Work you'll do:

We are seeking a driven and experienced Director of Supply Chain Operations to lead our supply chain and operations strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence. This strategic leader will analyze market trends and customer data, drive cost-saving initiatives, and ensure a seamless transition of new suppliers in partnership with product development. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership qualities, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability within a lean supply chain operations team. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our supply chain, from demand forecasting and planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, distribution and managing supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving operational efficiencies, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

You will be a strategic leader with a proven ability to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with business goals, driving continuous improvement.
  • Leverage market trends, customer data, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize demand forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and maximize profitability.
  • Partner with product development to evaluate and onboard new suppliers, ensuring a smooth transition to consistent supply.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the supply chain team, fostering a collaborative and accountable environment.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all aspects of the supply chain: procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Managing a lean team: cultivating a culture of collaboration, ownership, and high performance.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with vendors and partners: negotiating favorable terms, managing performance, and resolving issues.
  • Implementing robust performance measurement systems: analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities and drive operational efficiency.
  • Coordinating the selection, implementation, and optimization of a cloud-based ERP system (experience with transitioning to a new system is a plus).
  • Implementing and maintaining efficient warehouse practices using a WMS.
  • Leading monthly Supply Forecasting Processincluding demand planning, central production planning, supply forecasting process, supplier forecasting process.
  • Collaborating with finance to ensure purchase orders align with cash flow considerations.
  • Instilling a customer-centric approach: developing strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Championing continuous improvement: actively seeking opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Collaborating across departments: ensuring supply chain strategies align with overall company objectives.
  • Ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
  • Developing and executing fulfillment strategies for D2C, B2B sales, and Amazon.
  • Managing relationships with 3PL providers for cost-effective and efficient omnichannel logistics.
  • Building strong relationships with channel leads to understand their needs, identify purchasing power leverage opportunities, and provide necessary support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management and strategic sourcing
  • At least 7 years in a supply chain leadership role within the consumable CPG industry.
  • "Doer" mentality with a willingness to actively participate in operational tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in demand forecasting and planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and experience with different cloud-based platforms (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience working with a 3PL, WMS, and various fulfillment channels (D2C, B2B, e-commerce marketplaces).
  • Experience working with manufacturing partners to optimize pricing and terms (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices.
  • Exceptional negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Proficient in supply chain management software and tools.
  • Experience in the pet industry (a plus).
