Role and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategically implementing a systematic sales strategy tailored for the region.
  • Orchestrating and executing targeted sales activities within the region.

  • Empowering and guiding the sales team by equipping them with key insights on applications, competitors, pricing strategies, and winning tactics for projects.
  • Proactively scouting for leads and cultivating opportunities within the assigned area.
  • Preparing offers and skillfully negotiating with customers to secure agreements.
  • Pioneering the development of new markets and nurturing relationships with prospective contacts.
  • Managing an allocated annual budget tied to territorial responsibilities.
  • Providing accurate forecasts into the CRM system, offering long-term visibility for strategic decision-making.
  • Delivering comprehensive updates to the Segment Director Metal on planned and ongoing activities, customer projects, trials, and emerging market trends.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years' experience in the Metal Recycling (MR) industry, with expertise in sensor-based sorting technology or the operation of MR recycling sorting plants.
  • Proven experience in selling large capital equipment, navigating long project sales cycles, and handling technical equipment sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an international environment with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and German
  • A track record of successful contract negotiation, paired with exceptional listening and communication skills, underpinned by an analytical approach.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally, with up to 70% of time dedicated to travel.
  • Strong self-organizational skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using the Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

VLI seeks personnel who can work effectively in a small Contract Field Team, supporting repair, maintenance and installation of USAF Noise Suppressors (Engine Test Cells and Hush Houses). Po... are available in the following disciplines: Electrician, Ironworker, Sheetmetal Worker, Welder (Structural), Carpenter/Millwright, Painter and Laborer (entry level). General knowledge of industrial construction is required. Experience with steel erection and refurbishment is preferred. Must have the ability to read blueprints. For Journeyman consideration a minimum of five (5) years’ experience is required.

Typical VLI field projects involve several trades - structural ironwork, sheet metal work, welding, mechanical / millwright installation and maintenance, electrical, equipment operation (forklift), rigging and hoisting, corrosion control and painting. No employee is expected to support all trades, but the successful applicant and employee can typically support more than one trade depending on the needs of the team.

Travel expenses are reimbursed and per diem paid. Employees must have reliable transportation for travel within the Continental U.S. Must pass a background check for access to US military and other customer installations.

VLI’s work in the U.S. is governed by the Service Contract Act for payment of prevailing wages and benefits. Competitive wages and benefits are offered including holiday, vacation and fringes.

Qualifications
