Our Product Design team at Monzo is currently made up of 60 people across Product Design, User Research and Branding, lead by our VP of Design, Vuokko Aro.

????You’ll play a key role by

  • You’ll lead your squad to iterate on our existing Borrowing Products to help them truly meet both customer and business needs.
  • Together with your discovery team, you’ll unpack opportunity areas and set visions for new borrowing products that meet needs we aren’t serving.
  • You’ll work with your squad to break longer term visions down into well defined pieces and deliver against them.
  • Understanding complex problem spaces, and collaborating across multiple disciplines to deliver simple, informative, and delightful experiences customers love.
  • Sharing work with your squad, design and leadership, remaining humble and open to feedback while not shying away from expressing your own opinion.
  • Holding a high bar for design in our Borrowing products, expanding the problem space to include all inputs that affect the final experience.
  • You'll have a good sense of how to prioritise, working in an ambiguous space where you are constantly experimenting to find the best solution. 
  • You’ll collaborate regularly using strong communication, documentation and facilitation skills. You’ll work closely with PMs, Engineers, Data scientists, User researchers and writers to make sure your team isn’t just shipping great designs, but they are deeply involved throughout the design process.

  • You’ve led the design of world-class product launches in a fast-growing company before. 
  • You understand that good design is not about trends but is built on top of principles and
    tradeoffs. You make well-reasoned design decisions always advocating for the best possible user experience. 
  • You’re passionate about inclusive design and accessibility, and you’ll design with all our users
    in mind. 
  • You care about the UI design details but are also comfortable zooming out, seeing the
    broader picture and connecting the dots to create a cohesive overall experience. 
  • You’re familiar with native mobile design patterns on Android and iOS and have designed
    polished apps for both platforms 
  • You’re passionate about sharing your knowledge, and raising the bar for design practice at
    Monzo. Previous experience mentoring designers is a big plus. 
  • You understand that writing is designing, you're a confident writer, and the copy in your
    screens is never an afterthought.

????The application journey has 3 key steps

  • Initial call (30 minutes). A video chat with Natalie who is part of our hiring team.  This focuses on general suitability and fit for Monzo.
  • Portfolio Walk-through (45 minutes+). We'll ask you to prepare 1 case study which demonstrates your end-to-end design process and deliverables. You will go through this with our Design Manager for Borrowing and another designer in the team where they will ask follow up questions, digging deeper into your process and work.
  • Final round (2.5-3 hours). This involves 3 interviews covering craft, impact and teamwork. These typically happen across 2 days via three separate video calls. The portfolio submitted is used as a reference for these interviews to help set context for us, and save you time repeating yourself.

This process should take around 2-3 weeks - your schedule is really important to us, so we promise to be as flexible as possible!

      • Passion and track record for shipping innovative and delightful consumer experiences while holding an incredibly high bar for quality. Bias toward high velocity, experimentation, and helping the team find creative ways to gain efficiency.
      • A combination of public company and startup experiences is highly desirable, with experience leading through big-scale shifts to support millions of active users. Bonus points if you have been part of the executive team to take the company public.
      • Experience in hiring, building, and mentoring world-class engineering teams to 100 headcount and beyond and have managed through leaders across multiple teams/geos and know how to develop leaders in a fast growth environment.

      The Director, MSEs successfully leads a team responsible for managing, creating, designing, implementing, turning up and life cycle support for AireSpring’s services. The MSE (Managed Services Engineers) are a critical team as they build, implement, and maintain the solutions that solve customers’ business problems, providing them with peace of mind. Organized in PODs, MSEs provide a single point of contact for AireSpring customer’s technical matters throughout their lifecycle knowing the details of the customer and owning the implementation.  MSEs partner with the AireSpring Project Management team as well as numerous other AireSpring departments to successfully implement solutions. Often the Director and team members collaborate and coordinate with Sales Engineers prior to sales are completed, to ensure a smooth implementation.  Collaboration with Product Development on new product launches, IT for innovation, internal support and system integrity, and Network Operations for technical alignment are also key functions for the Director.    Interfacing regularly with channel sales, partners, and customers to support highly technical requirements is an ongoing part of the role too.

      • Provide leadership for the MSE team along with corresponding Managers, Supervisors and Leads.

      About the Job

      This role is for an iOS engineer within the Life360 team.This person will be an integral part of the core of our applications as they will be required to become experts in areas ranging from background collection services to our highly visible mapping features. As a member of the team it is expected that you will be highly involved in architecting, designing, and leading development of the next generation of our systems and features. 

      For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is 160,000 to 220,000 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is 165,000 to 210,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
