Ideal Background 

• 10+ years of proven experience in a sales role, preferably within the B2B sector focusing on the accommodation, property, or interior design sector.
• A commercial leader who has overseen many different facets of driving revenue (sales/category, growth marketing, social/search, performance marketing and/or creative development).
• Strong track record of driving revenue growth and managing client relationships.
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Analytical mindset with experience in market research and data-driven decision-making.
• Great people and business leader with experience of holding full P&L accountability at a high-growth company and collaborating cross-functionally to drive business outcomes.

• Develop, lead, and execute eCommerce strategy.
• Manage end-to-end website development and day-to-day operational execution.

• Hire, mentor, and lead a world-class team of designers, engineers, and product managers.

Required skills and experience

• Native fluency in Japanese and proficiency in Business English.
• Regularly use Japanese e-commerce sites and online content as a consumer, with a deep understanding of eCommerce trends and user shopping behavior in Japan.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience as a hands-on eCommerce leader in a fast-growth consumer brand.
• Experience in managing all aspects necessary for operating an online store as an eCommerce manager, including production, design, CMS operations, inventory management, sales promotion planning and execution, copywriting, and sales management.
• Able to write well-defined specifications, user stories, delivery tickets, and documentation that clearly communicate expected product outcomes.
• Proven success working with design and development teams using agile/scrum methodology.
• Previous experience in building and migrating Shopify stores.
• Analytical thinker with expertise in using qualitative and quantitative data to validate hypotheses, drive decisions, and increase revenue. We are looking for a skilled Growth Marketing Specialist to join Koala Japan’s Growth Team. The chosen person will focus on organic search and affiliate channels to optimize both Koala’s Blog and our website. The chosen person must have an entrepreneurial mindset, with a dsire to grow their skills & our company within the role. They will have a passion for content, working with writers to improve our blog submissions each month. Finally, they will have the opportunity to learn and gain exposure to all growth marketing channels via collaborative teamwork and in applying their analytical & content brain to optimize our marketing strategies.

What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?

• Manage & coordinate with agencies & writers to deliver 4+ blog articles each month
• Optimize writer content based on SEO content best practices, whilst ensuring each article is ‘on brand’ for Koala
• Conduct keyword research daily to understand words & phrases Koala’s potential users are searching on Google & Yahoo
• Building comprehensive reports to track the progress of key SEO metrics such as organic rankings, organic traffic, CTR (click-through rates), revenue & more
• Monitoring & share changes in search engine algorithms to ensure Koala’s website aligns with current best practices (E.G. Google Core Updates)
• Affiliate: Work with affiliate platforms (Impact.com) & directly with content creators (Influencers) to build out Koala’s affiliate program

Required skills and experience

• 2+ years of experience in digital/growth marketing, with preferred hands-on experience of SEO and/or affiliate marketing from a brand or agency background
• Basic understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking strategies
• Prior exposure to any SEO Tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs) and/or Influencer Partnerships or Affiliate Marketing Service Providers: such as Parterize, Impact.com & A8
• Excellent analytical skills to track and optimize performance
• Passionate about content creation and marketing strategy
• Native Japanese, conversational English
• Entrepreneurial mindset: a hunger to grow their skills & a willingness to be hands on

Koala is seeking an experienced 3D artist who specialises in the creation of realistic 3D renders for furniture industrial design and high impact film assets for marketing and communications. Reporting to the Head of Creative, you will be responsible for leading the development of realistic furniture renders to exact specifications, crafting visually stunning, detailed and operational digital representations of our award winning furniture. 

If you’re passionate about crafting the optimum lighting environment to show off hyper-realistic fabrics, and are interested in creating industry-disrupting 3D operational models for a company who’s disrupting the furniture industry, then you should have applied already.

What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?

• Create realistic 3D renders of furniture industrial designs, focusing on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Develop highly detailed and realistic fabrics and materials to enhance the realism of the renders.
• Work closely with designers and engineers to ensure that each model meets specifications and design requirements.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling visual assets for promotional materials and marketing campaigns.
• Gathering information to create models: sketches, drawings, photographs, and video, materials, finished product samples – in general, everything that will help to understand the appearance and structure of the object.
• Oversee and maintain library of furniture models built in collaboration with Cylindo
• Manage the day-to-day project management and workflow of 3D Assets for Koala with both external and internal stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in 3D rendering and industrial design.

Ideal background…

• An expert in 3D modelling able to accurately replicate furniture to provided specifications.
• Exacting eye for detail and a passion for creating highly detailed and life-like fabrics and materials. 
• Proven experience as a 3D artist specialising in furniture industrial design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
• Proven experience in developing and optimising materials library - creating accurate and richly detailed materials and textured to accurately represent the products.
• Experience working with the Chaos platform, with a strong understanding of web-based AR platforms.
• Familiarity with Cylindo is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.

We are looking for a CRM Specialist to support our growth team in Japan. The chosen candidate will primarily focus on email marketing, but will also be tasked with running our reviews program via Yotpo. 

What key responsibilities does this role have @ Koala?

• CRM strategy: Develop and implement innovative CRM strategies, focusing on email & reviews programs to drive business growth and customer loyalty.
• Accountable from strategy, execution, to operations for CRM
• Creative problem-solving: Use your analytical skills to continuously refine our CRM approach, ensuring maximum engagement and revenue generation.
• Perform CRM marketing activities including, but not limited to; campaign briefing, copywriting, email development (including basic HTML coding), email optimisation and testing.
• Active tracking and analysis of performance metrics, providing data driven insights to CRM and to greater marketing team
• Lead reviews program: using Yotpo and other tools to strategize review acquisition & management
• Reporting of success of review & CRM program during key weekly/monthly meetings

Required skills and experience
