related hardware and software break-fix and support
- Diagnosis and correction of malfunctions and failures of equipment installed at the designated service location sites and using designated support methods
- Desktop assistance for supported software and hardware components including operating systems
- 2nd line resolution of generic desktop application incidents including but not limited to Operating system, Microsoft office application, email application and desktop related internet issues
- Hardware support – 1st level problem diagnosis, for desk and laptop hardware and associated peripheral where call cannot be confirmed as hardware failure by Service desk
- Includes swap out of faulty components, using site stock available. Work with hardware maintenance and repair services as required for field based stock and specialize skills requirements
- Limited printer support such as assistance on paper jams, changing of consumables excluding paper
- Diagnose and correct malfunctions and software failures for in scope services
- Onsite assistance for supported software components including operating systems related drivers to support approved peripherals and software applications.
- Develop relationships with site users, periodically meet critical users
- Identify incident or situation requiring escalation, trigger formal escalation in accordance with the employer’s contract and in scope services
- Carry devices to the site to perform required swap outs / device replacements while receiving appropriate guidance from the technical support team
- Carry valid employee ID proof or government issued ID proof while visiting client locations and completing induction for sites as required by customer
- Maintaining vehicle or washing the windscreen in order to ensure that customer site’s safety requirements are met
