Job Description

The Virtual Program Therapist assists and supports clients from admission through discharge. The Program Therapist provides clinical assessments and contributes insightful, practical and meaningful information to the development of treatment plans. They orient new clients to the treatment program and makes introductions to the staff and other program participants. As a member of the treatment team, the Program Therapist meets weekly in collaborative fashion with the treatment team to discuss cases. 

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining a caseload
• Responsible for the case management of the patient record, including assessments, individual treatment plan based on patient’s needs, session notes, discharge plan and clinical discharge summary
• Facilitation of process and psychoeducation groups
• Responsible for family and social support involvement and documenting in patient record
• Attends weekly treatment team and/or clinical meetings
• Serves as a liaison with multidisciplinary treatment team
• Participates in company trainings, webinars, individual and group supervision, and related meetings

Qualifications

• Master or Doctorate degree in relevant field
• Experience working in behavioral healthcare
• Currently hold clinical license in the state in which you are applying (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LPCC, etc.)

Therapist responsibilities include providing therapy services, leading therapy groups, facilitating clinical assessments, conducting individual sessions, and other tasks as detailed below. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping those in need and will find joy in being at the heart of a positive, professional culture. The Professional Psychiatric Services division prides itself on its close culture, clinical excellence, while focusing on helping patients sustain their mental health wellness goals and bringing a new sense of hope to those that are suffering.

• Ensures clinical documentation is completed with PPS division policy guidelines
• Establish therapeutic rapport with patients and families/loved ones.
• Delivers 20-25 hours of direct client hours each week to outpatient clients.
• Facilitates intensive outpatient program groups 3 times a week
• Facilitates admission assessments and the admission process for new patients with professionalism, courtesy, and a welcoming attitude.
• Clinical supervision as required.
• Participates in weekly team meetings and communicates patient treatment goals with all team members as needed.
• Completes appropriate number of therapy sessions weekly for patients, including family/support system sessions aligned with the patients’ level of care.
• Provides utilization reviews to insurance companies, providing appropriate clinical information to obtain initial authorization and continuing stay authorization, as necessary.
• Communicates with the billing department to provide information about services rendered as therapy.
• Participates in research planning, analysis, development, and presentation.
• Provides training and support to clinical care coordinator as needed.
• Actively participates in prior authorizations and utilization review for TMS, Spravato, and medications
• Assists with accreditation and credentialing efforts as needed.  
• Refer patients across Discovery Behavioral Health brands and service lines as clinically indicated
• Consult on potential referrals filtering into practice from other Discovery Behavioral Health brands as clinically indicated
• Back up technician for TMS and Spravato as necessary
• Therapeutic intervention for patients undergoing Spravato and Esketamine treatment
• Providing integrative therapy for patients undergoing services withing practice

This is a full time position working remotely or hybrid out of our Laguna Hills office location.
