The Climate Group at SecondMuse is seeking a full-time Senior Program Manager to support the delivery of highly impactful entrepreneur support programs, including our NYC-based Climate Technology and Manufacturing program: Scale For ClimateTech. Supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and administered by SecondMuse and our partners at NextCorps, Scale For Climate Tech helps fast-track the commercialization of businesses with breakthrough climate technologies and further strengthens New York state as a hub for climate solutions. The program provides climate tech hardware innovators with immersive training on manufacturing and an extensive network of mentors, experts, investors, manufacturers, suppliers, and more – all dedicated to supporting business growth and commercialization and making manufacturing easier. We are currently completing our 5th Cohort of the program and are seeking a Senior Program Manager, with deep expertise and relationships in hardware and manufacturing, to oversee the design, development, and delivery of our 6th Cohort. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for the successful design and delivery of highly impactful programs in the Climate Group. Initially, the Senior Program Manager’s role will focus on the Scale For ClimateTech program and services, and expand as new programs come online. The role involves managing multiple projects, team members, timelines, and resources, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget. The Senior Program Manager will collaborate with the team at SecondMuse, our partners at NextCorps and NYSERDA, and our community of Advisors and Experts to (1) Design the next iteration of the program and services, applying the learnings from past program cycles and their deep expertise in hardware and manufacturing to increase our impact; (2) Help secure partners and resources to support delivery, leveraging their existing network and relationships in climatetech, hardware, and manufacturing; and (3) Oversee implementation - including outreach and recruitment; selection; onboarding; and the participation of the company’s in the program.   • Manage multiple high-value and high-impact projects and program components, ensuring effective coordination of resources, timelines, and stakeholders.

  • Reports to the Senior Director of Climate; collaborates closely with the Senior VP of North America.
  • Requires some periodic travel, primarily within New York State, for in-person meetings and program delivery work.

Strong organizational, communication, and management skills are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be highly relational, strategic, collaborative, and team-oriented, and have extensive expertise and a strong network in climatetech, hardware, and manufacturing.

The North America Business Unit (NA BU) is a dynamic team spanning North America and working on a suite of thriving, long standing impactful bodies of work. The Business Unit includes NASA’s Space Apps Challenge and Collective to a Wellbeing Economy Building initiative anchored by Headstream to a Climate Economy Building initiative anchored by For Climate Tech. This Senior Project Manager role will be part of the Consulting Group team within the North America Business Unit, where we connect with new clients, explore new problems, build community and / or capacity as part of our work to build economies that are good for people and the planet. 

The Consulting Group executes projects with government, corporate and foundation clients in the areas of Research, Design, Strategy and Pilot Implementation. The work of this group involves developing insights, strategies and solutions that lead to social, environmental and economic impact, as well as pilots for future scalable programs and solutions. This dynamic team requires business development expertise to build and manage business opportunities aligned with consulting strategy, and also requires program management expertise to manage consulting projects and support the delivery of our current and future offerings. 

While this role sits within the Consulting Group, it collaborates with and supports programs across the Business Unit as skills, capacity and needs require. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Consulting within the North America Business Unit and will work in collaboration with the Senior Vice President of the North America Business Unit, the broader consulting team, the Director of Operations of the North America Business Unit, and the SecondMuse Business Development Team.

Work Environment

  • This role is part of a remote team that works on a North America schedule with bi-annual global calls with the full company. Occasional evening meetings may be required outside of typical working hours to accommodate conversations with global colleagues. 
  • Reports to the Senior Director of Consulting; collaborates closely with the Senior Program Manager of Consulting, Senior VP of North America, Head of Business Development, and Director of Operations for the NABU in order to optimize the business development and operational processes.
  • Requires some periodic travel (sometimes international) for in-person internal meetings and on-site delivery of consulting work.
  • This role will be a core team member within the Consulting Group, a client facing unit dedicated to building, designing and executing consulting projects across government, corporate and foundation clients.
  • This role is a mix of internal process development, business development and external community or client facing work.

Our Commitment to Pay Equity:

This role offers an annual base salary of $110,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.  At SecondMuse, we believe in fairness and transparency, so we have a no-negotiation policy to prevent bias and ensure wage equality.
