This is a great DevOps / Platform Engineer opportunity, providing 100% remote support to a U.S. Federal Agency. The team is migrating from Mainframe to AWS and is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join the team.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Automate and orchestrate workloads across Mainframe and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Integrate test automation within CI/CD pipelines to include both legacy and modernization architectures.
• Provide Application Programming Interface (API) component development to support modernization of legacy application components.
• Support unit testing and integration of developed application components.
• Evaluate and recommend modernization tool sets in Cloud and legacy environments.
• Troubleshot and solve complex problems by analyzing situations, code, and data.
• Automate and orchestrate workloads across platforms.
• Monitor and optimize performance.
• Develop standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff.
• Be passionate and curious about technology and cloud computing.

Qualifications and Required Skills

• Automation experience with configuration / deployment management systems such as Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation, Salt, or other such tools.
• Experience delivering change in an Agile / Scrum environment.
• Experience in the Atlassian tool set: Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Proven experience with Python, PHP, Groovy, Ruby, Java, or similar languages.
• Proficient with Git and Git workflows.
• Proficient in leveraging CI and CD tools to automate testing and deployment.
• Familiarity Git or GitHub, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Ansible or similar DevOps tools
• Experience implementing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in a mainframe zOS environment a plus.
• Experience with mainframe DevOps tools such as IBM Dependency Based Build, Groovy, and Urban Code Deploy a plus.

This is a great Test Automation Engineer opportunity, providing 100% remote support to a U.S. Federal Agency. The team is migrating from Mainframe to AWS and is looking for a talented engineer to join the team.

The Test Automation Engineer works with agile teams and the test manager to automate testable test cases, user stories, Acceptance Criteria and the Definition of Done. This role will have moderate experience in conducting automated test efforts using commercial and open-source test automation tools for complex software development projects. The ideal candidate for this role has an impeccable attention to detail, a solid experience in software quality engineering and understanding of commercial and opensource test automation tools. You should work well with people of differing experience levels.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with stakeholders to understand end-to-end services being developed and tested.
• Ensure that every phase and feature of the system is tested and that issues are identified and fixed before the product goes live.
• Create test plans and test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, performance, security, and usability testing of the system.
• Must have an understanding of test automation frameworks and custom test solutions for GUI applications, backend APIs and non-functional testing.
• Experienced in contributing to test automation frameworks in UFT, Selenium, and Rest Assured
• Design (or modify) and execute test automation scripts/modules/applications using a high level of technical expertise.
• Under limited supervision, carry out day-to-day activities of the Test Automation Engineer
• Prepare reusable test data for every test scenario irrespective of environment
• Report defects and work with the team to resolve them
• Identify and assess test cases which are test automation candidates
• Identity the test scenarios and discuss them with the scrum team
• Contribute to story point estimates based on level of effort
• Review, verify, and evaluate test results
• Conduct test case/script peer reviews
• Write libraries and test framework.
• Collaborate with analysts and developers to develop test solutions.
• Develop innovate ways to automate and/or simulate test plans.
• Develop functions for automation and be involved in creating code for API services.
• Perform automated and manual quality assurance.
• Review and analyze stories for any ambiguity, better clarity, completeness, testability, and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications and Required Skills

• Has a tester mindset, is curious and can come up with interesting test scenarios.
• 4+ years' experience in a similar software test automation role.
• Experience with multiple testing activities: smoke, regression, functional, and non-functional in large and complex environments.
• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Test Rail, Microfocus ALM
• Experience with testing tools/frameworks such as Microfocus UFT, Selenium, Rest Assured, Cucumber, Junit, TestNG, JMeter
• Experience in testing Mainframe based applications
• Experience developing test automation scripts using Microfocus UFT and Selenium
• Experience working with UFT and Selenium based test automation frameworks
• Experience with GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket
• Experience with programming languages, tools, and data exchange formats such as Java, Bash, XML, JSON, SQL, VBScript
• Experience working as part of an agile scrum team.
• Software testing experience through a full system development life cycle, including implementing test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Experience analyzing test data and test results
• Specialized experience in quality assurance
• Experience documenting test results for corrective actions, reports, and audits
• Experience with issue tracking, collaboration, and documentation tools (e.g., Jira and Confluence)
• API testing experience.
• SQL experience.
• AWS experience. (Mainframe experience also desired).
• Preferred Industry experience: Federal Government and/or Insurance
