Ecosystem Operations Associate

 

Program:Stanley Black & Decker Founder Catalyst
Travel: 20% - You may need to travel to Baltimore, USA for this position, (the majority of the program will be conducted online)
Contract Position: August 2024 until Mid January 2025
Location: Remote/ US based

As an Ecosystem Operations Associate,you will help build the next amazing batch of startups, as they grow from early stage to venture-backed companies across the US, and beyond. As an Operations Associate, you will play a vital role in shaping the growth and success of early-stage startups as they evolve into thriving companies, while nurturing the ecosystems behind them. Your network will expand to include community builders, entrepreneurs, investors, and mentors, giving you unparalleled exposure to different startup ecosystems. You will actively engage with different ecosystem stakeholders, and contribute to the dynamic Techstars community through a range of events and initiatives.

General Job Description

This role centers around operational excellence and administrative support throughout the duration of our Founder Catalyst and Startup Community Catalyst programs (events, pre-accelerator and bootcamps). This role is customer facing and requires the ability to organize information, capture data, organize events and execute tasks quickly and with precision. Up to 20% travel is required. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage with Techstars founders and community leaders while planning and supporting virtual and in-person program activities, meetings, and events that drive them toward success.
  • Create and manage resources for program founders and event participants such as program Slack channels, program or event hubs, event recordings, and email communication enabling them to be well-informed and connected to Techstars, mentors, and one another.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of speakers, mentors, corporate partners, founders, and sponsor meetings and visits.
  • Manage clear and effective communication channels among stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Follow best practices and execute upon outlined content and curriculum of the program.
  • Play a critical role in event planning, ensuring exceptional execution of workshops, training, and other community-building activities. Onboard and manage vendors including scheduling, coordination, and contract management.
  • Take the lead role in tracking data for events and programs managing participant information as well as feedback from founders, partners, and key stakeholders. 
  • Represent Techstars in different startup ecosystems, both actively and passively.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years in fast-paced operations, project or program management focused position
  • English speaking critical
  • Experience in or skillset to excel at event planning, operations, and logistics 
  • Tech savvy with the ability to learn program tools and platforms quickly
  • Strong interest in the discourse around technology, startups, entrepreneurship
  • Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience
  • Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities
  • Desire to support their team, partners, and founders well
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and is solutions driven
  • Fits the Techstars culture (people-oriented, adaptable, supportive, creative, resourceful, independent, #givefirst)
  • Happy to travel - up to 20% travel is required for this position
